Through 7 episodes, the only emotional reaction I got was shedding a tear when Frasier & Freddy reminisced about Martin in episode 1. MASH was brilliant - surgeons trying to save lives in the Korean War when armies were trying to destroy each other; and All In The Family - Archie the bigot dealing with social changes in the 70's - dramedy at its best.

What is missing from Frederick is that he is TOO NORMAL. It would have been great if he had flashbacks of his childhood, or maybe where as normal as he tried to be his inner nerd keeps popping out, or if he periodically can't help correcting his friends.
Just FYI. Frasier--original series and this--takes place in an alternate reality. See, the Frasier Crane on Cheers didn't have a cop as a father. He said both his parents were scientists, and his father was dead. They tried to explain this in the false (but amusing) reality where his mother is dead (though she appeared on Cheers, no mention of her husband being alive and a cop, and why would that snobby woman marry a cop? Why would he marry her?) And no mention of Niles, ever. Like it never once came up he had a brother? C'mon. Now you could explain this by the Cheers writers not thinking ahead to a spinoff, with the need for supporting characters who would provide humorous counterpoint. So they just scrapped all previous character backstory, which was probably a good idea for a show that had to stand on its own feet. But I explain it as an alternate reality, some kind of dimensional rift, and that's why I don't have to believe Frasier and Lilith got divorced. Or that Sam and Diane didn't get back together again after the Cheers finale (probably multiple times). Or that Cliff and Paul slept with Sam's fiance. Or that Sam had a fiance other than Diane. Or that she was played by Tea Leoni. (Yes, he was married before Cheers started, but that was probably an alternate reality too). Or that Rebecca's marriage didn't work out. Nothing revealed about on Frasier has any bearing at all on what happened to the characters in the the Cheers-verse. Hey, The Avenger movies do this all the time! It's a thing!
The whole Crane family comes together to drag Alan, it's heartwarming.
The Jurassic Park bit was the perfect closer, but my personal favorite is Freddy's "simple country lawyer" bit ^_^

Great show
Thanksgiving dinner wasn't as cooked as Alan was!
