Thanks for playing apex. I get 160-170ms on apex legends using MTN but from your video, it's a little bit better at around 150ms. They reason we have high latency in online games from Nigeria is because the game servers closest to us are in Europe. Apex legends usually connect to Belgium servers. You can change the server you connect to at the start up screen by pressing R3 on the controller or tab key on the keyboard. I usually connect to London server because it's more stable than Belgium server. London server gets me consistent 160-170ms latency. Belgium server gets me around 150ms but it fluctuates a lot up to 200ms. I don't know when game developers will start giving us a West African game server. I guess they don't make profit from West Africa generally. No matter how good your internet is, your latency will be high if you are gaming far away from the game server location. The only way to get below 20ms while playing online games from Nigeria is to put that game's server in Nigeria but that's almost impossible because the game developers don't care about us
Yeah, the server issue is really a downer, no matter how fast the Internet may be, that's always the bigglest hurdle to cross...but we keep moving. I believe that as the number online gamers increase in a couple of years, along with Internet access across Nigeria, the Gaming Companies would surely respond, same way Streamers such as Netflix and Amazon did

Using mine in the rural forest of Niger state near benin republic. I get 250mbps. We are the only ones with internet in the entire region which is bigger than Ibadan. Some few people get luck of getting glo but need to work hard to get it. If not, no internet in this entire area. Thanks Starlink.
This is really awesome. If not for the pricing due to the bad exchange rate in Nigeria , it would have been a good buy. Also, it seems it requires steady power supply which isn't existent in most places over here😪.
I was thinking of buying star-link and i opted to look at reviews before buying and the reviews been somewhat disappointing, mainly I need it for my games I play on my phone like call of duty mobile and warzone mobile, I was hoping I could get low latency of about 20ms or 30ms at most but from the reviews I been watching it’s not promising, anyways good video your accent is just superb ❤️❤️❤️

@toolSplit Reviews They now accept NGN cards. Also, you should understand some persons live in other cities where there are no broadbands. Infact, i think we only have broadband in 2-3 of the entire 36 states.

@leonidas2717 On the Starlink Website, there are 2 plans available for Nigeria/Africa. 1) first is the Residential plan with unlimited high speed data @ around ₦40k per month. 2) The second is the Mobile/Roam plan, giving anyone the ability to move around with & use your starlink in remote areas (eg Filmmakers) & also Pause your plan @ around ₦50k per month) within Nigeria). Both plans use same starlink hardware consisting of the Starlink Kit & Mesh Router. It costs around ₦400k. The kit is readily available for sale in Lagos at Ikeja Computer Village. Do bear in mind that if your Nigeria debit card isn't accepted, you'd have to use a service like Chipper Virtual Dollar Card to pay for subscription, and will be charged in Dollars ($120/Month for the Residential Plan)
I get around 160ms on Fortnite, overwatch 2 and apex legends using mtn. From this video, he was getting around 150ms in apex legends using starlink. That means you will likely get 150ms in overwatch 2 and Fortnite while using starlink
@@arico7923 It also depends on what server he's playing on, it kinda looks like he's playing on Us servers. If he is and he's getting 160ms, then playing EU should be better. But if it's EU he's playing on, then yeah not much different from Mtn.
@@susanoshiroconnecting to USA server from Nigeria gets you around 216ms. Playing online games from Nigeria automatically connects you to EU server unless you manually change it to US server. He is obviously connected to EU server. EU server is the closest to Nigeria. I play apex legends. You automatically get connected to Belgium or London server. Sometimes Frankfurt server. They are all EU servers and get similar 160ms
Fair enough, I was hoping it was US and he was getting that ms from Nigeria. But if that's not the case then it's not much different from Mtn latency wise, but starlink should still give better consistency results (hopefully). I can't count how many times I'd be popping off in OW2 or Apex and MTN will just choose to spike ms for whatever reason.

The first issue with their pricing is the fact that we in Nigerian can't use Nigerian Debit or Credit cards to purchase & pay for the monthly subscription. The only option left is to use virtual cards that convert Naira to Dollar at Black Market rates
It's a hit or miss depending on when and where you're using it. My friend who lives in an area with a clear skyline swears it's perfect. Fibre one works very well for Fifa in my experience though.

Sometimes our Starlink fluctuates between 100ms & 140ms, but the speed remains constant and usually never dips below 100mbps. Anyhoo, you don't need to worry about my speed because my Bangalore is awesome, and I can do all the heavy lifting when you're on my squad 🤪

I am a casual player though so you will have to carry me too. My highest number of kills is 6 and my best score after a match was around 1700. I play on PC but I think apex legends is cross play so I can team up with someone playing on console. I play using mtn and it sucks. Waiting for my starlink though

I did! In 3 different countries...got the fastest download in the US up to 105mbps. Struggled to get 12mbps in Lagos Nigeria (ps5)
How is it with the rain? What type of download speeds do you get when it's raining? Does the rain shutdown the service totally?
Light rains, no issue but heavy rain turns it to turtle speed sometimes no speed at all.

As for the USD VS NGN prices, Starlink is priced differently for different regions, so most times, it's not a direct USD conversion
