Sir Christopher Lee, I imagine a lot of us nerds know already his incredible life story, but for those that don’t, I think an episode would be very cool!
Best Christopher Lee story was while filming Lord or the Rings...Jackson goes into a long explanation about how he wants Lee to react and Lee says, "Have you any idea what kind of noise happens when somebody’s stabbed in the back? Because I do.”
Came here exactly to talk about Nick, a bunch of the stories he told are deserving of a video like this, he for sure has some stories that are not so long as to be told in under 20 minutes.
This new direction is forking fantastic. Rex, if you’re not compiling these stories along with the paired whisk(e)y for a book… these scripts are bloody brilliant.
That would be pretty sweet. A nice book to gift to other whiskey fans would be neat. Maybe with spots drinking pauses and a spot to write your own notes.
I have been actively avoiding the high pace, lots of sound, brain rot content and steering toward more educational stuff that I can think on. I love this. thank you for bringing good into the light, instead of pushing into the algorithm and just shooting for numbers. I still fucking LOVE the other videos too lol
“Cheers-Worthy” is a great idea and I’m glad you guys have made it a series. Other commenters beat me to recommending the Sabaton song, “Unkillable Soldier,” but I’ll just add my name to the list. Their song rocks and decently pays tribute to the man himself. On that theme, will you guys do a Cheers-worthy episode for Audie Murphy?
I look forward to these videos every week. I pour myself a good glass of whiskey and take my mind off all of the nonsense that life throws at me. I hope these videos never stop. Cheers my friends
I remember when I was 16 I joined the Royal Air Force and after completing basic training I went off to train to be a Medic, and somehow Adrian Carton de Wiart came up in conversation during one of the lessons about GSW treatment and Shrapnel wounds and all of us were just howling with laughter at the absolute mad man. Been stuck in my memory for 20 years
Rex, history is often neglected. It awesome to see you find a way to highlight your love of history, bridge to knowledge of whiskey, and bridge it to a new audience. Similar to Sabaton, you help people connect with real superheroes (vs. MCU or DC), deal with their humanity, and give application. Well done!
Powers invented the airplane bottle Powers was one of my first whiskeys. Had a sip with my grandfather before he passed. He was a Powers and loved to let everyone know.
It may be a cliche choice, but this series would never be complete without a Hemingway episode. Either way, keep them coming! I'm loving them thus far.
I was waiting for the unkillable soldier by Sabaton to be played! I understand that that would be a copyright problem but it is an awesome song! And I think Rex and Pär look quite alike!
Hi Rex. Fairly new to the channel. I very much enjoy this format. I liked early hijinks, but this format is special. Hope you have more of these in the pipeline. Good writing and narration.
I went to the school he went to for a time and CDW said it was one of his unpleasant memories in life. Considering what he went on to do that pretty much sums up how good the school was
Quite a departure from this channel's usual content; good job, Rex. As for de Wiart, he was a piece of his class and times. A proper British Officer of his era did his duty, and despised emotion in their professional lives, good on him he had a human side, unlike dear old Monty.
For his influence on storytelling and culture as well as his philosophies about life, I think Joseph Campbell is Cheers-Worthy and you should make one about him.
Love these videos! Some ladies I’d like to see included: Rosalind Franklin (helped decipher the DNA double helix), Marie Curie (contributed to our understanding of radioactivity), Hedy Lamar (pioneered the technology that forms the basis of WiFi and Bluetooth)
Another glorious person whom deserves one of these Grace O'Malley pirate queen of the Celtic sea also she was near the same age as Elizabith 1st an the two were said to be friends later in life I am to poor to donate but I would love to see a cheers episode so her amazing life is not forgotten
When we talk about an Unkillabel Soldier, there are two other names who instantly came to mind. One is Rasputin. The other might actually be Cheers-Worthy. Leo Major was a Canadian soldier during World War II and the Korean war. His most impressive feat is that during World War II he managed to liberate an entire town on his own in a single night.
Rex, I am glad you did. As a soldier and a historian, I have also found Lieutenant General Carto de Wiart a fascinating and courageous individual. His exploits are legendary in the Royal Army and he is well respected and idolized to this day. I have served with many of our British Allies and they quote and reference him frequently. Cheers!
Desmond Doss (yeah, I've been watching clips from Hacksaw Ridge). What he did during WWII was nothing short of heroic, earning him an Medal of Honor. Based on his religious convictions, I imagine he was a teetotaler, but he deserves the recognition.
Seeing Adrian Carton de Wiarts wife's name makes me wonder if that is where The Animaniacs got the joke for Dot's name. Several episodes she declares her full name to be "Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca III" Always fun piecing things like that together.
"Studied law, with a thirst for war Fought in Africa, wanted more Back in Europe then straight to France He's joining the allied advance Through the Somme and the Devil's Wood All the battles that he withstood Born a soldier, enjoyed the war He always kept coming for more Never die, shot through the eye Never surrender however they try How they try, shot through the eye He'll never die"🤘🤘🤘
Not to intentionally keep the military theme, but Major Richard Winters is one of my historical role models. A man who stuck to his morals and was one of the best examples of what a leader should be.
Well, if you think Adrian Carton de Wiart was a bada$$.... I got a papercut opening a letter from the Publisher Clearing House Sweepstakes and STILL was able to open a ANOTHER bottle of Ardbeg 10 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky! 🥃 (II'm writing this from Mingary Castle near Ardnamurchan distillery)
Have you thought about doing James Doohan (yes, Scotty from Star Trek).....joined the Canadian Army, went to war, was wounded at Juno Beach (Normandy), lost a couple of fingers, was shot in the chest, but the bullet impacted a cigarette case that his brother had given him and he kept it in front of his heart (Lucky!).... and he did have an affectation for Scotch! But there are many Canadians who were exceptional during the wars, they're not hard to find!
You should do one of these for Stagecoach Mary. She was a freed slave that had a standing bet for anyone that could withstand a punch from her. She was the only woman who was allowed to drink by law in her county!
I’d like to suggest Saigo Takamori for a cheers-worthy badass. A man of character and devotion, he helped create modern Japan, led the last major rebellion against said government (its complicated) and is sometimes referred to as “the last true samurai.”
Heritage Distilling Co. Makes the Special Operations Salute Whiskey ARMY SOF EDITION. My question to you sir is who would you use this Whiskey to say Cheers too?
Please do an episode with Dan Cummins from the Timesuck podcast -- a visit or video call. He could DEFINITELY tell you all about some Magnificent Bastards.
This dude sounds more like a masochist than anything. I live near Fort Knox in Kentucky. He sounds kinda like how everyone around Ft Knox praises General Patton.
Its like you guys started doing a mini count dankula mad lads with whiskey. Mad lads and whiskey would be an epic team up. Hell he is Scottish so all more reason.
Not to pick the “obvious” but if we’re going for “cheersworthy” people with military backgrounds, Audie Murphy. I would say Alvin York as well, but he had trouble with alcoholism in his youth and swore off booze after his friend died in a drunken brawl. As for cheers-worthy, non-military specific, Andrew Carnegie. Hear me out - how many Carnegie libraries are there throughout the US? Dude might’ve been a brutal businessman and had his controversies, but he donated most of his fortune to charities, pushed for literacy throughout the US, and was an ardent pacifist. Love or hate the guy, he seemed to be trying to do “right” the older he became.

