Really is one good looking truck. As others have mentioned, a working bed would be cool but I'm sure it's only a matter of time until someone fabs up a working model of that. Great job on the video as usual!

Someone did make one for their trx6 snap on hauler
That has been my major gripe with this truck ever since traxxas cane out with it. At its price point there is no reason for the bed not be functional and also there should be rear tandem duals

Working in the towing industry I’ve been wanting this ever since the snap on one came out. Now I can finally get one. I’ll make the bed functional to match my work trucks.

Been looking forward to this one, but agree on features Traxxas missed: the biggest issues are no tilt bed & no clear windows, plus no molded grill & no body posts. A replacement clear body would solve a couple of those problems. I'm sure 3D printed grills & tilt bed assemblies are coming, but until then, I'll hold off on getting one.

This is either going to take off in the aftermarket scene like the CEN F450, become a platform for monster 6x6 crawler builds, or just peter out. It seems like a very small niche in the market. The lighting is the best part! (oh, and the extra axle too.)
A giant camper shell could be cool on the back of it, becoming an extreme overlanding rig

Trail recovery rig, winch front and rear. Fold down ramps etc... Use it to haul a rock bouncer or comp crawler into the trails. Lots of potential. A full interior would be sick too.
This new release from traxxas is really awesome the TRX6 specially this vehicle I think they got something really good here I already got my pre order This would be awesome to bring to a canshow and drive it around at the carshow of anywhere now that's epic can't wait to get mine and stay safe keep on RCING ✌️ 😀
Beautiful truck. Thanks for showing us the extended axels and covers. Seems like a good design that would be beneficial for other types of RC's. Great review. I agree that the only downside to the truck is that the bed doesn't tilt.

I channeled my inner Dukes Of Hazard on that one lol
Their radios have the same adjustments as like a spektrum dx4c. Using the menu set and battery light. You can really get the trigger feel dialed with a 9t pinion gear should have the 45t spur already on the 2 speed I run a cralmaster sport 16t 5 slot so so smooth. Cheap mods then program your trigger sensitivity to the right speed control knob. And check your steering end points in the menu those remotes offer a lot for stocker. Good job Traxxas. Man I can remember buying their traxxas rustler rtr when no other company companies offered rtr. It came with that scorpion motor mechanical speed control with servo for the throttle not electronic speed control. The transmissions were plastic gears and the white plastic was questionable. NOW look at these rigs there amazing. My first trx4 when it hit in like 2017 has yet to brake any hard parts at all. Three servos 🥲. I’m thankful these companies opened up to our scale needs and then some!!

Best to put some stakes on the sides and just make it a cargo hauler. Without a tilt bed it is stillborn.
As someone who owns the snap on truck as well as this new black truck they are both perfectly fine as is

Need to turn this into a recovery trail truck!!! Put a flat wood bed or even some kind of military box with recovery gear and tools for out on the trail!!!!
Thats exactly what I was thinking, you could easily do some flip down ramps to winch trucks up. Cool way to get a comp crawler into the trails too
That body/cab without the flat bed on a trx6 with a 5th wheel and a monsterized flatbed trailer would be the ultimate hauler setup. Could tow your cars, crawlers, boats, etc..
If you wanted something extreme that nobody else has done to go with that, use another set of trx6 rear axles on the trailer, give the trailer it's own slave ESC & motor to match the trucks, and have a powered trailer. 10x10 beast of a tow rig that will go anywhere.
For the guys complaining about not having a tilting bed yes it's a bummer but it'd be super easy to make so sliding ramps or some folding ramps

A must have rig and definitely would make a 3D print grill, do something about windows and craft the truck bed to lift so the cars drives off
The HG-P803A has the working equipment, but good luck finding just the dump part. Should be an easy fit if you can just sift through the internet rubble to find the parts.

I like that it’s different a little on the expensive side but looks to be a pretty big truck with lots of scale detail on it good job on the video
I would leave it as a hauler. Cool see traxxas listen to what we as customers want. This will definitely get added to my collection.
3D printing and a linear actuator will solve that fixed bed issue quickly. Won't take long we will have a easy tilt bed. If I could get ahold of one of these for design use I could have something ready pretty quickly.

This is the perfect platform for an amazing duece and a half! Or other military vehicle.
First thing I'd do is make it into a sliding bed, then work out & make it into a hook lift bed with a pull on dumpster. The benefit of having a couple 3d printers. ;-)
One thing I have learned over the years, as I'm sure you have as well... is that traxxas will have a plethora of upgrades in the future for this rig, I have no doubt that some upgrades are in the process, like the molded grill you spoke about, I'm pretty confident they will get the bed to move as well, all a matter of time!! Beautiful looking rig for sure
I agree. Traxxas has certainly stepped up the support accessories for their RC's. A lot of the TRX-4 options will already bolt up to the chassis, hopefully we'll see some more accessories for the specific Hauler body and bed.

Shouldn’t shift the transmission on the fly at full throttle, the shift mechanism is plastic and can break when shifting with too much torque applied.

I am completely disappointed that, the bed doesn't work like a regular tow truck what the heck. If the bed tilted and moved backwards like a regular tow truck did it would be absolutely completely unforgettably awesome, but yet they left one of the biggest parts to the imagination. I am disappointed with that part of it, if they added that feature they could have got another $400 more. other than that it looks great I won't buy one.
Definitely had to cut come costs so it’s not a $1200 rig but that thing is a must have!!
Yeah it needed to tilt. Even if it wasnt powered.
I think the bed also needed to be a little wider to accommodate other than 4tech or similar in size cars.
If they made the bed function it would add a couple hundred on the price tag it’s likely they made some compromises to keep the price down

They do have a offbrand kit you can get that makes the entire bed go down and out like a real flatbed tow truck!

Still unsure why they didn't use the titling bed from the snap on trx6. Seems like a large oversight. The people that would be investing in this would appreciate the scale use of the tilting/telescoping bed.

Custom diamond steel/hardwood bed w/swivel crane, box truck, stake bed, offroad adventure vehicle, tow truck, honey wagon, spider truck, milk truck anything else you could possibly do with a 5-ton, 10-ton truck. Whatever that figures out to be. Think I'd do the custom hardwood steel aluminum sliding tilt bed with the winch.
For me I'd turn the bed into a sideboard bed to carry drinks and whatnot while trail riding with my buddy

Strap down a sand scorcher and do a beech test, or use the bug in your crawling trails like they would use in the 80’s.
There are others currently making aftermarket beds for the snapon edition hauler on fb. Some are already modifying these beds with linear servos to make it tilt and slide 👍

The window clearing isn't a problem, the grill I'm thinking maybe a different kind of theme anyway, but you mentioned that the bed is screwed to the chassis do you think it helps to support those extended rails or does the rails have cross members to support them? And one last thing is there room for using my Custom Logo Sand Ladder's using for ramps to slide under the bed in the middle or outside of the rails? Anyhow I'm Excited Anticipating the arrival of this My First and Only (unless they release another color) TRX 6 Ultimate Flatbed Hauler

What are the benefits if a body is licensed or not? Is a licensed body going to be more accurate in terms of details and scale accuracy?
would want to turn this into a LWB crawler with 1.9 tires. Don"t want all the scale parts, lights, and the rest of the electronics so maybe i'll wait for someone to part these out

Off to buy the new arrma simply because there is no tilt option available. They had me hooked until infound out the bed is static and the trx4 is too big 🤷🏼♂️
