This is gold! 🤘 Thanks for posting man! That part at the end tripped me out where Kevin mentions that Randy was actually supposed to play on "Thunderbird" on Quiet Riot Metal Health album being that the song was actually written about Randy's departure from Quiet Riot and reflected Kevin's sadness and disappointment in Randy leaving. Thunderbird was performed live in The Dubrow band .The "Across the seas" and "Across the bay" lines in the song were in reference to Randy going off across the Atlantic to England to join The Blizzard Of Ozz and the Last verse Kevin wrote" When all is said and all is done still i live and carry on, Dont look back but think of me,Well meet again" he added post Randy's untimely passing...Such an endearing song from one brother to another and really showed how much Kevin loved Randy not only as a phenomenal musician but as a true friend and brother he really valued Randy's friendship in life and in death....RIP Randy,Kevin and Frankie

    Metal Health was the first
' heavy metal ' album I ever heard. I was maybe 10 yrs old and in 1983 you didn't hear Judas Priest or Rainbow with Dio on FM radio in rural Indiana and nobody had the albums around me . So being the first really commercially successful album of that kind of music , it was my intro to it. Of course within a couple years I had met a dude in the neighborhood who had came from California with an older brother who had stacks of NWOBHM records . Those really got my attention . I wouldn't discover the pioneers of metal like Black Sabbath til I was 15 or so.

Sounds like deja-vu bro, living in Southern Indiana as a kid my first albums were Twisted Sister, Motley Crue Quiet Riot then Ratt. This was around 84-85, and I can remember seeing all these bands like Metallica and Anthrax etc.. in magazines but never being able to hear them until probably 86'-87'... Judas Priest and Iron Maiden and a few others could be heard some once Dee Snider started hosting a show (I'm sure you are familiar with) called Head Bangers Ball. Black Sabbath filtered in around 88' and 89' for me. Growing up in middle America bro lol, good times though.

They were a bit cranky with the crowd that was 85% leather and stud wearing metal heads. Walsh was a miserable prick and started mocking the crowd and slipping in snide remarks. He was all pissed off because he wasn't being worshipped and bowed too. I use to have it on VHS and used to watch it for a laugh. The audience had zero interest in his music.

I spent the majority of that night next door at the Off Ramp cocktail lounge but then I decided to go peek in on Quiet Riot's set. Talk about poor timing, Seattle at that point in time was the world wide capital of rock music and it certainly didn't have anything to do with butt rock. Kevin Dubrow had probably the toughest set I ever saw in regards to crowd behavior. %90 of those in attendance were just there to laugh at Quiet Riot's immense decline. Beers and towels got thrown at Dubrow until finally one or the other hit him in the head and knocked off his hair piece! That humiliation put an end to the show.

I never quite got that either, but I think it was mutual--(my understanding) is Rudy wasn't into the hard partying, though he curiously remained cordial with Frankie (who was known to be Kevin's co-conspirator when it came to doing drugs).
The partying eventually turned Carlos away as well, and he has hinted at that in a number of interviews, and finally opened up about it in a very recent one.
I am unclear why Carlos and Rudy haven't put anything together of their own since their families have been close for decades with their brothers playing together in the band Hurricane. It might just be that Carlos feels that QR isn't the same with a different line-up even though his reasons for leaving back in the day included the partying issue (which he seems to imply was more Frankie's doing than Kevin's....His statement is along the lines of (I am paraphrasing not quoting) Some other person I am not comfortable naming was a bad influence on Kevin and that interfered with the friendship I had with Kevin).

Randy wouldn’t be caught dead in that thing. He wasn’t a good pilot but Randy supposedly went when the guy says his ex is on her way, and wouldn’t it be funny if I got that plane and took out her, Ozzy, me everyone. Well Randy didn’t think he was joking and went along. This guy who told Sarzo he saw the plane dipping and flying erratic then toward the bus. Last thing he saw was Randy causing the plane to veer and only clip the Bus. What an interesting read! Makes more sense than the first story. I never believed that. Wish he stayed with Quiet Riot , they treat him better and he would still be alive

Metal Health is a great album and a few other songs after that album. He was like Nugent, after awhile the over the top, loud and running the mouth in your face attitude is entertaining to a point and then it gets old. A quote from a writer that reviewed condition critical wrote, they should have named this album condition terminal. haha

Quiet Riot with Randy Rhoads wasn't anywhere. There are a bunch of videos on youtube with Randy in QR. The songs suck. No where near as good as Blizzard or Diary. That not only my opinion but also the opinion of Mrs. Rhoads. She said herself that the songs weren't really that good. Now Randy with Ozzy, Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake. Totally different story. Randy totally shined and proved he was a world class musician,
