Oh Dawn, more beauties and so simple to make. Each card is bold and beautiful and such fun! Can't thank you enough for your sharing and teaching! TY, TY! Hugs, Donna
Love this! Just a quick tip for you - to emboss only to a certain spot on a card and to not have to worry about going too far, line your top cutting plate to the spot you want to emboss to. Then you run the whole thing through the big shot with no worries about it embossing the spot you don't want it to!
You can also cut a slit in the fold of the embossing folder and pull the paper through. However, using the clear plate to over-hang probably works best. Love this card!
I was getting stuck for card designs for workshops but thanks to you I now have another card style to show. I might even try a heart, stars and circles or even the labels thinlit dies.
Really enjoying this series. I too was going to give you the tip several others have. It's similar to partial die cutting, hence the name, partial embossing.
Hey Dawn! I'm watching your video with the tunnel fold card you made on June 13, 2015!! I love this technique....I think this would make a beautiful card set to give as a gift!! Make the set in rainbow colors!! Awesome idea!!
Great card Dawn. Thanks for sharing. Will definitely try this card. Another way to only emboss where you want could be to let the top plate cover only the part you want embossed I.e. not covering the whole embossing folder. Works with die cutting so I expect it would work on embossing too.
Louise Rolph I was just going to say that. I use that method and it works great cos you only get pressure where the top plate is. Love your cards Dawn!
just a suggestion- when you are trying to partially emboss with a folder like this, just line up your second cutting plate up with where you want your embossing to end. Then when you run it through the Big Shot, it won't have any pressure where you don't want your embossing. :)
Jacqueline Ciolli Thanks Jacqueline - I did remember that "process" after I made the video. It had been so long since I'd done it that way, I guess I forgot! Thanks for the suggestion and have a great day!
Dawn - watching this tutorial I thought of a solution to your directional design for the front. If you put the embossing folder in place as usual but position your top place on the folder only to the line where you what the design to stop and run it through. It comes out perfectly. I've tried it works. Hope this helps!
Lovely card! Have made these before, like yours a lot. note, with the embossing folder, since you put on ribbon, you didn't need to go quite as far as the dots. Take care.
Great Card and Video Dawn , love the 6x6 size Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder [139304] , you could use DARICE - EASY FRAMES FOR A2 EMBOSSING FOLDERS 7/PKG these are difusers which would be perfect for this EBF to let you place sentiments on your card or leave blank so many possibilities with this Watercolor Wings Photopolymer Bundle [140232]

***** Thanks Virginia - so glad you stopped by today!
line up your top cutting pad to the point where you want to stop embossing, you don't have to guess where to stop then.
+dadkins02 - Good tip!