Masataka Taketsuro would be a good "Cheers-Worthy" episode.
Sir Christopher Lee, I imagine a lot of us nerds know already his incredible life story, but for those that don’t, I think an episode would be very cool!
That man is a badass
YES, so much yes!
Was thinking the exact same thing. Guy had multiple lifetimes worth of experiences before he even hit 25.
Best Christopher Lee story was while filming Lord or the Rings...Jackson goes into a long explanation about how he wants Lee to react and Lee says, "Have you any idea what kind of noise happens when somebody’s stabbed in the back? Because I do.”
You guys and the Fat Electrician should do a team up on a whiskey salute video. That would be dope. Could be called the Anti-hero whiskey Salute.
throw in Sabaton history and the party may not be youtube safe.
That would be awesome! The fat electrician is amazing!
Came here exactly to talk about Nick, a bunch of the stories he told are deserving of a video like this, he for sure has some stories that are not so long as to be told in under 20 minutes.
Had the very same thought, Willis "Ching" Lee - Olympic Sniper Turned Battleship Commander. Or, The Unstoppable 77th Infantry - Old Age & Treachery...
Cassius clay would be the most toast worthy person from history. He was a true bad ass! The most gangster politician ever!
Mad Jack Churchill. In WW2 he fought with a longbow, basket hilt broadsword, and bagpipes.
Oh that has to be the next one, the greatest adventurer of all time, he has to be
These types of videos are, by far, my favorite videos you do. Please continue doing these! Thank you for all you do.
I would agree, at least 50% off the content is this solid ha

