And that was their Disney+ kickstarter show. This is *just* an anime adaptation, but the fact they put so much budget into it and actually listened and took advice from Oda shows they clearly want this to succeed.

This series is nothing short of a miracle ! And yes, that finale with all the friends they've made around the ocean during the season smiling at the poster (Employee of the month made me chuckle quite a bit !) and the kids comeback for the final sendoff to their dreams got me hard too ! That was an absolutely brilliant directing ! The fact that it is the absolute best series of the moment when there's a freakking STAR WARS series that's airing concurrently is wild ! And very much a testament of how the landscape of Hollywood might change in the future, with less people interested in MCU/Star Wars, and more towards successful manga/anime adaptation. Anime has a very different style, morality, and beats of storytelling, so I can totally see good adaptations like this one reshaping the future landscape of entertainment, especially now that the superhero fatigue discussion is raging, and Star Wars has been very hit or miss. As a long time fan of Avatar, I was very nervous about it when the 2 co-creators of the OG franchise have left the project, but after all the hype from the actors, and now Netflix flexing its Live action adaptation skills with One Piece, I'm now looking forward for ATLA ! As far as we know, for a second season, well, th estrikes are still going on, so no shooting planned for the foreseeable future, but apparently the producers have said that the scripts for s2 are ready to go, so all in all, if you count 10 months of shooting and another year at least for VFX (the second arc will be much crazier than East Blue), you can count nothing shorter than 2 years. Sure, it sucks, but hey ! I'd very much rather have to wait a bit longer and have them deliver, rather than a rushed product ! This season took them years to prepare, so if the same team keeps on going, we're in good hands.
honestly yes, I am a bit more optimistic about ATLA than before but I'm still worried exactly because of the original creators leaving the project and because of everything I've heard before (them wanting to age up the characters, sex scenes, „make it more darker“ which already sucked ass for the live action adaption of Winx Club which turned out TERRIBLY) so yeah.. I'm not convinced yet sadly especially because we don't have the same people working on ATLA that we have for One Piece😅 but hey.. it can't be worse than the previous adaption we don't talk about right?
They did Garp so much justice in this show, he feels more badass. He also felt way more relevant than he did in the anime along with Koby and helmeppo.
@@PortgasDAce-wt2qu I just hope in next season, Oda adds in more scenes and changes of Koby and Helmeppo's training in the anime. Like have Koby train with Garp while Meppo trains with Bogard or have both spar with Bogard first until they eventually spar with Garp

They did an excellent job with the characters and the writing. As well as the look and vibe of the world. That’s what really mattered to me, personally. I had a few nitpicks, but overall, best current live-action anime adaptation so far imo. If season 2 is a go, I hope they continue with this kind of quality and make it better than the 1st season while staying true to the anime/manga. There can be minor changes, but it has to work and make sense. Much like some of the stuff in this season.

I totally understand that the 1000 episode commitment sounds scary. But, you can opt for "One Pace" instead. it's a trimmed down version of the One Piece episodes. It doesn't cut anything significant. But, gets rid of the fillers. Would love you see you guys react to the anime.♥

Feels like Season 1 was very very important for Oda, having backstories of the crew. Now S2 is more about World building, character building before W-b always. Guess Oda might not be involved much next time, but still his blessing will do.
You guys should definitely react to the anime. I know it's long but it's well worth it. It's so freaking good. You can do it with 3 episodes a day. That should be a little under an hour of watch time so it's not impossible.
Honestly, for people doing reactions and covering a lot of other shows, I recommend they only watch the anime for the arcs the live action has covered. They've got a lot of other things to watch and it won't really spoil the live action for when they get to it. It'll just give them a slightly more complete understanding of the characters and arcs.
The story gets better and better. Here you just have a tiny glimpse of the world. If you have questions now.... the future is crazy. I want the live action at least to show more of how big all OP world is. It truly feels alive.

