    Another youtuber compared shades from the new and the old, and even the same shade was quite different. For instance the old C2 was very yellow, and the new C2 is more of a neutral yellow; more of a wearable shade.
    So I’m wondering if they revamped all of the shades, not just added new ones?

      Hi Jenny. That's a good point. I'm going to look a little deeper into this. I suspect that may well be the case. The N5 that I have and the new one in store did seem a little different.

    Such a helpful video, TY! MAC website suggested N0 for me and I just felt this would be too light. Your use of N4 helped me make up my mind on shade choice. Gorgeous look, great info. Many thanks!

    This used to be my fave foundation. I also apply it with hands and it used to thicken in your fingers and provide pretty medium coverage. I used the new c0 color yesterday and applied it the same way, but I don’t think it looked as good. I’m going to try it again with a brush and see if that works better. It looks beautiful on you, though!

    • @Fifty-sense
      @Fifty-sense  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately they have tinkered with the formula. It doesn't thicken between the fingers and you're right, the coverage is sheerer 😢

      What did u use for discoloration?

    • @TracyD2
      @TracyD2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rorblmbo because I have melasma and had a lot of sun damage. I started with a vitamin C 20% in the am and I will use hydroquinone until the discoloration lightened then I will use an arbutin 5% + glycolic acid 10% + kojic acid 2% cream like once or twice a week. I also use .02 or .05 trentinion every couple of days. I guess what I’m trying to say is I tackled my hyperpigmentation aggressively then I scaled everything back and use maintain doses. I’m currently trying out Tranexamic acid at the moment for hyperpigmentation. It’s more gentle and then I’ll use Asian beauty moisturizing and calming products to round out everything because I don’t want to look like I’m under construction all the time. Hydroquinone is the most effective for HP but it’s not good to use regularly long term.

    Just bought this, not sure of color gal gave me. Good review. Gal said she does not think Mac is making the original formula any longer. So... will report back. I wanted something more shear for summer, so

    • @Fifty-sense
      @Fifty-sense  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will love it if you're in to sheer and dewy. I'm not sold on it now that the formula has changed as I have combo skin and need a 10 hour wear from my foundation! It's sheer enough that you can mix it with other foundations but I realize that's not the point. You want the right match for your skin off the bat right?

  • @kellicopley9520
    @kellicopley9520 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The higher up the ingredient the more of that ingredient. At least when I do my soap labels that’s how I was told to list the ingredients. Love this foundation ! just tried it for the first time today. My husband said it looks fluffy and whipped , but like I wasn’t wearing anything. Lol! Whatever that means. I can’t explain it quite right either. It’s just wonderful. I am not glowing and he said it wasn’t glowing either, like I saw in some other TH-cam reviews. Maybe it’s the lighting 🤷‍♀️ Go online with Mac. They will ask you to send a face/ neck pic along with whether your veins on your arms are green or blue. I am an N2. Picked this up at my local ultra. I think this is my new foundation. I’m 41

    Thank you for this review!! I too was wondering if it was, in fact, new or just re-launched. I’m 47 and in the last year I’ve noticed how all my favorite foundations have started looking so caky!! It’s almost like it happened overnight! So crazy! The only thing I’ve done different in this time period was to start using a vitamin C serum and also Retin-A. Perhaps those are the culprits? Anyway, was struggling to find a “skin like” foundation with just enough coverage to even out my skin tone. This one is a gem!! Although, I struggle to decipher their undertone labeling! For example, “N” does not stand for neutral, “C” does not stand for cool.......found this out the hard way! Any suggestions for helping to understand the MAC shade ranges? Love your channel!! 🇱🇷🇿🇦🙏🏻👍🏻

    • @Fifty-sense
      @Fifty-sense  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Heather. I think the Retin A can definitely make your skin drier. I also think that this foundation will be a good bet for you as it is so skin-like and works well if your skin is not oily. We don't want caky at our age!! :) I wish I could help you decode the Mac undertone labelling. It never ceases to flummox me. It is indeed a mystery. I wish they would explain it to us!! Thank you for watching! xx

  • @LeadingTheCheer
    @LeadingTheCheer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Thanks for the thorough analysis. The new shade seams to match you perfectly! 👍🏽
    But I must say I don't consider it the same formula if the ingredients are switched around (even if they are the same). Just like a basic cooking recipe of eggs, milk, flour etc. You can achieve very different dishes with different ratios, separating the eggs or not and not to mention the cooking method.
    Do you think the new version is more radiant?

    • @Fifty-sense
      @Fifty-sense  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You make a good point and therein lies my confusion with the way this has been marketed. The original was always quite radiant on me, I didn't see a huge difference in radiance with the new one. However, I did notice that the new version didn't turn tacky between my fingers. For me, that was always the secret to the application - it's film-forming abilities. So yes, on further inspection (as Inspector Clouseau would say :) ) I would say that the formula has definitely been tinkered with!

      @@Fifty-sense now that I come to think about it, confused customers might have been the goal with all of this! 😄 customers who were not interested in the F&B have a "new" foundation to try and fans of the old formulation are being assured its the same. Its probably something in between :)

  • @Nico-c3c
    @Nico-c3c 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The new formula is much "glowier" to the pt that many will need to powder it if they do not want to look shiny/greasy. This sucks because it no longer looks natural and adding powder makes it much less skin like.

    What skin care do you recommend under Radiance Face and Body? My new Face and Body cracked all over my face. Do I need more moisture or less?

    • @Fifty-sense
      @Fifty-sense  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rebecca. It could be that you need slightly less moisture for the foundation to adhere to the skin. Sorry to hear it cracked. I've got an updated video where I explain that the order of the ingredients has changed so the forumula has infact changed. It used to form more of a film on the skin, but not so much now that the formula has been tweaked.

    Yes many companies use sneaky tactics to boost the product that was once out theme reformulated or something different it might even just be the changing of the bottle🤐 but maybe the real tactic was just adding additional colors to the form to the format but dies there's a lot of dishonesty in marketing you knows all about the sales you know they have been doing good for years and then all these other companies came out with adding or adding more color range to to their product and Mac was pushed a little bit out of the the front cuz he was the front especially for people of color cuz that was one of our favorite products that we knew we can get something similar in our skin tone in which in drugstores Forsyth no do so yes just added more shades to their foundation and I guess they consider that not sneaky but just beat they can just be honest and just say we had more skin colors would have been a lot better😏

    • @Fifty-sense
      @Fifty-sense  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you 100 percent! They can make a big fuss about the extended color range. They could've said "same great formula, now in 20 more shades". It would've made more sense to the consumer instead of leaving us all confused! 🤗

      @@i_bleed_makeup Thank you for your comments. We can no longer get the original Face & Body here in South Africa. It has been replaced with the Radiance version and yes, I agree with you, it is a new formula. My confusion came in because my tried and trusty MAC consultant assured me that the formula had not changed, despite what I saw on the international website which said "new". Having used it a few times now, I can see that there are definite changes, starting with the way that it feels when I apply it with my fingers. It no longer gets tacky, which was the magic with the original formula. And yes, it is definitely sheerer and more radiant. Personally, I am disappointed that it's changed, and not for the better in my view!
