The dub imo is funnier. They are still fighting who’s right but Ikkaku has a funny line calling Ichigo all brawn but no brains. Less about language skills and more an overall intelligence insult. Ichigo’s running away line is different. He says I’m never fighting you again, you’re crazy…

As someone who watched mostly Dragon Ball stuff, getting into Bleach and realizing Whis' voice actor also voice acted as Ichigo is, once again, a testament to the range of incredible voice actors
I always thought Ikkaku was knocked out by the same force that blew out the windows. I never noticed than Kenpachi was a huge moron and hit the wrong guy! Fucking hilarious!
I love how after Zaraki cuts Ichigo's bokken, we see Ichigo simply *start to process what's happening* We don't see an actual facial reaction, the next time we see him after Zaraki's attack, he's already running in the most hysterical way possible Zaraki's distraught reaction is also comedically perfect too

It is really tru that Ichigo' s skills and power are fluctuating. First, he blocked Ikaku using two hands while Ikakau was using one hand. Second , he was unable to react to the sword swing of Kenpachi. And suddenly, he was able swap with Ikaku and ran away . Even , Yachiru noticed him when he was already far away.
I actually prefer the dub for this show, Ichigo sounds more like I would imagine he would, a teenager, and kenpachi still sounds exactly like how I would expect him to, and the wording is better in some places I feel
that kind of makes me think too... if sickbeds are for sick people, what do you call those beds for the injured? do you still call it sickbed? but they're not sick... urgh... damn you ichigo, making me think of stupid things...

The translation is off. Instead of "grammar", it's suppose to be "Japanese" since they're using the word kokugo, and Ichigo's argument is suppose to be "Japanese is my best subject!!", but it works and its funny, nevertheless Kokugo: japanese Bunpou: grammar
