This performance opens up the genius of Ren even more if you know the original songs! How he puts 5 EDM tracks in an acoustic mashup with so fluent crossovers between the songs is so outstanding! ❤❤
@@dicodec the Fred Again songs that Ren samples in this mashup are - Jungle - Delilah (pull me out of this) - Leave me alone - Clara (the night is dark) - Angie (I've been lost) Also, check out the Tiny Desk that Fred Again did 🔥❣️👏
Lol their is vocal experts, guitar experts and filmographers all reacting to Ren, all have some insight on how good the work is, Ren is truly something else.
One thing I like about your reaction videos is you appreciate both the musicianship and the emotions in Rens songs, I usually hate reactions where people try to play along as they don't really pay attention to the feelings in the music, just the technical side of it, but you are able to do both 👍
great reaction. you don't expect a mash up of edm songs to hit you, but the way Ren weaves them together and makes it his own is amazing, not to mention that it's a whole friggin journey.
I love Ren! He's my hallpass! 😂🩷🌷💜🪻💛🏵 This man is so talented! He's got a handsome face. I believe one of his parents is latino(a). That's why the strong influence! He JUST got me into hip hop.
After reading comments in several reactions I feel less alone in that I cried about half way through and was utterly wrecked by the end. Ren has a way of connecting with his listeners on such an emotional level.
Never heard it before, But the amount of reactors and comments today on this track saying Ren could sing the phonebook or shopping list is crazy! But also very true. And we would all be just as captivated... Another great reaction brother...
“Big up” is slang for “promote” or “celebrate”. The artist that Ren is bigging up is “Fred Again”. Your reaction to this is easily the best out of all of those that I’ve watched so far (I’ve watched far too many). Thank you for that. 💛
The resonance Rens voice whether he is rapping or singing is all over ther place but somehow he manages to hold the notes and deliver beautiful vocal control. I've never come across another artist that has managed a deliver a vocal in that manner... I still can't get my head round it! Without a doubt the most talented, creative and not to mention the most likeable artist to come out of the UK in the last 30 years... we are truly blessed!
These song covers in this mash-up are from some of Fred Again music catalog (( UK Artist/DJ/Musician/Producer )) Ren's mash up is comprised of the main hooks from these EDM tracks by Fred Again, an acoustic performance by Ren makes this an outstanding stand alone piece. It's Genius!!🤯 - Jungle🔥 - Delilah (pull me out of this)🔥 - leave me alone🔥 - Clara (the night is dark)🔥 - Angie (i’ve been lost)🔥
Just heard of Fred Again today ( lol no pun intended) and HAD to look him up. Big player on the U.K. scene as he is credited with producing "Ed Sheeran's 2019 No. 6 Collaborations Project" and several others BTW. I then watched Fred's Tiny Desk Concert on NPR radio ( its only like 1/2 an hr but WOW )and OMFG...So yeah...I'm replying before I watch your reaction. I've seen several already today and excited to hear your take on it.😎
Only Ren can have us, laughing, vibing, hyped and then getting hit in the feels all in one song. The production in this I feel has gone up another level. He seems to be mastering all of his skills
Thanks Alan, appreciate your insight into the production. And yeah, I was afraid the last of this would hit you hard, it's very powerful. See you again soon.
Check out Fred again's Tiny desk performance. You'll see why Ren chose to do this. It's a beautiful performance. Just him doing everything live. It's so good.
What an incredibly moving and powerful song! Ren is a special artist who creates beautiful music! Shout out to Fred Again who is extremely talented also! Thanks for your reaction ❤
Alan, sorry I haven’t been around for a bit…. you smashed this reaction, I started crying when I saw you relate… then you composed yourself…. Well done. I hope you are well man. I appreciate your vulnerable moments…. Not saying I want you to keep exposing yourself to moments like these as I know they are exhausting and personal…. But thank you for sharing the moments you do. I appreciate you I wish you well Take care Daz Berrima, NSW, Australia
if you listen to him and how he arranges these songs especially live acoustic. he knows how to get close and personal, very intimate with the listener, almost talking and with what im talking about, is the subject matter, he hits the heart gets quiet and pesronal and then go extreme singing and pushing hard. it invokes emotions in us.
Always love your reactions and musical commentary. Ren really knows how to evoke strong emotions but why does he always wanna rip the tears out of our faces?! 😅 💔❤️🩹❤️
I appreciate your Ren reactions so much, you both seem people who are so knowledgeable and talented but struggle with finding whatever it is to make you feel complete.
Look at the Fred again Tiny desk performance. You can see why Ren chose to do a mash up of his music. Very deep emotional and beautiful. And it's just him doing everything live. It's so good.
Wow, so great to see you back with Ren... thought we'd lost you. 😉😜 Always enjoy your breakdowns and guitar demos/improv. He's cueing up a lot of new music this year.
Appreciate the reaction and insight. Been listening to this mashup almost constantly since it dropped. When I'm not it's playing in a loop in my head anyway, but it doesn't sound quite as good yet. 😂 I'm so glad you played that clip of your song Phoenix at the beginning.. Loving it and La Casa Negra.. checking out the rest! I think you should definitely put out some videos of just you playing. Seriously! From what I've heard so far you're fantastic and I'd watch for sure. 💜
So happy to see you coming back around to Ren. I always love your reactions! In regards to how he is able to create the cracks in his voice, Ren mentioned in an interview one time that he learned a lot of those techniques through Chris Liepe's channel. I love the control he has over the rasp in his voice. It adds emotion but still sounds amazing!
Talking about rhe colors and general vibe of this song and the next where he does Back on 79/Message in a Bottle (Retake)....also cool set / colors vibe.... Both are set up in similar fashion to the original. Part of his homage to the music he likes. Fred Again has one of these songs in a dark room with view of nighttime city too.
Everybody is boping their heads untill that last part.. That's what Ren can do. Making a EDM joint into an acoustic version with a mash up. Wow, who does that!!?? Ren is the goat for making us feel hurt during that last part.
He completely sideswiped me at the end. Love sharing new Ren with you, I always hear something new. Sending you a hug, and hoping life is kind to you this week. ❤
One of Fred again videos that goes along with one of the songs in this mashup has text at the beginning telling about how he has fallen in love and the person was really sick well he was doing all the shows. That little rendition for me is nothing compared to how he expresses it but it's worth finding showing him split between the two worlds and being on the phone all the time. Party and music then sitting on a bench out of the way trying to hear on the phone.
Just another thruly and emotional but proff. reaction from you bay the way phone book was sang Jeff B . if I m not mistaken,.one of my favorite ever. No tears came to me,only my throat tightened at the end .
Hey dude go ahead just finally came up with you. Been awhile since I've been on your channel and always miss your insightful look at the music. I was here a lot at one point and it was all when I discovered Falling in Reverse as well as Ren. I have always appreciated your openness you're willingness to express your emotions and be real. Very uncommon it seems that much needed. I've always cared about myself that I cry for commercials I cry good things I cry any kind of emotional type thing and even though sometimes I'd like to be able to stem the flow I have also decided that I would much rather be that way in the opposite. Take care of yourself. Look forward to seeing you more.
PS. I did watch this before trying to track down the original by Fred Again. I had never heard of him. So now what little I've dug into it I'm pretty impressed. It seems to be the case with Ren I end up discovering unknown jewels because he either samples / covers something or sings with them. I'm not sure if I just run across it all on its own I would have necessarily paid enough attention to recognize what was all happening.
Great reaction! I was checking out your ren playlist you linked and it looks like ive seen them all.. but i was looking for Loco from the sick boi album and didnt see it. I would love to see your reaction to that bc of how he puts the song together!
A condensation of all human experience, “I've been lost for a while, but I'm really trying.” Beautiful! Also, don’t apologize for laughing at the word boobies. it's a funny word 🤣

