The performance of this song makes your tongue fall out - Gary Moore listens from the grave and does not believe that it is possible to perform it so well!
I always said that listening to Gary Moore was like softly having your neck kissed! That’s the best way for me to describe the way his music makes me feel!
I can only imagine Tommy and Gary working together on a project. The earth would for sure shatter! Thank you again and again for all you do for us Tommy!
I close my eyes and remember the talent we lost in February 2011. Such a legacy left to us by that son of Ireland and now Tommy has picked up the torch and relit the fire. Cheers Tommy you have done Gary proud 👏
Yes, Gary Moore, Gary Moore. Only the universe is bigger than Gary Moore. Sometimes I doubt it. At the 50th anniversary of Fender when Gary Moore played Red House, phenomenal 😊
The Stockholm tour was after his band mate died, Gary put all his emotion into this song in the live at Stockholm video, and he not shed a tear, all his tears were in his guitar strings.
I waited patiently for this cover, and the wait was rewarded! This touched every corner of my soul. I believe Gary's spirit was there with you the whole time. A man and a guitar, can there be anything better. Thank you for keeping Gary's music alive. 🎸
I got married to "Still Got the Blues" song. But it was played on a sax. Garry Moore was one of the best. Congratulations on the interpretation! He would be proud!
I'm here again, just to close my eyes and listen to the beautiful and melancholic melody. You play your guitar with just as much feeling and passion as Gary. I just love it.
Gary Moore is a genius. I know you admire him. Gary Moore is a talent that seemingly cannot be surpassed. But Tommy, you did it. It sounds so incredible, so amazing. How is it that after you do a cover, no longer want to listen to the original? Although I listen to this melody both in the original and your cover. But mostly your cover.
Gary Moore's guitar playing was the most passionate and emotive I've ever heard. You can literally FEEL the raw emotion pouring out through each note. Tommy, this version PERFECTLY captures that exact sensation of passion and emotion in every single note. While we live for your various covers where we gets your amazing voice shining through with power, passion, grace, and intensity, this song doesn't need it. Gary Moore, and you as well, SING with your guitar. This is one of the most beautiful and 'relaxing' songs I've ever heard. Thank you for bringing us this 'Tommyfied' and 'Johanssonized' version of this gorgeous and glorious instrumental.
Mr. Johansson you are an amazing musician. Thank you for such a beautiful rendition of this masterpiece.Gary Moore (RIP) would be proud of this very fitting tribute to him...
Your Gary Moore covers/songs are from another world, for me Gary also have a special place in my heart and you do them so well and it's like his spirit came to you. Anyways thank you so much for the music you are bringing to us. Skål 🍻
Seeing you handling the guitar I always assumed, that you are a big fan of great Gary. After seeing you for decades with Sabaton; Mystica and your very well done solo things let me tell you, that for me you approached the same level like him, means, you don't play the guitar, you BECAME the guitar. My deepest respect!
I closed my eyes listening to this and imagined seeing Gary playing up in Heaven this song. One of the Best Guitar songs ever written and performed and you did it Awesome!!!
You're a gem, bud. This summer I listen to all your Gary Moore covers. The absolute best Summer jams you can have when out with your friends drinking. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
Used to watch Gary doing this on Isstadion 1987 video before going out on a Saturday night (yeah, I'm that old!) I remember evefy note and man, you have nailed this. Kudos.
Incredible performance!! Thank you so much for keeping Gary Moore's music alive.......it should never stop being heard. I get so emotional when I hear The Loner.....truly is a masterpiece....and you gave it all reverence Tommy. Wow!
My dude, thanks for putting out an instrumental. Everyone in the comment section is always going nuts for your voice but your guitar playing is just over the top f'n bad ass. This one brought a tear to my eye.
And Gary Moore lives on...❤️🙏❤I am so touched!!! Had been hoping for this one for such a long time!❤❤❤Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Tommy, the Master!!🙏Your talent is insane!!!🤘🎵🎸
Awesome rendition. I am so glad you are keeping Gary Moore's music alive and well for younger people to enjoy and experience. I am sure is smiling upon you for this wonderful thing you are doing for him. Take care, Tommy and. as always, God bless🙏🙏🙏
Tommy Tommy Tommy you did that again I absolutely love that sound you made me emotional I don’t know what I could say you are so amazing I could not take the tears back because you was made me emotional and thanks Tommy for all I wish you a great time in Switzerland and be careful when you are on the stage I wish you a great day and enjoy the weekend 😊
New subscriber here listening my way thru your music. This stopped me in my tracks. I sat...I listened...and I wept. So hauntingly beautiful and sad. You even made your guitars cry❤😢❤😢❤
Gary Moore ist listening to this perfectly performed version of his song on his cloud no. 7 - and he´s smiling as you play it really PERFECT!!! It´s your masterpiece, TJ!
Just returned from a fantastic week at SRF. At the campsite where we stayed, we are a large group who mostly come from North of Sweden. Between the concerts and late nights, we sit and play a lot for each other. This is a song that I think most of us have heard many times. The ones that were very clear about was that we agreed on is that you really know your Gary Moore. This song made many of us actually be a little quiet and just enjoy the blazing sunshine. Me and a few others are looking forward to going up or down to Boden to see Majestica. See you there Tommy
Thank you for this beautiful cover Tommy, I'm sure Gary would be very proud. You can really make the guitar weep, just like he did. Also, thanks to Jens for this amazing video, he did a great job
Oh my god, the loner. I asked for this song so many times. It is one of the most beautiful instrumentals I know. I can't wait to hear that. And then I will hear it over and over and over again. Thank you Tommy for doing this glorious song
I think it's the most sensual guitar song ever created... I love it...💙 I can listen to this non-stop. Nobody plays this song better than Tommy... Perfect👌 🍐🍐🍐
@@Nickallsopp92 You have the right to your opinion. I respect the creator of this song because he is brilliant. But I prefer Tommy as a guitarist - he's brilliant too:)
@renata.gruszeczka6145 as do you. Just saying the song wouldn't exist without Gary Moore, and if you haven't heard him play this song live, try this version. I have a lot of respect for Gary Moore as a Guitarist as well, and interesting fact about Moore is that he never played the exact same solo twice. His solo in the music video for "Over the Hills and Far Away" was completely different from the studio version. And it's different in this version as well. th-cam.com/video/dAHOLlLBoUA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=o0HbvKqx72OSn7Xv
@@Nickallsopp92 Wow! This version is truly amazing - the solos are a unique improvisation by Master Gary - thank you for this link, because I haven't heard it before :)
We will never know how Gary ended this song but listening to this version gives us a good idea of how the ending could have been. Great cover.
The best cover version with the finalization of the song which we never get to know how Gary ended it.
Can i stop crying now. Wow😢
It's too bad Gary's no longer with us, I'd have loved to hear him share one of his tracks with the talented Tommy. The duet would have been masterful.
RIP, Gary Moore.
❤
THE LONER JUST BROUGHT MILLIONS OF PEOPLE TOGETHER !!
as a rock´n roll veteran I feel grateful for this version - making eternal one of greatest blues guitar players ever
