This video was part of the Moonwalker movie which had a theatrical release in 1988 or 89. The characters the rabbit/MJ turn into are Pee Wee Herman, Sly Stallone and Tina Turner.
“Speed Demon” ~ Is a rather ambition track, reminding listeners what set Michael Jackson apart from his contemporaries: his sheer eccentricity. The driving drums and funky rhythm section featured on the track served as the embodiment of the leather-clad, tough persona that Jackson had adopted during this era. The instrumentation takes a page from the tone of the lyrics, capturing the exhilaration of racing down the freeway. 🙌🏽👑🖤🔥🌟(This song is a true masterpiece to me it’s funky but super versatile and you can clearly hear the James Brown influences throughout the entirety of this record shows how MJ was never one to gatekeep his influences from his idols etc. but put his own sauce on it and originality. Also MJ during the dancebreak with “Spike” the Bunny is such a feel good moment and MJ’s smile there at the end so precious Thee Greatest Smile Ever Literally. And the animation style of this Short Film/Music Video is Claymation it was so innovative no music artist was doing what MJ was doing.)
This was from a short film. Basically all of those characters were crazy fans or people that wanted to get to him. They was chasing him until Mj ran inside a room and that’s where he found the rabbit? Or whatever it is head. He put it on and was able to get away until they realized it was him. And then that’s where this music video picks up at. Very creative lol
The Wild One movie with Marlon Brando was the inspiration for MJ doing this song and short film. I love it because I watched the movie Moonwalker in a theater thought it was great and the coolest thing I ever watched. When I first heard the song I didn’t really like it. This short film changed my opinion about the song and after getting the CD of BAD with the song lyrics I appreciated it more.
This was a short film. You're missing the first part of it, where people are chasing him and he dresses in the rabbit disguise to avoid and get away from the fans. Still pretty weird though (and wonderful)!
I love this song. I don't know ow how to explain it, but when the song lowers it pitch/melody towards the middle of the song where Jackson is saying "speed demon", it makes me feel like I'm driving adventurously at night in an unknown valley in an action movie with the wind blowing 😂😂😂😂 But I love the ending of the song as it fades off into "Librarian Girl". That mini shift from song to song was an outstanding form of intelligence and was the start to a musical era where artist then even till now have copied that movie. Quincy Jones was a musical genuis for starting that trend
Speed Demon, Smooth Criminal, Come Together and other short movies compromise Moonwalker the mini movie that Michael Jackson created. It also had a storyline that integrated these videos. There was also a Moonealker arcade game ( that I used to love playing ) and also console games across all gaming platforms at the time.

Yes it’s from the movie, “Moonwalker”. I remember first watching it as a kid in the late 80’s.
I Love This Song On The Wii Michael Jackson Experience Game 😂🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can’t explain how much I loved this as a kid
Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, and Phil Collins had the 80s locked with unique videos
I remember "Speed Demon". I think I remember this animated video playing on television. Sheesh, it's been so long ago
This is part of the Moonwalker film. Probably won't make sense if you don't watch the entire movie
It was apart of the Moonwalker movie
Oh okay I've never seen it.
I like this song as well as Leave Me Alone. I think the video is funny. I am surprised he didn’t make more animated videos.

You gotta watch MJ's short film "MoonWalker" to fully get the context of this music video
This short film used claymation similar to the original Gumby series.

Not a music video. This was apart from the film "Moonwalker" (1988). You missed an entire part from this scene.

I think he was trying to appeal to the kids
How have you not heard this?
I never listened to it.
Someone was on drugs 😂
lol!
(????) This was Michael Jackson? No. Wonder his videos were so good....because the songs got LAME! (IMO)
This was part of the Moonwalker movie. Written for the movie. Not lame at all.
@@ingrid8994 Obviously I disagree, based on MJ songs I actually like! He changed his style into something I hate!
Someone said MJ was trying to be a male Marilyn Monroe.
What does that even mean?