I just want to second that. Freda again’s Tiny Desk Concerts is… simply amazing. How an EDM Dj can transform his own work like that is mind-blowing.
Fred Again did a wonderful NPR Tiny Desk Concert available on YT.
Dude, firstly, the last part of this song hits everyone hard and secondly (trust me on this, I’m 67) saying “boobies” out loud will always be funny 😂
🤣🤣🤣
BOOBIES!!!! LMBO... Trudat! 😊
Both are statements of fact.
Great comment dude. 🤣
Even Ren almost breaks on the line himself. Sounded like he was suppressing his own chuckle
He’s an empathy conduit. You immediately know that he knows pain and loss. So wild to watch everyone bop to this until the last section. 😢

This is such an incredible performance. The end part hits like a brick! I felt it too. Great reaction and breakdown ❤❤
I totally agree!
The ending is beautifully sad. Every time I see his shaky hand grab his knee, that’s when I tear up. 👍💕

Yea the Tiny desk performance is
amazing. When he sings it so emotional. I hope he gets to hear Ren's mashup.
The Artist is called Fred again. What Ren means by Big up Fred is give or show Fred again Love. Great to see you back on a Ren reaction. Thank you.

Fred Again does electronic dance music as far as I know. Would be interesting to see how he changed it up and stuff.

I swear, Ren has made my cry more than anyone. One second we're good, 30 seconds later, tears. He's magical. Always love your reactions!
Yes, the "I've been lost" line has an impact like Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah". The last reverb note is left ringing in the night.
