"Just go" is one of the best advice one can get. Don't overanalyze too much. Go and make the best of it. Grab that coffee and camera bag and just go. 90% miss with the photos is most likely what will happen, but being out in nature and just listening to the birds when the sun comes up is 100% win every time.
I just love dippers and miss them so much. I moved to Michigan last fall after 50 years in the Rockies.. Instinctivley, I still look for them in every river...
It is about the experience of being there and enjoying the natural world. You don't always have to take a photograph sometimes just stop, look and listen and relax. It is amazing what your senses will reveal to you. Thanks for the video.

I love watching you guys and seeing the differences between American birds and UK birds. Also the ones that are "Common" to you are ones I'd love to photograph! possibly the same vice versa!
Hey Josh, love your videos. Been a fan for a bit. I want to share a tip I got from a fellow wildlife photographer, and it comes from something I saw in this video shooting from the driver’s seat (or passenger). Get yourself a piece of foam pipe insulation 18-24” and split it down the middle. Then, when you’re shooting from the car, use it on the edge of your window glass as a pad to soften the contact between the camera/lens and the car window. I thought that was a very clever idea. Then you can move the window up and down to adjust your photo angle with a little more ease of knowing your gear is protected. Love your channel and great evolution of your vids over the years. Keep up the great work. I’ll definitely be watching!
It's been an enjoyable journey, Josh, following along as you developed your skills, style, and narrative. With your "Trout and Coffee" voice added, you and Katie have a great future.
Small world, that is our backyard. We love walking the park and normally walk through there once a day. Just got back from there this evening and we glassed up 40-50 elk 6 miles towards bogus using our BTX scope. Love living in a city surrounded by such beauty. Congrats on the new gear. Been watching your channel kicking around the idea of photographing what we enjoy glassing. Thanks for sharing and look forward to bumping into you down the road.
Definitely a small world. Photography can make it better or worse. I don’t openly recommend photography to everyone. As a matter fact my video tomorrow has a segment about how photography ruined birdwatching for us. It’s a beautiful hobby but man it complicates things.
Outstanding Video and Images. I always consider myself a "lucky" photographer, by just being at the right place at the right time. I am always trying to take photographs in "their" home, so I have to be ready to wait for them. You and Katie have this down to a fantastic science.
I have always loved how you are about the experience, not the gear; however, my heart gave a little leap when I saw that big G on your lens. May your new setup bring you happiness and lots of A1 (pun intended) photos!

OMG! YooBoob set the viewing resolution to 480... i had to watch it all over again in 2160. much better. Thank you for the adventure and beautiful images. Several months back, in a busy suburban neighborhood in the middle of the largest intersection (8 lane each way); all the traffic was stopped for a mother C. geese with her 7 ducklings crossing the intersection diagonally. Not one of the cars honked but with smiles and gently waiting until the whole family made it across the the large grass field from the ducky pond corner. It was so wonderful to witness it front row. The duckling images brought that memory back with smiles. Thanks again.

There are so many great photographers and great locations within two hours of our house. Instagram is packed with beautiful images from local photographers every day. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a little jealous sometimes. I wanna be there for everything. 😆
Well done, a joy to watch as always. I make a point to catch all of them. As I always say, you won’t see anything if you don’t get out there. It’s amazing what you find when you’re looking! Good to see y’all continuing the adventure!
What a trip down memory lane!! I used to live in Wyoming and saw all of these animals y'all have portrayed on a regular basis. What a wonder! What a recollection! Of course, I never had a camera back then. Funny how time changes one's perspective. To be honest, I never was that "cool" with 20 below (let alone those few times it was 40 below)! Thank you!!
Thank you and Katie for giving us a wonderful feel-good video to drink our morning coffee with. We have several bridges here in the Black Hills where we can count on seeing those cute little dancing dippers, too.
Hello Josh and Katie, thank you for this beautiful video. The content and the photos are really gorgeous and you are right: you need to know the right places to find the animals. Sometimes it comes accidentally, sometimes you get a tip. As TH-camr Dukebox is saying: Get out and take photos 😀. Will do it this weekend, of course. Have a great weekend. Best regards from Germany.