Exactly correct to say that this adaptation stays true to the heart of the story. It's about friendship (nakama) and living your dreams, which is Luffy's idea of a pirate: just being free to follow your dreams and help people with your friends and gather more cool people for the crew. A large part of the kudos, I think goes to Oda, the creator of the manga, being on board and having final say over the scenes and story being condensed the right way and conveying what it's meant to convey and Netflix funding what sounds like a labor of love.
I don't think I've seen any reactors pick up on the fact that Shanks is completely unfazed by Mihawk's appearance, and even thinks he can take him on one-armed, to the point he's cracking jokes about matching Mihawk in battle even with that handicap. We saw what Mihawk can do and how far above our crew the power levels in this world can go, so that should give you a hint of how powerful Shanks is.
It thrills me to know that you guys enjoyed the One Piece Live Action! This story is extremely special to me because of the themes dealing with hope and sorrow, pain and healing, injustice and justice, unforgivable crimes and redemption, adventure, political intrigue and epic victories for those you have been oppressed. While it doesn't show it in this, scurvy is still a thing in the One Piece universe, but it's rarely ever a thing because it's cause is widely known and accounted for in the One Piece world. But, some apparently don't know about it. In the anime, before Barratie, Sanji, etc they encounter someone who was dying of scurvy and Nami knew what it was right away, so they gave him limes and lime juice. The tangerine trees can also be seen as an extra side thing to address it since they left the part about limes and scurvy out. Add it as a cooking tool for Sanji to ensure they don't succumb to scurvy themselves. Since it doesn't really play a major part in the story, I wouldn't really consider it spoiler territory. @@raveoreynolds6049 Yeah they could do the same method like how Sandman (spiderman villain) was made

I'm telling you a truth. When I first saw the poster and the trailer of One Piece I thought it's another good comedy adventure story. I would have never thought in A MILLION YEARS that this would be such an emotional roller-coaster for me. It was such a beautiful and bittersweet journey. Shout out to all the cast and crew and the creators of this masterpiece. I can't wait for the next season. And I liked your reaction guys, so made me feel I'm not the only one who got emotional by this beautiful show.

One of the canon reasons Luffy can punch so hard and take big hits is because his bones are rubber and they won't fracture. Getting punched by him is like getting hit by a hard rubber sledgehammer.
As a die-hard fan of One Piece, I admit this show more than just satisfied me. My friends and I binge watched it on August 31 and then binge watched it again with Japanese dub on September 1. The only disappointing thing about this is that I need to wait to get next seasons. I hate waiting 😂😂😂
Just keep watching Season 1 in different languages 🤣
@@Kanoog I'm Ukrainian and I'm actually gonna show this show to my girlfriend in the Ukrainian language lmao 🤣 Also I studied Spanish once so it may be the case to try to remember it with the show 🤣🤣🤣
I hate waiting so much its not even funny.
The Japanese is absolutely terrible, the exaggerated voice overs don't work well in live action, in the anime it translates wayyy better.
i thank god everyday us one piece fans dodged the live action curse bullet 💀
That ending hits me hard as a fan since 2014. Brings so much memories.
And thank you for setting sail with us, Jaby and Achara!
There's a good reason why the manga/anime has been ongoing after all these years. It never stops bringing all the feelings (Joy, sadness, excitement, everything!). The best part is that it will only get better and better.
Already commented on CineDesi channel, might as well say hi here as well. 😆 Thank you for reacting to the show, Achara & Jaby. Both of your laughters and tears are very contagious. See you guys on season 2~ Hopefully!
Damn yall hit the nail in the head with your review at the end. You picked up on all the right emotions and excitement. Respect for you guys for watching and the creators for capturing all that well for you guys
I hope they get more budget for season 2 coz the world is going to get bigger and bigger as the story progresses.
Agreed. Certain characters will need to be cg. Like a certain reindeer.
They already had a 138million budget for 8 episodes, which is mind-boggling. Even the Mandolorian, with Disney’s wallet, was *only* 100million for their first 8 episodes. And that was their Disney+ kickstarter show.
This is *just* an anime adaptation, but the fact they put so much budget into it and actually listened and took advice from Oda shows they clearly want this to succeed.
@@willeh1947 it's just mind-boggling to hear that they had 138 million for season 1 but couldn't make the island/locations manga-accurate. Damn
Sanji always puts his hands in his pockets because, as a cook, they are vital, so he protects them, which is why both he and Zeff fight with a style that does not use their hands. Sanji's fighting style was taught to him by Zeff.

