      It's not as bad as they're making it out to be. This is what happens when you're connected to technology 24/7. Before the internet was what it is today, you lived life stress free. The other part of this is people don't realize that Europe had even greater lockdown restrictions than the blue states they came from. Florida never had this problem as you were free to do whatever you pleased so I don't think it's about "politics" lol.

I live in the UK, but I'm planning to move to Sweden or Finland because of how awful this country has become post-brexit. I don't blame you for wanting to move from the US, though. Since Biden took office, there seem to have been more unfavorable results in America. These results include effects on the markets, such as price declines and sharp increases in inflation, as well as bank failures. I wonder if the sudden increase in interest rates will help value investors or if it would be wiser to stay away from the stock and financial markets for the time being.

    UK citizen here. It would be a more meaningful report if it didn't feature a couple moving from a ridiculously expensive city/State in the first place. Many people in the US would have to majorly downsize in terms of housing in Europe. Sure, housing isn't everything, but you have to compare it with the cost of living in various States and regions (not just big cities). Given the vastness and economic diversity of the US, using the "US as a whole" as a point of comparison, rather than individual States and even regions within States, doesn't really tell us much.

Of course, you need written proof from a doctor or hospital for these benefits, which is easy to obtain. That’s what happens when you have a government that takes care of its people.

Healthcare is about profit (there will never be universal healthcare in America), education is about profit, politics is about money and who has the biggest influence lobbying those in Washington DC. Even the judicial system is for profit( bail and prison industrial complex). America is just such a toxic society, aside from the rampant gun violence and weekly mass shootings, there’s also the opioid epidemic and high suicide rates that’s not often spoken about. Practically nothing can get done in Washington DC without it turning into a partisan slugfest. The so called richest country in the world is failing its citizens. As long as you get your own stuff and don't harm anyone it should be fine to come even illegally. Now I know you can't exactly do that in practice right now but people should be able to.

    I'm not an American but British, I've always wanted to move to America for the education experience when younger and wanted to live in those states with big houses in the US, however the only puts that idea off is the how the media portray everything there. I haven't been to the US since childhood and now nearing mid 20s, so I wouldnt say I have a good perception there. But now I've moved to Hongkong it's the same of high priced rent for a small amount of space and the cost of living is sky high.

      America has decent education depending on where you go. The thing is, it’s extremely expensive and debt in the US will break your back here. It’s a cool place to visit if you’re not from there but I wouldn’t recommend moving here. The cost of living is more than outsiders think it is here. Of course it depends where you live here too. I live in Michigan and it costs probably half to live there compared to places like New York or in California.

    Business leaders and the government need to come up with a plan to make this nation attractive for Americans to want to stay because this trend will only continue. I know the grass is not always greener on the other side but I am also one of those Americans wanting to part ways with this country.

    The reason is because high cost of everything, Lack of universal healthcare, conservatives taking away women’s rights, gun violence, poor mental health among communities, the list goes on and on. If you plan to move to another country you need to know there is no easy escape from taxes abroad for US citizens you still need to pay the government and could be subjected to double taxation. Yes that is away the government keeps you tied to the US

    • @krashd
      @krashd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      If you renounce US citizenship then you cannot be taxed but even as a European I would suggest testing the waters for at least a year or so before doing something that drastic because once citizenship is gone it can be tricky to get it back. Also it has always blown my mind that Americans can be taxed while living abroad.