Great video and photos of the American Dipper, It great that they show such a strong fidelity to a nesting site and section of the river. Congratulations on the new tools.
Most people don’t even notice the Dippers so they love their little spot. It’s also a very quiet, low traffic spot. The trail was closed for a few years but it recently reopened. I hope the Dippers keep returning but it all depends on what humans do to that area. I have high hopes it stays peaceful
It is amazing, the territory and time fidelity of many birds. Here in outskirts of Denver my breading broad-tailed hummingbird show up about April 15 every year. I put my feeders out just the week before. This year there are at least two females. Hopefully they will nest within view of my deck. Looking forward to seeing more Dipper videos and photos from you both..
I knew that you would join me on the dark side (Sony) one day. I am not knocking Nikon as I started with them in 66 and still own a D500 but when I am doing serious wildlife photography I have my A7rIV or A9 in hand. Thanks, great video as always.
Inspirational video as always! It is true you have to be in the right place. I find when you go somewhere you never know for sure what will be there. Sometime you find a lot, and then there are other times were there's nothing. You just go with the flow.
Very true! We have gone to that spot a few times and did not see much of anything except beautiful scenery. Which also makes it worth the trip. 😊❤️🌈🦋☮️🐿
Just a lovely video my friend :) Welcome to sony and hope you will be satisfied The Dipper is awesome bird .. more brown black and white on the chest here in sweden Have a nice weekend Josh and Katie photograph a lot Ronny
The other 10% is sticking around LOL, many times I have sat in the woods with empty sky and thermos pondering heading to the warmth of my F-150. I made myself a deal 1 more hour and I will head out, fate often rewarded me with that perfect shot you only get a few times a year in that last few minutes
Week 3-4 of sciatic pain. I can now get to my view of our backyard comfortably. Today I saw a rufous hummingbirds, a black headed grosbeak, a scrub jay, a red-winged blackbird and a gold crowned sparrow. No eagles or owls, but seeing the birds in our yard makes for a great morning. Maybe I’ll get my strength up and go grab the camera and get a few shots.
@@BayouJosh I still want to meet up with you sometime this year. If you decide to come to the Oregon coast, or if we get to Boise, it would be nice to go out and shoot some wildlife together!
The eagle is my favorite of all the Raptors. I started watching them when they were extremely rare to see in Kentucky even with all our open water. I was about 14 or 15 when I saw my first eagle and I was hooked. that was about 50 years back and to this day my heart rate goes up, my hands start to quiver and I get a lump in my throat when I see an eagle. Beautiful work on the video and on the images. Thank you for letting me tag along on your adventures.
I love that place so much. We had a lot of fun there. It’s a very small town, and there weren’t a ton of people there yet because the snow still blocks a lot of roads and trails. Perfect
@@buttonlover86 it is really fascinating the way you picked up photography soo quickly and now you are doing an amazing narration and adding that extra life to your creations. I open TH-cam every Friday looking forward to your stories from the other side of the globe.
Great video as always. I used to visit my cousin in the Bitterroot at least twice a year. Many routes to take but one of my favorites was Big Sky, over Galena, to Redfish and Stanley. Small cabin on east side of Stanley. Totally amazing drive in the fall. Gorgeous all the way to Salmon and over Lost Trails. On a side note. My dad gave me a lot of advice to live by, but he never snapped a pic? Mom gave me my first camera, a small plastic film camera and it is still my main love. Happy shooting.
Thought you were both trying to get a close up shot of the ground at the start! Lovely photos and story from the both of you yet again. Hope you're enjoying the new set up! can't wait for a review/opinion video on the a1 and the 600mm. Stay safe and keep up the great work.
That's funny. I get asked that all the time. I like to review the images through the viewfinder and people come up to me when I have it braced on my foot or knee and start looking right in front of me to see what I'm trying to photograph.
