@@modmaciek I don’t even care about the writing, the setting alone is one of the most interesting I can think of, the combination of old looking fmv footage being projected in a concrete, brutalist federal building with huge redwood trees in the middle of these giant spiraling staircases, and the way they overlay fmv footage of like the former director or the board over the in game graphics, (the physics and destruction still look amazing in control), the general mixed media aesthetic, the threshold kids, all the documents you collect which contributes to the environmental storytelling, the themes and influences from like scp to jungian archetypes, etc. are all just some of the coolest shit I’ve seen in a video game. The combat and movement are also solid imo so it makes exploring the oldest house even more exciting. They could’ve done more with the shifting geometry and physical space in the oldest house, and the story is fairly anticlimactic, but otherwise it’s a great game.
