Hi Guido, now 10 days arround Broome, did allready 3 fishing trips and the raw nature here is marvelous! Salmon, Mangrove Jack and even caught my first Barramundi! Wishing you lots of fun and crazy videos!
I bought the spooler and bees knees kit a couple of years ago. Frank makes seriously good quality gear and it’s changed the game for spooling. Especially good for the drone reels. Every meter makes a difference. I got 650 meters of 65 lb on a 9500 slammer. Who would have ever dreamed you could get that much line on spin 👍
Ive built myself a line winder for my reels but did not know that one can spool grinders like you did.Never too old to learn. Thanks for sharing.Stay safe.
Toys for boys ! we used to do all that stuff on the boat, using the water to help us. Of course if you only shore fish, you have to do it, but I’ve never needed any tools for it.
Good tools! I've been using my DIY ones, just use a bolt, washers, nuts and old spools to do all the line removal and put it back on. To tension on I use and old drill bolted down that has sufficient resistance to prevent the line from digging in as you wind in the line. Having the spool holder to use an electric drill is nice! Not as tiring or time consuming as cranking it in! Though cranking it in with a rod is good as you can judge the amount of tension based on the bend in rod (taking into account the rod rating too). Known about the line digging in since using braid in the mid 1990s and the importance of tension during spooling up!
Awesome gear. I need to get me some of this stuff, I haven't stripped and respooled in quite a while, this will make it a breeze. Cheers mate and as always, tight lines and stay safe out there.
Interesting seeing you use nail clippers to cut the line. We used these when we went surf fishing at 90 mile beach in Gippsland nearly 50 years ago. I was mainly a surf fisher or trout in the mountain streams around Heyfield and Mt Useful.
Nice equipment.... I use a piece of pool noodle, press the back of a Philips screwdriver in the center hole, the other side in the battery drill and change line that way. But I have to say this looks easier!
Hello. Watching your videos I noticed that when you snag a lure you pull on the line until it breaks. Please consider pinching the line, holding it with both hands, forming a 90 degree angle. The sudden release in tension will throw the lure/jig head in the opposite direction. This method saved me a lot of lures, it has a high success rate. All the best. Tight lines!
Just had the same idea which actually seems super obvious but it just came to me, how to figure out how much mono backing to use to get a full 300 meter spool of braid on a reel that holds 400+ meters. So I put the braid on first and then filled the remaining balance with mono. Run it off on to an empty line spool and put it back on again. No more bits unusable braid or unfortunate connections within the first 100 meters.
Beats unwinding walking up and down the street to reverse my mono then rewinding it back on , I use double uni for extra line used to use braid to much back twist gave most of it to friend ha ha
What poles/reels should a beginner buy for ocean fishing? IE. You keep mentioning you have a PE8 rod custom rod and probably way out of my price range. (Especially shipped from Australia to the USA, heh) Thanks
I have al ways wondered, what do u put in the water, sometimes when u fishing, its a bag with something in it? If u can answer its appreciated Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱🎣 I always see your videos
Looks great for stripping and reversing the line, but I think I would prefer to wind it on using the oscillation pattern that the reel lays down as each cast is a different distance and I would hate to get that same line jamn up you get from the spool not being tight enough
Once you do a big cast it all lays on the reel how you want it. Thousands of reels have been spooled in similar fashion at a shop so I’d be surprised if I find any issues
I prefer winding it on manually as well but it's a lot of work. I'm sure someone could come up with a way to take off the screw in handle and attach a drill adaptor and wind it on that way but I'd be looking for a portable slow speed high torque drill
It's a load of messing about whatever whatever way you do it I use a spare reel wind the used braid end on then go out side tie it at the fresh end to a cane walk 200 meter keeping it tight then tie of the fluffy end to your backing and walk the 200 m back winding at the same time your good to go probably around 30 mins but it is what it is 😂😂
Hi Gido, that's top stuff, give me ur address and I'll send u all my reels with line of course and u can do mine , because ur such a true blue Aussie 🇦🇺🎣🌈

It’s top quality gear. A lot of people say I just do this or that to wind my line on. Sure it’s easier but nowhere near as good

Great video brings new life to old line, be awesome if you could show us some knots you use.

Thank you Gido!

i prefer to let the reels oscillation do the line laying. sometimes you might need to shim the spool after some big fish.
I've caught big spangled empire's and mad looking Rainbow parrot fish off the rock's at quobba station camping grounds,if you're going that way
👍👍.
Don’t know if you’ve answered this in a previous video but why do you only use spinning reels?

Gido uses a plastic mesh bag with pilchards as Berley/chum to attract or keep fish around.

You only buy the gear frank sells once. That's it. It's that good.