"Just go!" Great advice. Right now that is the biggest hurdle I am facing. You have some beautiful locations around you. I hate to distract from such wonderful scenery and footage, but the A1 is kind of the elephant in the room.
@@BayouJosh Awe c'mon, you have to give us more than that. A self proclaimed Nikon fan boy makes a rapid change of this magnitude warrants some discussion. I am not knocking it, just trying to understand your reasoning.
I’m doing my best to just live in the moment but it’s a real thing. There’s nothing worse than spending the whole day out in the woods and you feel good about what you got only to come home and realize someone else locally hit the jackpot. Wildlife photography speaking.
Stunning video as always; really shows that it doesn’t matter what brand you shoot, your footage is always stunning. I guess I must have missed a video though because I had not realized you had gone all Sony. I rented that 600 f:4 and it is such a beauty, next in line on my purchase list, I hope you enjoy it - not as light as that 500pf but in a different class optically, and certainly way lighter than your old 600 f:4. Enjoy the A1 - as I always say, it’s not that it’s better than other cameras, it just gets out of the way. I don’t stress when I shoot it because I know it won’t let me down, mistakes are all mine :-)
Great video. I really envy you your eagle opportunities - none in our part of the UK (right down on the south coast), we really have to go to Scotland for such opportunities and even there you need to be really lucky. At least I do get some great shots of garden birds right outside the back-door and there are some great waterfowl locations within 30 miles or so. Keep up the great work.
Nice to see that f4 on your camera. I'm very happy with mine on the A1 and as I've mentioned before, it gets a lot of use on our Dippers here too, our only aquatic songbird. As for location, sometimes you get luckier than the day before, keep 'em coming. Regards, Mark.
The best bird photography I ever did was from the couch in front of the TV with a bag of chips and a beer said no one ever. If you want it you have to go get it! :-)
I just love to see you to in the nature together...great Video 👍👍👍 I think about upgrading from my A7 IV to the A1. What would you say how much better the EAF for Birds is and how much better it performs for BIF and wildlife in general? I mean of course its better, but I am just wondering if the 3.5K are good invested in the upgrade to the A1 or better spending that money on a lens. At the moment I shoot wildlife with my 200-600mm G. As for the lens the 70-200mm GM V2 with the 2x converter might be interesting for versatility.
Thank You Noah, I don't see a huge improvement in AF. the biggest improvement is processing power. more Frames per second and of course the 50mp sensor. they both nail the focus though.
Josh, another great video! Somewhat sorry to see the camera change. I first started watching your videos because you were shooting Nikon mirorless. But I appreciate the need to streamline gear and be efficient. I am interested to see where this new dual approach takes your videos. Keep it up!
Thank you my friend. I understand gear loyalty is a big thing for some people. I just needed to downsize the kit and stick with one brand. Sony just offered more up and down the lineup.
@@BayouJoshI think when I first got my Z6 brand mattered to me more than the content. Maybe I was just trying to justify my own choices and reaffirm I made a good decision? A few years later I think it matters much less to me. Not that I would want to switch systems. That just seems like a lot of work. Heavy as my new Z9 is, there is something about it that just feels right to me. Enjoy the journey Josh and keep making great content.
Beautiful video Josh. I am reminded of sir. David Attenborough's voice when I listen to yours! BTW, did you get a new 400 F2.8 or 600 F4 Gmaster for the A1V?
Josh & Katie - So glad I came across your video. Great content, so beautiful and love the story telling. Subscribing now! Josh - I would appreciate the name of the tripod, head & gimbal setup you use when mounting a large lens, like shown in this video. Thanks!
Oh man, totally relate to FOMO, Josh! It's crazy because I've been finding lifers this year in several locations, but I still feel like I'm missing out when I see an acquaintance with a perfectly sharp warbler at eye level only 20 minutes from my house. And it doesn't help that I can only get out about 2 times a week (plus a couple of lunch hours).
