For all the people that doesn't know or understand the political issues that happening between Korea and China, here's a brief explination: So basically, Korea is wanting to build a THAAD system (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense). The Korean government then requested to use Lotte Worlds (Lotte Duty Free etc.) to build this system, and since this IS the Korean government we are talking about, Lotte can't exactly say no. Now the whole issue with China is that there are many Lotte stores inside of China so if Lotte is used by Korea, then it would greatly effect/threaten China so that is why these two countries aren't exactly in the best relationships.

I'm crying I'm so early never clicked on a notification so fast. it's 5 years with exo already. I'm feeling so emotional rn. Stanning this group was the best decision of my life. Exo might just be a kpop group to you but to me they are the reason I smile when I'm the most depressed. They're just so familiar to me yet they don't know I exist. You know why the world didn't end in 2012 that's because a kpop group named Exo debut in 2012. To me Exo is something so precious that I can't put it into words. They are so perfect. They are so talented and amazing. What did I ever do to deserve stanning this group? Every single member is so unique and amazing in their own way. Hope we can celebrate every year like this for the next 10 years or so.
All I really got from this is they are still as lovely as ever, and I need to learn Korean. Besides that, I love them all so much and will continue to support all the members. Guys! I know everyone is frustrated because lay is not in this video, but please just let me explain what I understand about this situation. China and Korea is having some problems right now. I don't know what exactly happened but Chinese government actually cancel the visa for their citizens to go to Korea, so even if they're not against Korea or if they want to go there just to travel, it's not possible. That's why lay is keeping it low now and to be honest. SM is just an entertainment company and they cannot do anything about this situation. They might get banned (maybe) if they ask lay to do video etc to celebrate 5th anniversary of exo, as exo is a group started in Korea, that's somehow promoting kpop. And chinese government will not allow that. Even if they won't get banned, imagine how much hate lay and exo will get from those who are not fans. We all don't want that to happen. So all we have to do is wait till the situation cool down and then we can see all 9 of them again, together ❤️ let's believe that even they are not celebrating together, their heart is still together, as exo that we all love. The reason is that South Korea deployed THAAD because of recent threats made by North Korea and China thinks that this is USA's way to aim PRC as well as NK, so they are not pleased and China - South Korea relations are strained.

Y'all need to understand something. Lay was in China when they recorded this in Singapore and you know the THAAD issue isn't helping much. He's in quite a difficult position right now, that's why he isn't with Exo right now (I meant as in performing with them). Let's all hope that we will be able to see OT9 more this year. For all the people that doesn't know or understand the political issues that happening between Korea and China, here's a brief explination:
So basically, Korea is wanting to build a THAAD system (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense). The Korean government then requested to use Lotte Worlds (Lotte Duty Free etc.) to build this system, and since this IS the Korean government we are talking about, Lotte can't exactly say no. Now the whole issue with China is that there are many Lotte stores inside of China so if Lotte is used by Korea, then it would greatly effect/threaten China so that is why these two countries aren't exactly in the best relationships.

Guys! I know everyone is frustrated because lay is not in this video, but please just let me explain what I understand about this situation.
China and Korea is having some problems right now. I don't know what exactly happened but Chinese government actually cancel the visa for their citizens to go to Korea, so even if they're not against Korea or if they want to go there just to travel, it's not possible. That's why lay is keeping it low now and to be honest. SM is just an entertainment company and they cannot do anything about this situation.
They might get banned (maybe) if they ask lay to do video etc to celebrate 5th anniversary of exo, as exo is a group started in Korea, that's somehow promoting kpop. And chinese government will not allow that. Even if they won't get banned, imagine how much hate lay and exo will get from those who are not fans. We all don't want that to happen. So all we have to do is wait till the situation cool down and then we can see all 9 of them again, together ❤️ let's believe that even they are not celebrating together, their heart is still together, as exo that we all love. Y'all need to understand something. Lay was in China when they recorded this in Singapore and you know the THAAD issue isn't helping much. He's in quite a difficult position right now, that's why he isn't with Exo right now (I meant as in performing with them). Let's all hope that we will be able to see OT9 more this year. So for now, let's appreciate the fact that these boys spend 8 minutes giving us this special message.

Happy 5th anniversary EXO! congrats! They had been through rain and storm together so they deserve the best! I am quite surprised most of the comments are about LAY which made me so happy that everyone haven't forgotten about this precious unicorn! Fans must be devastated not being able to see all OT9 together to celebrate their anniversary but before you jump to any conclusions please understand that a mere idol can't do anything against a country's political issues. Therefore, before you go hating on LAY just remember that this situation is too big for him to control alone. True exols won't need Lay's reassurance to prove to them that Lay's heart are one with exo. Lay is honestly one of the most loyal, humble, honest, down to earth, sincere, genuine person I've ever seen in kpop industry regardless if he's your bias or not. People say they believe him 100% but I reassured you he'll be the last person on Earth to betray exo. And must I say, I am not easy to trust and put so much faith on anyone ever in my life let alone some idols I've never even met in real life! On such a memorable day, let's just appreciate for all that exo has done for us and not make a big fuss about LAYs absence.