I really enjoy this series. Thank you for showcasing exceptional men, brave, complicated, and kind.
Love these videos! The mix of well known names before and now one people probably don't know here is great!
Great episode!
'Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough. ' Mark Twain
Been really enjoying these series! Cheers! 🥃

Powers invented the airplane bottle
Powers was one of my first whiskeys. Had a sip with my grandfather before he passed. He was a Powers and loved to let everyone know.
What a phenomenal story; Irish whiskey was the perfect pairing. I'm loving these videos, keep them coming!
Thank you for this last bit. It might have brought some friends and family together over it. Slainte.
Jeremy Clarkson tells the story of his Father-In-Law during WWII, fighting at Arnhem and being awarded the VC. Worth listening to.
I am fully Enjoying these cheers segments. You should do a parody cheers episode on Daniel. Miss that Magnificent BAAASTAAARD. 😅
Sabaton History is a great youtube channel. The songs and the history behind them.
I love these historical videos. Would love to see you cover the Whiskey Rebellion.
You should look into SR-71 pilot Brian Shul. Incredible man.
the suit thing alone ... badass haha. thanks for another great story, yall!
Hi Rex. Fairly new to the channel. I very much enjoy this format. I liked early hijinks, but this format is special. Hope you have more of these in the pipeline. Good writing and narration.
Really enjoy these stories.
Another amazing presentation! Thanks!
I'm loving these new videos!! Keep them coming!

I love these videos! They’re awesome 😎 I can’t wait to see what’s next I love this direction for the channel
Damn nice to hear the toast again.
Excellent story!
Quite a departure from this channel's usual content; good job, Rex. As for de Wiart, he was a piece of his class and times. A proper British Officer of his era did his duty, and despised emotion in their professional lives, good on him he had a human side, unlike dear old Monty.
Arthur Ashe might be a good candidate for Cheers worthy!!!
Nice video!!!
Always something new to learn. Cheers guys🥂.
This series is awesome
For his influence on storytelling and culture as well as his philosophies about life, I think Joseph Campbell is Cheers-Worthy and you should make one about him.
The story telling in the new video series is awesome!
Just ordered a bottle of the dolphin smooth. Can't wait to get it and try it
Love these videos!
Some ladies I’d like to see included: Rosalind Franklin (helped decipher the DNA double helix), Marie Curie (contributed to our understanding of radioactivity), Hedy Lamar (pioneered the technology that forms the basis of WiFi and Bluetooth)
Love these new episodes
"The pen may indeed be mightier than the sword, but the sword will sing louder at any given moment." Duke of Grand Fenwick.
Fascinating.
Another glorious person whom deserves one of these Grace O'Malley pirate queen of the Celtic sea also she was near the same age as Elizabith 1st an the two were said to be friends later in life I am to poor to donate but I would love to see a cheers episode so her amazing life is not forgotten
Great Episode....I love these.