Great film Josh, I like the 'just go' mantra!! I've got some of my best images when I've just gone👀🙂I can see you with the Sony, have you ditched the Z9?Keep up the great work mate 👍
Have yet to take a good picture from my couch. It really is just a matter of getting up and going. Yes, swapped out the Nikon gear for Sony. Needed to streamline the kit. It was getting a little out of control.
fantastic as always brother.. would really like to see your editing techniques on some of these from start to finish. from raw file to end.. sometimes i struggle with knowing how much to crop if the bird is at a distance. and, what are you doing using sony gear????? lol.. keep up the great work
Great video Katie and Josh; always enjoy your natural videos. Hey Josh, now that you switch to Sony, which lens did you purchase as general walkaround lens. Do you recommend Katie Sony 7IV for wildlife photography (as a budget friendly combo)?
that 600 is light enough to walk around with. I've definitely walked around with heavier stuff. The A7iv with the 100-400 Or the less expensive 200-600 is a fantastic combo. I'd recommend it to anyone.
@@cesarm8811 We have the 24-70 2.8, 600f/4, and the 100-400. there is a 200-600 on the way. we are just renting that though. Not sure Katie wants to carry 5lbs around.
Persistence has a quality all its own. I really enjoyed the video but was distracted by the change of gear. Just experimenting with rental gear or shooting multiple systems now?
As always, enjoyed the video. I love seeing you and Katy out enjoying nature together. As a sony shooter for over 15 years, yes from the beginning, I had a strong suspicion that when you and Katy got her the a7iv, you would see and understand what all the fuss was about. Welcome to Sony. I love my a1 and the other 3 sony cameras I shoot with.
Hello Mr. Josh. Why you dont have deadcat for NGT mic? WS11? This one is better? Next month i want buy it for myself. You are the second man Who use this type of deadcat and not the original one. Sorry for my english. Nice video ❤️
The eaglets are growing fast. I try to save the nest locations on my gps and then I like to use a range finder to figure out distances from the view point to the nests. Eagles are making a comeback here in PA, so sightings can be more rare but are becoming more common. I haven't seen any fawns yet. Oddly, the doe still seem to be moving around in herds instead of going off on their own. We have a wood duck nest in a tree across the creek from our home. So I have a blind setup by our pond to photograph the ducks. Spring is a high point here and then it's all down hill. Or would it be up hill because it's tougher to find things to photograph?
Michael Jordan said he missed 100% of the shots that he never took. I think this works also in photography you will never get a great photo leaving your camera in the bag or at home. Another great video my wife and I are heading to glacier national Park the end of the month so will be in your stomping grounds.
That happens to me a lot. I took our little dog on a walk and saw a Great Blue Heron that let me get closer than I’ve ever gotten to one in my life. He was hopping along some rocks. It was so cute. He didn’t seem to mind my presence at all. I should go back with my camera and see if he comes back there. I also saw goslings! They are so adorable.
Josh...Whats the model# and name on your heavy tripod. Any comments about it? I love my tripod but getting the 800mm Nikon and mine will be a little to wobbly with the extra weight. I noticed you changed tripods during this video. Your smaller one looked like the size of my current tripod. Even my Tamron G2 150-600mm gives it a little wobble on my current tripod. Love your style. Your wife has stepped up your game also. Competition is good! Haha!
The smaller tripod is for the video gear. The larger one is a benro Mach 3 Aluminum. It’s a little heavy but sturdy. I think I have a link to it in the description.
its a clean & healthy obsession I have yet to get any baby geese I got some shots last month of seagulls attacking an eagle, sadly they were a quarter to half mile away
@@BayouJosh Haha! Congrats, I shoot it too... killer rig. If you don't already have them, it takes the 1.4x and even the 2x amazingly well. Love the videos, keep up the great work!
I must say that some of my best shots have come when I was just passing by a location and happened to see a bird close by in a perfect spot. Other times, when I plan an outing, and spend a lot of time waiting I an not rewarded. As the caption says, Right place at the Right time!