Hey, you felt the feels the OG fans feel. This was a fun journey with you two. And it only continues for the entire adventure, only more to look forward too! 😁
It's fun to go back to the very beginning of the show at the Gold Roger's execution and find all these characters (young version) in the crowd.
Its so beautiful how they shot that last scene, always bring peace and lift my emotion to that point that i remember my teenager days about dreaming of what i wanted to be when i grow up, but yeah! Real life suck! Haha what a beautiful show.
note that the author was involved with casting and production, and also they couldn't screw it over given its status as the most popular manga by far
Oda must hate Ben Beckman 🤷🏻♀️
Your reaction to the final scene is EXACTLY what One Piece is all about; dreams, adventure, and friendship. The absolute best.
Right? I felt like Koby and Helmeppo's development in the anime felt "sudden". But with this live action, it gave more of their side and I liked that.
@@PortgasDAce-wt2qu I just hope in next season, Oda adds in more scenes and changes of Koby and Helmeppo's training in the anime. Like have Koby train with Garp while Meppo trains with Bogard or have both spar with Bogard first until they eventually spar with Garp
That barrel scene hits a lot, especially that they're showing their younger selves, made me bawl tbh. I'm gonna miss the entire casts, they did so well😭
They did an excellent job with the characters and the writing. Much like some of the stuff in this season.
they didn't do an excellent job with the characters at all , most of them is downgraded tbh
@@wwe12153 Nothing is gonna be able to compete with the original crew, but they did a pretty good job capturing the essence of the characters. Some aspects were a bit lacking, but overall good.
@@wwe12153you're funny. 😂 a lot of One Piece anime fans appreciated this show. You just stick to anime too much. 😂
@@wwe12153 Again, I had a few nitpicks. It’s not the perfect live-action anime adaptation. But I meant to say they did a good job of capturing the essence of the characters and the majority of the writing. I’ll give them extra points for being creative with how characters interact with their bounty posters as well. It’s a fun element that I personally enjoyed. All of that combined is already one huge step over other live-action anime adaptations imo.
For me its still edge of tomorrow a.k.a all you need is kill or speed racer for the best live-action adaptation, OP is very close behind them, but i gotta say both those movie have simpler source material compared to OP and ofc bigger budgets too
I totally understand that the 1000 episode commitment sounds scary. But, you can opt for "One Pace" instead. it's a trimmed down version of the One Piece episodes. It doesn't cut anything significant. But, gets rid of the fillers. Would love you see you guys react to the anime.♥
Where to watch
@@ezravldina3467
Agreed
@@ezravldina3467 its just a website called "One Pace" if you'll look ot up on google, that's the first result you'll get. You'll notice that the episodes will be more than an hour long, that's because they mix like 5 episodes into a single episode to keep the pacing consistent.
It's so rare for a show to make you feel...happy...
I think we should appreciate netflix and the show runners for bringing the creator of the one piece, the oda on board, firstly they give him his respected place and secondly we get to know what his vision is, of how one piece should look like in live action.
I can't wait for second session and I hope they'll continue this series and make it big, like breaking bad or got.
Nami's mom is named Bellemere, idk if that was clarified. Also her new tattoo is a pinwheel and a tangerine.
It's literally "Stepmother" in French LOL
Fun fact, if someone has "Super Speed" or "Super Strength", that does not mean they are a Devil Fruit user. If it's something basic, it's typically just something they trained for. If it's a Devil Fruit, they will typically say it out right.
Plus. It's an anime show.
@@jobcampbell8767 Ya a lot of people aren't getting the anime logic it seems. It's not properly explained in the show to be fair that there is a difference between Devil Fruit and super powers.

