Moody old skies Dave, which I love nit that keen on the ominous rain clouds on the way mind. Its a long night with the Autumn right in now and to be fair, too much tent time for me, especially as I do not sleep very well as it is. Misty morning but lucky to keep dry when the forecasted rain missed you, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan , the blues skies are avoiding me lately. Tent time in a bigger tent is more bearable , I have got a new sleep mat to try lets hope I sleep better on this one ! TFW atb Dave

@@BorderRambler thanks Dave. I ordered the MLD pole extenders direct from the US. Thanks for remembering, it's much appreciated. Was up on Haystacks at the weekend but haven't got them yet so will have to wait for another trip to use them.
The Southern Uplands look right good Dave, very peaceful. Even under grey skies, you showed them off really well there. If I can do Galloway for an overnighter then I'm sure the SU are doable too. I think I'll try to give them a go in 2022. ATB, Chris
You would love them Chris , probs easier to get to than the Galloways , about 7 mile from the Beattock-Moffat turn off from M74 . We will have to have a camp together in the spring if you are up for it . atb Dave
Wow, what an amazing area for sure...great rolling topography! Love all the running water and cresses and crevasses. Very cool! Sure am always intrigued by the stone walls! Perfect adventure! Bruce and Otis
Glad you enjoyed it, its a very unspoilt area and always so quiet . Plenty to see when the weather is slightly brighter . Stone walls in abundance in this area . TFW atb Dave
Good stuff Dave , i'm due a visit to the southern uplands i've not been down for a while. Good set up with the two poles and the half tennis ball ..cheers Stevie
I think we are all searching for the last good weather slot’s now Dave before the inevitable arrives !! I’m pleased you got the poles sorted out. Great pitch shame the views had disappeared the next morning. ⛺️
Nice camp there Dave - looks remote country but your tent looks reassuringly solid for the conditions. Always loads of cloud! - supposedly great for the Aurora borealis at the moment but no chance with the cloud as it is...atb 👍
A good hard slog up there Dave, good stuff pal. I've not checked your description yet mate but I'm hoping there's a link to the pole setup you had, I'm thinking it would be a top system for the Lavvu too this hot tent season. Great work with using the Lanshan items too, it worked well. Another top wild camp from you pal 👍
The Duomids a fine looking tent mate👌🏻 Looks a brilliant system you’ve got there. Great night out and another enjoyable video as always😊👍🏻 Cheers, Mark
Thanks Joe , loads of room now without a centre pole in the way. Arse and blowing gan up that hill lol . The wall took the brunt of the wind thankfully . atb Dave
Back on Dave had family issues to deal with. Back in the Southern uplands, I hope to attempt the SUW later this year but personal circumstances have changed... see what happens. I would probably get a mld duomid or hyperlite but importing puts me off. Always good to watch your trips, I watch very few channels now, too many false prophets nowadays. ATB.
Thanks Eddie , yeah family first that’s for sure . Would be good to see you on SUW if you get chance , to be fair I never paid any import taxes on the Duomid they put it down as less the $50 so I dodged that one lol . You were one of the first YT ers I watched as I got into wild camping along with garn fora ratch so I always look out for your vids. Appreciate you watching Dave
Another crackin vid marra 👍🏻 IMO twin poles are definately the best setup for Duomids - the usable space is fantastic 😎Mind that's a TIDY set up you've got there ⛺️😜 ATB Dave.
I'm loving the look of that area in the Southern Uplands Dave. Your MLD customization's very well thought out, what weight is it? Stunning timelapses as always and yeah those darker longer nights are sharp cutting in now....on a plus point that means the hills are quieter, and personally I love that. Another great watch, tfs.
Thanks Donna is quiet and really wild . MLD with inner is around a 1kg which is nothing really . I will send you DM on insta re parking for that area , it’s away from main road and safe .
@@BorderRambler Nice one, thanks Dave :) Great weight tent you've put together there, extra space and seemed really solid with the windy/stormy conditions you had.
I am swaying towards the Duomid for the space but sometimes I struggle to find pitches to accommodate its large footprint. So the Hubba still has a place . TFW atb Dave
New subscriber mate, drawn in by the Duomid. I am just waiting for one to arrive which i bought on eBay that has never been used. Just a thought but using that 2 pole system would likely cause friction off the pole baskets wouldn't it ??? I was thinking that the baskets would be rubbing constantly and eventually the friction would add wear to the areas its rubbing against ....how are you finding it ??? Have you noticed any signs of wear in those areas at all ...I like your channel by the way and looking forward to making my way through your videos...Thanks very much for all your efforts.
Thanks for the sub , I haven’t noticed any damage so far when using the 2 pole system. . However it does impede the air vent as it’s right up against it . I do put 1/2 a tennis ball on top of the pole inside the top of tent . Atb Dave
Hi Border Rambler, excellent video, thank you for sharing it. You live in a beautiful country, I enjoyed it. May I ask you, what camera gear you are using? Looks like excellent quality as well with lower light. Atb from Switzerland
