"We're not going to sleep tonight" "Hurry up and turn out the lights" Usually there's only one thing you do with the lights off but not going to sleep XD. Just one example. As far as the "Never give up without a fight" Probably referencing something like a Romeo and Juliet situation where their parents don't want them to be together, or some other force maybe the guy is being drafted into the army that would explain the lack of time together. So they plan to fight for it as long as they can. Just my opinion though.
