It's a shame that such an excellent programme is spoiled by having been uploaded with such appalling audio levels. Otherwise a great programme.

It is VERY important to us, for it steps from cold logic to reasoning to empathy to altruism. Very well said. So many adults are stuck at cold logic and selfishness due to lack of development of these processes.

I am the facilitator with the children in this video First point : I am doing a specific method 'McCall's CoPI' with the children in this video. At the time I had a PhD in Philosophy and though it looks easy, it requires a knowledge of philosophy and logic as well as the CoPI method to get the children to this stage. I am controlling the dialogue, this is what we do in CoPI.

The philosophy for children is a great technique! Children have many positive changes in critical thinking and self-perception! :)

I feel that Philosophy is less about feeding the mind and more about building the analytical thought processes that are the minds digestive system. It is VERY important to us, for it steps from cold logic to reasoning to empathy to altruism. When we are taught to lay bricks or scan grocery we are not happy in our quagmire. When our mind flies, even if we don't fly with it, our quagmire is now at an ancient Greek health spa.

I have written 3 dozen songs for children based on texts by Aristotle, Plato, Socrates and other philosophers, poets and writers. Perhaps I could send you a demo.

In this first segment, I didn't get much of a sense of how democratic P4C actually is. Yes, I witnessed the inquiry circle but to me it looked like the teacher was controlling the conversation. How early in the process was this when the video was taken?

Very nice, but IDK about all the "because" "because" "because." There should be some room for non-cause/effect, IMO.