Wait?! What?!... I didn't know you had a Sony setup also? 600mm F4? Did I miss a video? Which one? Just surprised given the Nikon Z9 and how perfect that seems for you and most people that shoot Nikon? Just conscious that it's a lot of $ to shell out if you bought it.
@@BayouJosh Sounds good! The differences these days are pretty insignificant, but the convenience of having just one system is priceless. I do love my Sonys :)
Near autobiographical with those early comments. As the video was playing, my wife commented, “sounds just like you”, except apparently I spend days, not hours, obsessing over all things photographic. Surely, there are worse addictions. So is that Katie’s new 600 or yours? Could be a new battleground brewing? 😆 Terrific video.
Hobbies can take over your life right? It looks like Sony won out in our home. We had to pick one brand and stick with it. Just makes more sense. so I guess the answer is...it's our 600 😄
@@BayouJosh Too true. Having literally just retired a few days ago, it will be taking over quite a bit more of my time now. May even try and turn this into a small business. So, bye-bye Nikon? Subject for another video?
It's been a couple of weeks. The z9 is great. I just had to buckle down and pick one brand. Sony Won out for me. It's a great time to be a photographer. So many wonderful pieces of equipment out there.
@@BullitTom The Sony 600f/4 is so light and balanced. It says it's 6.5 lbs but it feels lighter. I had the 200-600 in my hands this weekend and it felt heavier than the 600mm f/4

I put my feeders out just the week before. This year there are at least two females. Hopefully they will nest within view of my deck. Looking forward to seeing more Dipper videos and photos from you both..
Absolutely stunning images and footage. Another fine video, thank you so much for your time and effort
Glad you enjoyed it. My pleasure.
I enjoy the dual perspective! Looking forward to your next adventure.
Thank you so much. we are have a blast!
I knew that you would join me on the dark side (Sony) one day. I am not knocking Nikon as I started with them in 66 and still own a D500 but when I am doing serious wildlife photography I have my A7rIV or A9 in hand. Thanks, great video as always.
Thanks Mike. The A1 is awesome. However it’s the A7iv that really sold me. It’s a lot of bang for the buck.
Just a lovely video my friend :) Welcome to sony and hope you will be satisfied
The Dipper is awesome bird .. more brown black and white on the chest here in sweden
Have a nice weekend Josh and Katie photograph a lot
Ronny
Those European dippers are a little more handsome. adorable birds. thanks as always my friend.
Love you guys!
Thank you so much John. We’re having fun 🤩
The other 10% is sticking around LOL, many times I have sat in the woods with empty sky and thermos pondering heading to the warmth of my F-150. I made myself a deal 1 more hour and I will head out, fate often rewarded me with that perfect shot you only get a few times a year in that last few minutes
Yeah!!! Great point! So true.
Wow! You get a nice variety in your yard. I hope your sciatica gets better. That is such an awful kind of pain.
That is one hell of a back Yard Tiim. I hope your back gets better.
BayouJosh
I completely understand that feeling! They are magnificent birds. Thank you so much for tagging along with us. Have a great weekend Guy.
I think you had a fantastic time. American dippers and Eagles on the same day.
I love that place so much. We had a lot of fun there. It’s a very small town, and there weren’t a ton of people there yet because the snow still blocks a lot of roads and trails. Perfect
We are very fortunate to live so close to that area.
@@buttonlover86 it is really fascinating the way you picked up photography soo quickly and now you are doing an amazing narration and adding that extra life to your creations. I open TH-cam every Friday looking forward to your stories from the other side of the globe.
@@BayouJosh I love the way you have journal of bird visits written in your head. I think that's a blessing :)
@@HornbillStudios awww, thank you very kindly! You just made my day! 😊😊😊
This really is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Ganlena summit is so amazing.
@@BayouJosh Yes....I remember the goat viewing area on the Big Sky side. I need to get back out that way again!
Brilliant brilliant loved every minute and when do you get that big Sony lens sir , one awesome lens
Thank You Neil. just a new tool. 😀
Another great video. Got my first shot of an eagle recently .. really gets the blood flowing.