Son of Belgium and Ireland with war in his blood....and no small amount of lead. One hell of a story to top it all off.
Will-its are fun, but these types of videos I *learn* which is great. One of the reasons I watch Fat Electrician, to learn while having fun.
If you haven't, you should go and listen to Sabaton and their song The Unkillable Soldier. It's a masterpiece!
Desmond Doss (yeah, I've been watching clips from Hacksaw Ridge). What he did during WWII was nothing short of heroic, earning him an Medal of Honor. Based on his religious convictions, I imagine he was a teetotaler, but he deserves the recognition.
You could do Earnest Shackleton and Shackleton whiskey
I'd love to see a cheers to Terry Fox, but it might be a better september video
John's Lane is my favorite Single Pot Still Irish.
Please tell me that everyone is sharing this video. This needs more traction!
OMG, Princess Bri with her hair up is so cute!

Not to intentionally keep the military theme, but Major Richard Winters is one of my historical role models. A man who stuck to his morals and was one of the best examples of what a leader should be.
You should also check out Leo Major

Check out the song about this guy The Unkillable Soldier by Sabaton.
You should do one of these for Stagecoach Mary.
She was a freed slave that had a standing bet for anyone that could withstand a punch from her. She was the only woman who was allowed to drink by law in her county!
Have you been listening to SABATOn by anny chanse? 😉
“Frankly I enjoyed the war” Lt. General Sir Adrian Corton de Wiard VC
I’d like to suggest Saigo Takamori for a cheers-worthy badass. A man of character and devotion, he helped create modern Japan, led the last major rebellion against said government (its complicated) and is sometimes referred to as “the last true samurai.”
Another good one could be Sir William Marshall. The greatest knight who ever lived.
Do an episode on Leo Major who liberated Zwolle in The Netherlands from German occupation by himself.
LOVE this series ✋️🙂↕️
I hope you'll do a cheers worthy video about Robin Williams!!!!!
Heritage Distilling Co. Makes the Special Operations Salute Whiskey ARMY SOF EDITION. My question to you sir is who would you use this Whiskey to say Cheers too?
Mix it up, a little art, specifically music, Don Van Vliet aka Captain Beefheart Me encanta su trabajo felicidades!
Might I suggest Brigadier General and Triple Ace from WW2 and Vietnam, Robin Olds.
Jack Churchill NEEDS his own episode, dude was a badass
Did you guys raid the Sabaton music catalog by chance?
Please do an episode with Dan Cummins from the Timesuck podcast -- a visit or video call. He could DEFINITELY tell you all about some Magnificent Bastards.
"Without being censored by your government!" - Briana. W!
Have look at Alvin York.
Epic!
he truly started his adventures as a boy, with a boys narrow skewed views. his experiences helped him grow, to become a man.
as it should be.
Running my famous blue corn and fig this morning.
Do one on Canadian and Quebecer Léo Major from the Canadian Forces. Find a Quebec whiskey.
you should cheers bob ross
🍻 Cheers 🍻
I think you should do an episode on Townes Van Zandt
The first time I heard about this guy I was like what the holy fuck
He looks like Bob Odenkirk.
I’ve had three heroes in my life. My father, John Wayne, and Chesty puller. How about one for chesty?
How about doing a video on Mad Jack Churchill?
This dude sounds more like a masochist than anything. I live near Fort Knox in Kentucky. He sounds kinda like how everyone around Ft Knox praises General Patton.
Davey Crockett
Arthur Guinness! You should read The Search for God and Guinness, great read.
Its like you guys started doing a mini count dankula mad lads with whiskey. Mad lads and whiskey would be an epic team up. Hell he is Scottish so all more reason.

Masataka Taketsuro would be a good "Cheers-Worthy" episode.
What about the life's story of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec ?
I will ask again for Robin Williams, please and thank you
Bro was knocking at deaths door but everytime death opened the door and asked him if he wanted to come in
BRO SAID NO!
Then kept knocking!
At least he could say he had lead in his pencil at the end of his life.
