      @BigMoneyMike127 and yet...Caitlin Clark sets record for most assists in a WNBA game: Fever vs. Wings stats. Caitlin Clark scored 24 and set a WNBA single-game record with 19 assists.
      Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark broke the WNBA assists record for a single game by dishing out 19 dimes in a loss to the Dallas Wings. But in doing so she was also responsible for putting more points on the board than any player ever has. Clark scored or assisted on 66 of the Fever's points, which is the most in league history.
      Through 26 games, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star already has more career assists than 75.4% of all WNBA players ever.
      August 16, 2024, After hitting her second field goal of the game just over three minutes into the contest, Clark became the first rookie in the history of the WNBA to record 450+ points and 200+ rebounds in a single season, per StatMamba. With 53 points and 29 assists over her last two games, she’s additionally the first player in the league to ever amass over 50 points and over 25 assists during any two-game span.
      When you have more assists over 75% all players in the history of the WNBA, chances are you will have more turnovers.

      @@chriskay1449 Clark tied a WNBA rookie record with seven three-pointers, joining Crystal Robinson as the only players to make that many shots from behind the arc in their first year in the league.
      Following Indiana's win over the Sky, Clark joined Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu as the only players in WNBA history to record 150 points, 50 rebounds and 50 assists in their first 10 games.
      The Fever rookie sat at 202 points, 76 assists and 64 rebounds in just 12 games. She became the fastest WNBA player to reach at least 200 points and 50 assists in league history
      With her performance against the Sky, Clark became the fastest player in WNBA history to record 200-plus points, 75-plus rebounds and 75-plus assists. Through the first 15 games of her WNBA career, Clark has tallied 242 points, 93 assists and 76 rebounds. Clark also has 19 steals and 15 blocks on the season.
      Caitlin Clark made history blowing away the previous record for fastest WNBA player to record 300 career points, 100 rebounds and 100 assists by doing so in her 19th game. No player had ever achieved it sooner than 22 games, per ESPN Stats & Information, and if we look at only rookies directly out of college, New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu held the previous record, at 27 games.
      Clark became the first rookie to record a triple-double in the history of the WNBA. She's also the first member of the Fever to get a triple-double.
      On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Clark made basketball history - again - when she became the first NBA or WNBA player with 29 points, 13 assists, five rebounds, five 3-pointers, five steals and three blocks in a game since 1974.

    • @lazaruslazuli6130
      @lazaruslazuli6130 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Exactly, she wanted a record that would be very hard for someone else to break. Caitlin's first Olympic game (that is - IF she ever plays for Team USA) would be in 2028. To get 7 gold medals to beat Dinotaurasi's 6, she would be playing in that 7th Olympics in 2052. She would be 50 years old. That's probably not going to happen. (Caitlin is already a millionaire and wouldn't need the money or the dubious acclaim of being an Olympian. In the next 4 years, she's going to break every existing record that the old fossils have put on the books. So, she won't NEED that gold medal to validate her existence like DT needed this 6th one.) In 2052, DT would be 70 years old, and if she's still alive and senile dementia hasn't overtaken her by then, she could sit in her rocking chair drinking Ensure and rest on her laurels that her record of 6 golds will never be surpassed. I guess the fact that she didn't actually earn that 6th gold medal doesn't play into her calculations. She received gold #6 as a 'participation' award just for being there and warming the bench. Fun Fact: In 2004 DT was a member of her first Olympic team as a Rookie.

      Taurasi's 6th gold medal was the equivalent of a participation trophy. Minutes she played in the gold medal game = ZERO. So the record is trash. I don't know anything about basketball, but it looks like Clark can hold her own against 18-year-olds, 42-year-olds (Taurasi), and every age in between. Perhaps Team USA will really embarrass itself and have Taurasi on the team for the 2028 Olympics so she can try for a 7th medal.

      I loathe it when people compare female players to the men. Caitlin Clark is the greatest female shooter I've ever seen, and a darned good all-around player who could end up being the best female ever. I hope she sticks it to a lot of the WNBA haters. But despite what many of her over-zealous fans seem to think, there are hundreds if not thousands of high school boys all over this country that would smoke her; players that are tall enough, quick enough and athletic enough to prevent her from even getting most of her shots off, let alone making them. Players who could easily prevent her from driving on them, players that would dribble circles around her, players who would easily score on her inside and out. She couldn't even make an NCAA men's team, let alone set the all-time men's scoring record. Pete not only set the record in far fewer games with no 3-point line, Caitlin plays with a smaller basketball. If you don't think that's an advantage, consider that the women's ball is an inch smaller all the way around. That's like Pete shooting a men's ball at a rim that is an inch wider all the way around than it currently is. Much easier and a lot more room for forgiveness for shots that are slightly off. If they played one-on-one he would destroy her. How about we give Caitlin her due in the women's and leave the silly male comparisons out of it.

Double teams/triple teams, half court traps, full court 1 on 1 pressure. They throw every single thing possible at her all game, every game. It’s insane how badly they want to stop her, and not let her do anything just to prove a point. And what has she done instead?? Broke the record for all time assists in one game at almost 20!! And is number 1 in assists per game. Instead of being selfish and trying to force to score her points, she goes nah let me just drop tons of dimes and make my teammates better. They’ve hated on this girl soooo much. They try and hurt her constantly, take cheap shots on her,play her harder than any girl in the entire league gets played!! On top of that, she’s brought a different and more exciting style of play that the players of the future are emulating and is putting butts in seats and eyeballs on T.V. screens at historic levels. As a business asset, Clark is the Golden Goose and like it or not, she will define a new WNBA in very short order. And she does all of this without being a narcissistic pain in the ass or a villain.
