I recently bought the candy Emerald Green z 650 RS and I love it. Plenty of power with a nice light handling feel. I found mine for $7200 us dollars brand new. Someone makes a front quarter fender that looks awesome in matching colors.

I recently stoped in a Kawasai dealership and saw a Z650RS with the black and gray paint and loved it. I live in the states where many of our highways have a 70 mph speed limit so I would be looking to lower the rpm at highway speeds. I found a 42 tooth rear spocket to replace the OEM 46 tooth spocket but don't know how much that would drop the rpms at say 60 mph. (I'd love to know) I'd also add a flyscreen, I wouldn't want to ruin the bike's good looks with a full sized windshield. And I'd love to find a rear luggage rack to mount a top trunk on to carry our rain suits and jackets.

It’s easily going to do 70mph lowering the revs is a good idea , but can change how the speedometer reads the current speed. Interesting that it’s a bike you would choose for highway riding, but it proves you can use it for any road type.

@@BlueHippoMoto I like the looks of it and a 650 cc bike is all I need. I just don't like it running 4500 rpm most of the day. If I could drop that down closer to 3000 to 3500 rpm I think I would LOVE it. I had a 900cc bike once and I'm afraid I'd kill myself on a Z900RS. There sems to be a disconnect beteen my brain (common sense) and the trottle of a fast motorcycle.

I think if you like that low rpm motor with torque the speed twin 900 will do that and has similar BHP but to me it felt smaller & doesn’t have the twin clocks. But certainly I’d ride both see which you like most

the normal z650 (same engine) has a smaller rear sprocket from factory I'm going to switch to that one when chain is worn.

@@willywar01 From what I saw on the Kasaki web site they both have a 46 tooth rear spocket. Dennis Kirk has a wide selection tanging ftom 41 to 46 teeth.

It's a wonderful bike. Handles well. Engine pulls like a train. And it's low enough for us short arses. Light very light. But.....lacks a bit of punch at the bottom. Feels strangled...I'd have one anyway. Just get that pipe changed

The power curve is higher in the rev range than say the street twin, but it keeps going longer I feel than the street twin from memory. I’d guess it would be more strangled as euro 5 compliant compared to older 650cc motors
