Oh wow! I love the idea of a backpack with a pin display. I hope they’ll make them in more designs. My 9 year old son has been collecting ride/attraction-themed pins, and he would LOVE a Disneyland Resort backpack like that.
My family and I visited Disney a few weeks ago and Hollywood Studios was our favorite park this time, surprisingly! We loved Rise of the Resistance, Mickey and Minnie runaway railway, slinky dog dash, those are all new additions since our last visit and we had the best time. And we’ve always loved Tower of Terror!! Love the decorations there too 🎄
So Glad you guys are doing this Series on the Genie/Lighting lane system. But, I have to agree with you Tim..paying $10 or any extra fee for an Attraction that I had already paid my Park ticket for isn't worth the trip this time around in my opinion. I'm a pre-Planner & I like to plan ahead & get a schedule before I head to Disney. I miss the Fastpass+ System. To me a Trip to Disney during this time is not worth it. They need to Make it easier on those who travel with multiple generations of Family Members, etc. Sadly Disney has lost that touch-in my opinion. Hope you guys take Jackson soon to see Beauty & The Beast: Live On Stage & Fantasmic when it opens back up sometime soon.
I agree too! While I spend a ton of time planning, researching, dreaming... When we hit the park, we tend to do what calls us at the moment, anchored only by a dinner reservation (most days) and a few FP+s. I also have a family of four, so individual LL will add up, and G+ requires too much phone time and not enough flexibility for us. I'm sad, but we will likely still go in 2023 when we were planning on going again. We talk about this a bit in our episodes, but I'm largely keeping my head down and hoping it changes before I go back - M
We went on Wednesday, and stood in the Rise of the Resistance line for 50min at a posted 1hr 30min wait time. However, the ride was broken soon after we rode and was down the rest of the day. We walked through employee routes and I immediately knew we were skipping BB8 and Rey’s part as well as the ship ride with Ackbar. We stood in the room with Kylo Ren and Hux for quite some time before the Resistance “rescued us” and also noticed that elements like Kylo Ren’s lightsaber coming down on us were missing from the ride portion. It really sucks that half the ride was not working, but I’m still thankful I got to experience at least part of the ride during my trip.

I think they calculate the wait time from the end of the line to the pre-show so you technicolor waited 3min instead of the posted 10min for Mickey and Minnie and you only waited 7min to get to the beginning of Rise
The best part about TSL is the aliens Christmas music! They have 2 songs. And also Buzz never had a Christmas hat on. They didn't really have any decorations last year either.

I've jogged on some of the other ships and there was a point when you had to run through an interior corridor to go from one side to the other. I noticed it was also where service dogs were taken to relieve themselves.

I agree, Tim, the decorations at the Studios are the best, with the retro/vintage look. If the tree is the same out front front (outside the entrance gates, on the way to the bus stops and boat dock), I loved it too - again -a very retro - with huge Santa heads all over it! So festive!! That backpack with the see-through pin board" is really cool, and a great idea, but NOT for that price! :( That bacon cheeseburger looked pathetic - didn't even see any bacon on it, and cheese not even ON it, but sliding into the dish. Sad. The DIS said that reindeer mousse was delicious. I wouldn't like the caramel part either (too sweet!) but the peanut butter and pretzel shortbread cookie - um - heck YEAH!!! :) :) All the Beacons of Magic I've seen are really cool, and well done!!! I literally got goosebumps, and spent the longest time, when I saw Walt's desk many years ago, when it was "One Man's Dream" A private pool for a suite on the Wish - now that's COOL - I'm sure it's like $10,000 a night, but still cool! LOL Wow - is the gold already wearing off of the Woody character's face, of is that something spattered all over it? Either way - not a good look. Sorry - but I've seen short waits in a LOT of cases on other vlogs - and it seems like they're trying to get you to waste money on Lightning Lanes by TOTALLY over estimating wait times. What an underhanded tactic. :( :(
Keel coins are a big part of the superstitions involved with ship building and operations. My parents, after years of sailing, bought a new boat. Sailboats are transported on the freewaywith the mast laid flat. Before the mast was stepped (put up with a crane),my folks put down a coin from the year they got married. The mast was made fast to the keel (at the center lengthwise of the boat. Keeps are much bigger proportionally on sailboats and provide the stability. Pirates keel hauled their enemies buy fastening them to lines (no ropes on ships) and drag them from one end to the other, fastened tightly so the victim would scrape along the barnacles on the hull. Long explanation, sorry. One more superstition, starting out on a Friday is bad luck. You'll never need to worry, Jackson is enough good luck to cancel anything bad!

I used genie when it first came out and had glitches... they don't train CM's to use it... I wanted to use it for Remy's (I'm still unclear on this one since you need a boarding pass) or ROTR ( i just waited in the 2hr+ stand by...) but the individual LL are always gone super early...

I know COVID is a big part of this problem, but I also feel like Christmas is being overshadowed by the 50th anniversary celebration.
I feel like with all the Disney Genie and lightning lane testing you have been doing, it might be time to also test the actual wait/vs posted wait times. As well as possibly the touring plans Lines App wait times. I have heard they are sometimes more accurate than the disney app wait times.

Walt got a telegram saying there was some problems at the factory. So he went home early she stayed. When Walt got back he could not find out who sent the telegram. True!