They’re exciting! Beautiful creatures
Can't wait to watch. :)
🙂
Thought you were both trying to get a close up shot of the ground at the start! Lovely photos and story from the both of you yet again. Hope you're enjoying the new set up! can't wait for a review/opinion video on the a1 and the 600mm. Stay safe and keep up the great work.
That's funny. I get asked that all the time. I like to review the images through the viewfinder and people come up to me when I have it braced on my foot or knee and start looking right in front of me to see what I'm trying to photograph.
@@BayouJosh Bet you've caught a few people out with that haha!
"Just go!" Great advice. Right now that is the biggest hurdle I am facing. You have some beautiful locations around you.
I hate to distract from such wonderful scenery and footage, but the A1 is kind of the elephant in the room.
We are lucky to have such beautiful locations to visit. There are a lot of great cameras to choose from.
@@BayouJosh Awe c'mon, you have to give us more than that. A self proclaimed Nikon fan boy makes a rapid change of this magnitude warrants some discussion. I am not knocking it, just trying to understand your reasoning.
I too am inflicted with FOMO...we should start a support group! I do best with my FOMO when it is paired with RPRT. Another great video - nice work!
I don’t stress when I shoot it because I know it won’t let me down, mistakes are all mine :-)
thank you frederic. No special video. Just switched. The 500pf may be lighter but the 600f/4 and A1 combo feels about the same. so balanced.
Great video as always
Appreciate that. thank you.
Your father will be proud of you ❤️ .. lovely video as always .. and the eagle 🦅 pics were just spellbound 👌👌👌God bless
You are very kind. thank you.
We are very lucky. they are abundant this year. Each place has it's own beauty.
@@BayouJosh Shock, horror, did I just note that you have now bought a Sony A1?!?!?!?. If so, what happened to the Z9??
Nice!
Thank you so much Mike.
Nice to see that f4 on your camera. I'm very happy with mine on the A1 and as I've mentioned before, it gets a lot of use on our Dippers here too, our only aquatic songbird. As for location, sometimes you get luckier than the day before, keep 'em coming. Regards, Mark.
Thanks Mark. that 600 is fantastic. feels lighter than it is due to the balance. I wish I'd gotten it sooner.
The best bird photography I ever did was from the couch in front of the TV with a bag of chips and a beer said no one ever. If you want it you have to go get it! :-)
😂 Classic. I love it.
I just love to see you to in the nature together...great Video 👍👍👍
I think about upgrading from my A7 IV to the A1.
You’re very kind. Thank you. I did buy the A1 and 600f/4. No more Nikon.
@@BayouJosh awesome. A1 is a beast. More than that it’ll help you and your wife share lenses as well.
Josh & Katie - So glad I came across your video. Great content, so beautiful and love the story telling. Subscribing now! Josh - I would appreciate the name of the tripod, head & gimbal setup you use when mounting a large lens, like shown in this video. Thanks!
Hi Robert, thanks for tagging along. I left a link to that tripod in the description.
FOMO is a real thing. I can’t help myself.
It was getting a little out of control.
fantastic as always brother.. would really like to see your editing techniques on some of these from start to finish. from raw file to end.. sometimes i struggle with knowing how much to crop if the bird is at a distance. and, what are you doing using sony gear????? lol.. keep up the great work
thanks Jesse. I have a few editing videos early on. You can go back and watch a couple. they're not great but informative.
Wow, another inspirational video! I like your mental point of view. Any reason for using the A1 instead of the Z9?
Best regards from Germany! Cheers
Thank you my friend. Yes, sold the Z9 and went with Sony. So many good products out there today. Can’t go wrong with any of them.
@@BayouJosh Hey Josh, let me rephrase my question. What other lens did you and Katie buy for your Sony cameras?
@@cesarm8811 We have the 24-70 2.8, 600f/4, and the 100-400. there is a 200-600 on the way. we are just renting that though. Not sure Katie wants to carry 5lbs around.
