Community Dressing: Bunschoten - Spakenburg

‘Community Dressing’ is a documentary series about the Dutch National Costumes. As a researcher, I will look through the regional costumes to define the state of contemporary fashion consumption. By focusing on the almost disappeared Dutch costumes and its traditions, standards, values, creation and its passing, I hope to be able to offer a glance at the costumes compared to today's fashion system. That's why I'm going to interview experts, craftsmen and wearers to answer the following question; How has the current fashion system changed and / or stayed the same relative to costume dressing?
Discover the regional dress of Bunschoten - Spakenburg in episode III of Community Dressing. Get to know what it is like to still wear this costume in the twentyfirst century; how the Spakenburgers use color to show their state of mourning and learn why the current fashion system has become obsolete.
