Because of the AP we can get and everything having lethel hits i find my bolters doing more damage then melta and lascannons, remember if your plague marines are NOT on ground level they get plunging fire for +1 AP
Best part of the Custodes matchup now is that because of our Sticky Objectives, we control an objective until the end of the turn. So they can't charge you, take the objective and get rerolls, on top of the -2 to hit
I think rules as written you both control it. Nothing in the rules says only one unit player control an objective. You retain control until the end of the turn. They gain it (along side you) at the end of the phase.
@@Zombanetwo players cannot control an objective at the same time. Either one player controls it, or it is contested and no one controls it. If they move enough OC onto the objective to take it in the move, fight, or charge phase Death guard sticky objective stops custodes from controlling it until the end of the turn.
@MrEnvvii The rules do not say that. You are inferring that. I have read them carefully and it says you gain control and the DG player says they do not lose control until the end of the turn.
@@Zombane I don't know why you would say I am inferring that when your suggested resolution has no grounding in the actual game. There is no way for two players to simultaneously control an objective. Specific rules take precedent over general rules. Deathguard have a specific rule that stickies objectives until the end of the turn. This takes precedent over the general rule where control is taken at the end of the phase. This is not even a debate. The rules are clear on this.
@@MrEnvvii Show me the rule that says you lose control when someone else gains it. The rules only say you lose control when the check is done for control. TH-cam comments aren't the best for showing rules as I can't screenshot.
Aiden your last few videos have been fantastic. Audio has made a big change. Just out of interest, I'm running a list with double PBC, Morty, a Land raider and 2x10PM with characters against a 1K sons player with Magnus, 10 terminators, a MVB and rubrics with a couple of characters. Is the WS/BS or save contagion likely better? most of his army have either 2+ 4++ or 3+ 5++, but cover is pretty readily available in 10th so not sure which is optimal.
So most of your melee is going to be ap2 minimum so your already putting most units onto their invuln. So your correct in your analysis there my next question would be for the shooting you have. Lascannons are high ap naturally so the question there is more about your pbcs weaponry and how important you think they will be in the game but do always remember you have ferric blight as a back up. 1k sons are strange because a lot of their damage is going to be from chars and doombolt. I'd ask how many of their chars have torrent psychic attacks as some do. If he has a lot of torrent then -1ws/bs won't help as much. But as a generic rule of thumb in this match up I'd likely go with the -1WS/BS as your basically needing to deal with the 10 termies and magnus and shutting down their output should help you out to set up a big charge from your 10 man PMs into his termie brick
@@deathguarddisgustinglyresilien Brilliant thanks. Yeah he has the infernal master (the one with the 2 damage 2d6 torrent weapon and another character with a d3 dmg d6 torrent weapon, both 18" range I think). The other difficulty I am having is (I know it is map and primary objective-dependant) whether or not to let him bum-rush/alpha strike me or hope he plays it slow so I can build up contagion over the map. I have the Land raider which is pretty much the only thing that can deal with Magnus, with a bit of support from entropy cannons.

Aiden, against custodes army with no vehicles would you use -1ws/bs or -1 sv? I m thinking -1ws/bs is better since custodes unit can 1 shot in a single turn of melee 10 man Plague marines or a unit of deathshroud while -1sv doesnt boost our dmg to a level where we can 1 shot a custodes unit ? @@deathguarddisgustinglyresilien I've been thinking about this a lot and here are some of my thoughts. Tactical missions = more VP's, if you can get them done, but a lot of the time I find it hard to get tactics done just because of the lack of movement. Movement is a factor that should obviously be taken into consideration when building a list. I'm not too sure it is enough though. Not saying one can't score full points playing tactical missions, but for myself it is usually a challenge, unless I get the right kind of missions at the right time. In addition to movement, I think playstyle is important as well and my own playstyle has always been towards the defensive style. Therefore, I've been thinking about what if the tactical missions is a trap and by choosing fixed missions instead, I could heavily lean on the defensive playstyle that I think works in general better for Death Guard than a really offensive one. So, basically, go with Deploy Teleport Homer and Cleanse. Defend three objectives/play a strong midgame and force the opponent to come to you while trying to disrupt their secondary game. Really abuse the sticky rule as much as possible and bolster troops in the middle or where they are needed the most.
I was thinking about a Tau player I know when you started talking about -1 was/bs and -1 to hit. Why is it always "The Tau Guy?" I mean it's always the Tau guy... But why?

Another well done episode. Question to listeners. How many times in the episode did Aiden emphasize to never take a plague surgeon?
But for real though. Don't take one
Not enough times, do NOT take a plague surgeon. He am shite!
Question about the morty aura, it would not ignore the opponents the benefits of cover, right?
Correct!
I find the -1ws/bs really messes with peoples heads also. Edit: Kinda felt bad when my buddies Kill saw mega nobs hit Typhus' DS block with the -1ws.

A blade champion can 1 shot mortarion. I like -1 save. It makes flamers and mortars go on their invuln for no other investment which is potent
Depends what units you have yourself. If you have a lot of flamers the -1 save becomes insanely powerful vs custodes

OC/Ld Buff is good vs Drukhari. The blood rerolls make the -1Ws/Bs not great. And they dont have good saves anyways