Persistence has a quality all its own. I really enjoyed the video but was distracted by the change of gear. Just experimenting with rental gear or shooting multiple systems now?
Yes, Persistence is key. I made the switch. There are so many great options out there and this worked for us.
As always, I loved the video. Great images and great story. Are you switching to Sony or are you keeping your Z9?
thank you. We sold the z9. All Sony now.
Right place, right time. Sounds familiar! But as you can only be in one place at any particular time. Side bar, what's happened to your Z9?
That’s exactly right Tony. And yes, sold the Nikon gear and switched over to Sony. Had to narrow it down to one brand.
I love my a1 and the other 3 sony cameras I shoot with.
thank you so much Deb. I do see what all the fuss is about. Happy day!
Hello Mr. Josh. Why you dont have deadcat for NGT mic? WS11? This one is better? Next month i want buy it for myself. You are the second man Who use this type of deadcat and not the original one. Sorry for my english. Nice video ❤️
That is a MOVO dead cat for the NTG. 🙂
@@BayouJosh OH, thank you! Not for sale in my country 🥺 but thank you ❤️
The eaglets are growing fast.
Uphill, downhill, who knows. I get what you're saying though. this is a beautiful time of year.
Michael Jordan said he missed 100% of the shots that he never took. I think this works also in photography you will never get a great photo leaving your camera in the bag or at home. Another great video my wife and I are heading to glacier national Park the end of the month so will be in your stomping grounds.
Glacier is Awesome! you guys are going to love it!
What a beautiful lens, cant wait to get mine. Funny thing, i just seen some baby geese here at my work but no camera. It killed me.
Those geese are adorable right?
@@buttonlover86 i dont know a gosling. Are they like a bunch of Ryan Goslings going about?
@@BayouJosh yes and they just hatched when coming back from vacation. Later that day, gone.

I must have missed the video about the switch from the Nikon Z9 to the Sony A1.
No video Bob. Just more bird and wildlife photography. I switched. Just kind of got impatient and I was tired of waiting on things from Nikon.
Супер красиво 😊
its a clean & healthy obsession
I have yet to get any baby geese
I got some shots last month of seagulls attacking an eagle, sadly they were a quarter to half mile away
That’s one thing I always notice about Eagles. They can be in front of you one moment and a mile away the next.
You too are one of the best excellent videos. Did you totally switch over to Sony equipment.?
Thank you so much Doug. We appreciate it. Yes. we made the switch. There's a lot of great gear out there and this just worked for us.
Wow… let’s hear more of this decision path…
@@JSturrNikon, Canon, Sony…They all seem to make the same quality gear. That’s just my two cents which might not even be worth that much. LoL
Did I miss a recent gear video? That's a significant kit upgrade... LOL
😂 No, you didn’t miss anything. Just trying to get by unnoticed. Kind of difficult when you carry that big thing around.
Preparation is important. I know that I’ve been very grateful for chance opportunities. But I have to admit. It feels good to go in prepared.
@@BayouJosh yes so true.
Wait?! What?!... I didn't know you had a Sony setup also? 600mm F4? Did I miss a video? Which one? Just surprised given the Nikon Z9 and how perfect that seems for you and most people that shoot Nikon? Just conscious that it's a lot of $ to shell out if you bought it.
the z9 is a wonderful camera. I switched to Sony so I could have one system top to bottom. the A7iv's we have are so good.
Great video as always Josh. When did you change all your gear over? Last video you were still shooting with the Z9 set up
It's been a couple of weeks. The z9 is great. I just had to buckle down and pick one brand. Sony Won out for me. It's a great time to be a photographer. So many wonderful pieces of equipment out there.
@@BayouJosh aw, im still lagging behind with my nikon gear, D850 and now a D5 too. The Sony set up certainly looks good, weight and size especially
@@BullitTom The Sony 600f/4 is so light and balanced. It says it's 6.5 lbs but it feels lighter. I had the 200-600 in my hands this weekend and it felt heavier than the 600mm f/4
