Damn right. Alex Van Halen is one of the most under-rated drummers there has ever been. Not many People talk about him - and he never shows up high on all-time lists, and all that stuff. I think it's mostly b'c Van Halen was all about Edward - and rightfully so, of course. But Alex is not only an incredible drummer, but he's also an incredible musician. Period.
Man, they both had a ton of talent. I feel like Al's drums were were too buried in the mix on the early albums... I guess the producers had to know Eddie was a once-in-a-lifetime talent, and needed to be front and center.
Great job, super accurate to the recording, too! Impressive left foot work, keeping the continuous eighth notes in time with all the fills & syncopated bass drum work. Excellent!

Loved DLR Van Halen like nobody's business, but then got into Rush and Led Zeppelin and therefore never respected Alex as much as I should've. This song is one of the hardest technical songs I know of (as a non-drummer wishing I was a drummer) and you absolutely nailed it. Very nice and glad that Alex is getting the respect he deserves which I never gave him. All of that said - I'm very curious - is this an easy drum cover or am I correct in thinking this is one of the hardest covers to play including anything from Neil Peart or John Bohnam? It's OK if I'm wrong, it just completely impresses me lately every time I see anyone cover it as well as you did. Excellent and thanks.

im just curious on how you merged the midis on the 2 drum modules to your interface. I have the same 2 modules from fusing 2 sets together almost exactly like yours and I'm trying to get them to both work in superior drummer which I'm relitively new too but your settings sound superb!
Hi George, I have yet to try Superior Drummer. Both of my modules are plugged into an analog mixer, which then outputs to Audacity (which is FREE software), which is my DAW. I'm very curious about SD, it seems like an awesome program. Right now my drums are mixed in my Yamaha modules (2 layers per sample)! Thank you for your nice comments BTW! :-)

im just curious on how you merged the midis on the 2 drum modules to your interface. I have the same 2 modules from fusing 2 sets together almost exactly like yours and I'm trying to get them to both work in superior drummer which I'm relitively new too but your settings sound superb!
Hi George, I have yet to try Superior Drummer. Both of my modules are plugged into an analog mixer, which then outputs to Audacity (which is FREE software), which is my DAW. I'm very curious about SD, it seems like an awesome program. Right now my drums are mixed in my Yamaha modules (2 layers per sample)! Thank you for your nice comments BTW! :-)