I'm literally rewatching their reaction for the 4th time now. They are the best reactor among Non-OnePiece fans yet.
Thanks for putting these out so fast!
That’s why the anime of one piece has so much fans because the stories of each character teaches something
And the crazy part is this season only covered of about 5% of what crazy madness the whole series is
Watching you guys tear up after connecting so well with the characters and having feelings for them because after all the trouble they get to follow their dreams makes me so sure they nailed this live action and the essence of one piece to perfection
Feels like Season 1 was very very important for Oda, having backstories of the crew. Now S2 is more about World building, character building before W-b always. Guess Oda might not be involved much next time, but still his blessing will do.
Garp was on another level
You guys should definitely react to the anime. I know it's long but it's well worth it. It's so freaking good.
You can do it with 3 episodes a day. That should be a little under an hour of watch time so it's not impossible.
Honestly, for people doing reactions and covering a lot of other shows, I recommend they only watch the anime for the arcs the live action has covered. They've got a lot of other things to watch and it won't really spoil the live action for when they get to it. It'll just give them a slightly more complete understanding of the characters and arcs.
This was a very good finale! Can’t wait for season 2!
I've been telling people it's one of the best finales I've seen in a very long time.
@@Kanoogbecause it is! I agree with you!

The story gets better and better. Here you just have a tiny glimpse of the world. If you have questions now.... the future is crazy. I want the live action at least to show more of how big all OP world is. It truly feels alive.
And just you wait. There are more characters out there with emotional and beautiful stories for you guys to encounter and meet. Glad you enjoyed S1.

Sanji's like "My body is a weapon" 😂😂 you have no idea how right you are.
Garp: You’re on your own now
Meaning: I can’t protect you anymore. In the future, I would have to choose my work and own brand of justice instead of you. Yet, you are my grandson and I am proud of you no matter what the life you choose.

Luffy was definitely trying to hit his grandfather. But, Garp is up there with Mihawk as one of the top-tiers of the verse.

@@perfecthalf7309 I'm pretty sure Garp is the strongest character we see on screen. I think I know which two you placed above him but I am not sure I'd agree they're above him. Glad that you picked up on how powerful Garp (Luffy's granpa) is, what you have seen here is barely 5% of his actual strength.
Totally! I love how Oda explores the power structure of the characters that ate the fruit and those that didn't... and other "special" groups of characters 😊
This is basically the prologue to One Piece proper, and it’s such a great adventure!
We saw what Mihawk can do and how far above our crew the power levels in this world can go, so that should give you a hint of how powerful Shanks is.
what a journey you guys are now part of the crew, thank you!

Luffy and the Straw Hats bring joy to everyone they help along their journey and every member is important to each others journey. One Piece has it all. I recommed reacting to "The Appeal of One Piece | Where to Start”, “The Breathtaking World of One Piece” and “Why You Should Watch / Read One Piece”. These videos give you One Piece's strengths and weakness, a better look at the deep storytelling that Oda has perfected with each character and the lore of this world!
the beauty of one piece is that you can see this much and already feel like you got a lot out of the story! 1000 eps of the anime is definitely intimidating but the live action covered only 45 eps and its already a great journey.
its a good trial to see if you like the anime enough to continue
You now know how Garp can go toe to toe with Roger.😅
they also did the wilhelm scream when the boat got cut in half by Mihawk.. its always fun recognizing it.
ONE PIECE will always be remembered as the 1st show that finally got live action anime right.
I loved your reaction to the show. It was just so genuine ❤️
And I as a long time one piece fan (manga and anime) just loved that they get the atmosphere and the emotions right in the live action. even for not yet one piece fans. That was my biggest concern, that they can't conjure the special atmosphere and emotions of the manga/anime. But they did it beautifully and even the look of everything (except ben beckman 😅) was just amazing for me.
I have lowwww expectation for all Netflix adaptations but this one works. I quite enjoy it.
No one escapes from getting emotional at that final scene. Cutting in the kids was such a genius idea, one that wasn’t in the original script! Glad you enjoyed the show!

Laughing is important to the story. Characters laugh at important moments or times of realization. That’s why Garp laughed at the end. He realized that Zeph was right and that it’s the new generation’s time
This was fun. I hope they make a season 2!
Just info left on the cutting room floor for the TV series.
