Oh Bummer, I had a good take there at that mark as well when float fishing, chucked out went to adjust my drag down but to late, Bang Snap Gone as soon as it hit the water ! Lesson learned! Great vid though.
NICE fishing Wayne never stop a racing drag with your hand a sudden stop something gonna give your knots or line especially with a big running fish use your drag knob to slowly brake on it,that was a fine specimen fish for sure he’s still out there with your name on it.
It was shear panic 🤣 I know better but in that moment, with my mind thinking DOUBLE FIGURE, the rest of the world in that instance dissapeared 🤯 I still think about this fish!
@Anglingaddict75 Fishus espetit 95 and fishus wobbly 62 white flash arrived today. Out tomorrow 4am Felixstowe to get them wet. Keep up the great videos buddy.
Wow! So pissed off for you about losing that fish. I lost a nice fish last week. No idea why, but I let the line go slack when it turned. I feel your pain.
Wayne ,cracking watch 😀. I get it you want to get a big one on the lures .. but I'm desperate too see you get one on the fly !! Have you used a bubble float with a fly with spinning set up ?
I know that feeling i was fishing in Ireland near Doolin Co Clare, pulling a Patchinko across the water, whoosh flap flap, up again wallop snap.... It looked like a tuna. I just stood there and pondered at what could have been 😂😂👍
I noticed you’re not using the Penn Slammer Wayne, just having a change or not feeling the love for it? Just curious as I’m in the market for a good reel for my setup. - Cheers. 👍🏻
Hi there , Been a subscriber for ages and really enjoy your content (even bought a espetit on seeing you in action ) I see you mainly fish estuaries, I’ve got my eye on starting to fish one close to me , what in your opinion is the best tide to fish it ? And do you find it’s better in the evening or early morning ? Cheers 👍
Appreciate that you have been supporting the channel for a while. I appreciate that and glad you enjoy it. Espetit is the way to go😁 I regard to tides... its trial an error. For your estuary, I can't say what tide is best, try it all states of tide, neap, spring etc. Learn it and it will be fruitful! I'm an early a.m. guy, so I'll be biased and say first light. This time of year get down there for 3am
Tighten the drag a bit more mate. .. because the hook point won't get a full entry on a loose drag ... And don't touch the spool 😂. I'm gutted for you mate .. but keep going , persistence is key ..well done ❤❤❤
@@Anglingaddict75 I feel so sorry for you mate. Happened to me a few years ago now .. huge fish. And I've never stopped thinking what if , maybe if I etc 🤣
Great spot, know it well! But your secret is safe 😜 that bass ran so hard!!….gutted it snapped off! But we all been there. Fingers crossed you pull in a cow at some point 👌🏻
I think your drag was just a tiny little bit loose perfect for the size fish you were catching, but you should have tightened a quarter of a turn during that run instead of trying to grab the spool but these are the things we learn from and every session is a learning experience such a shame you lost that fish tho maybe a 5lb plus that fishing tho aint it

I think this is even more painful to watch than someone gettijg kick in the nuts. I feel your pain.. i lost a pb just before i could net it!! So maybe 2 feet away from me as i bullied it too much!
Play your fish more gently Wayne...i told you when you first started on the bass... no snags there so they aren't going anywhere. I think your clutch was set way too light anyway which results in 2 things. Poor hookset and lack of control during fight. Every time the clutch goes unnecessarily the fish turns its head away from you. Tighter drag means you control the fight. Also....clamping your hand over the spool is only ever going to lead to one thing mate......yep..you guessed it Hard luck though mate...feel your pain
@Anglingaddict75 it sucks doesn't it mate. Nice spot that...I fished there last week. Lots of mullet and a 56cm. Saw bigger fish under the bridge, certain they were bass, but intermingled with chunky mullet too. The road noise pissed me off so I went opposite the pontoon.
Give that drag knob a couple of turns you will have more control playing a big fish. That fish took off and you had no control with that slack drag.
Lesson learned

@@benbanham6455 awesome 👌
Let me know how you get on
Nice session! I recon your drag can/should be 2-3 clicks tighter. You can always adjust after the hook up with front drag
Couldn’t agree more. If anything less than 3 to 3.5lb is taking line, it’s too loose.

get a bombarda float pal, has a lot more advantages over a bubble
