These discussion videos are a lot more effective when there's math visually displayed to support their points. I push my alts to play akkan and new raids, it gets old doing clown/brel/kaya forever. Yes it's more costly but that's the price you pay.

@@dragonis9609 I'm playing with lvl 7 gems on my alts and I frequently mvp so I don't see the problem with 8's either
my mindset is, if I can at least push 3-4 characters to 1580, that means I can get a headstart on akkan gear on multiple characters so when it comes time to actually need to push them, it wont also be needing to wait 8 weeks of doing akkan to get the gear too.
Also doing Akkan on more characters will make You more experienced in this raid
Id say that when that happens the mats will be buffed and its easier to push 1580 . Id only push if you enjoy akkan or the class, but if not then id chill at 1540 until then focusing on my main preping for thaemine.
Been playing one main only since launch. It's kept the end game content fresh and fun for me. My main is 1610 and alts are 1525.
I also think a lot of why global has people with 5,6,8+ 1580/1600's is because they play with others that choose to do that ... and those other people just straight up refuse to play with people that don't buy into their insanity. So, you either buy into it so you have people to play with or you don't, and eventually end up playing a multiplayer game as a solo player, which is straight up disgustingly toxic.
Toxic cuz people dont want to look for another party for every raid or have 18 statics or expect u to not be a leech or waste their time? how does that makes sense? Its not toxic , people just want to play with similar people . Call people who play their whole roster together and actually play end game content and have fun toxic all u want we still will have our joy while u get gatekept in pugs 🤣🤣

hey man if I raid with you as a static member and we have a plan to push and one person is refusing to make that effort, then they are getting replaced. But also, if we are at say THAEMINE and one person still has level 7 gems, they will get dropped because thats obviously not cool or fun. Thats calling for the team to drag a useless dps across the fiinish line
the gems are not an issue if you play multiple of the same class, then you can just switch around.
Anyways, I get that some people ONLY think about ROI on this but what is fun about that? Got several of those people in my guild and they can do that if they like but I prefer to actually play the game and have some fun in it. More alts = playing more = I have fun. That is what I think about when I hone my alts.

Short side of the story, gems are fucking expensive. If you want more 1600+ characters push duplicate classes so gems are free or find a static who are nice enough to take your elcheapo ass.
2 reasons: akkan is fun, and kayangel wings are the only reason ill ever run the raid
it always comes back to you, whenever you think it's worth it or not. Like why you don't play una task, doing dailies and all. Cuz when you missed once it is same like losing gold anyway. So just hone your alt to whatever you want and enjoy the game. That's why i never follow this kind of 'recommendation'. because this recommendation only works if you do all things perfectly, including like doing chaos gate, doing cubes, dailies, every single day or week for every single characters. To add more they will always be give mokoko expresses in the future, so you will never be too late. Just chill and enjoy the game.
It was never a recommendation.. it was simply a video explaining why I personally don't do it :). I also believe you should play the game however you find fun :)

I fully agree with this video, I've been carefully weighing pushing alts since the beginning of the game and my alts are lower ilvl than static.
However, the trouble is, I got 3 alts at 1550, I left them there specifically to farm Brelshaza HM 1-3. This content isn't really hard for me despite playing on ilvl, but try finding group now, after Voldis at least on EUC is next to impossible. This whole honing/gatekeeping mania is sad. I really wish there was some skill indication for the purpose of gatekeeping besides just ilvl.
Any solution to getting into Brel HM groups on ilvl at the moment besides quitting the game? I don't want to hone up those characters, I'd rather spend on the 'main' characters.

That is the reason why i honed my alts too.
One thing that is not mentioned but absolutely important aswell: If you are in push push push mentality on your alts, you really want to buy the chests from raids, which takes away all the extra gold they would make over any 1540. I'm not saying you have to, but the amount of mats in raid chests is insanely worth it (when they give the same mats you need).
On the other hand, I still don't get how people expect level 9 gems for Akkan NM. Thah shit is straight up bussable with 4 event chars with lvl 7/8s and a staggerbot at 1580. And according to the math of the video, multiple level 9s on all chars most likely just meant swiping because they can't make their gold back. Pugging standards are crazy.
Tbh I feel this. My guild does alt runs on Akkan with slightly scuffed characters and we clear it just fine. (Mostly 1580-1590 ilvl, with lvl 7-8’s for gems). But we all have decent hands and play well together.
When you apply to a pug lobby though, the fact is that usually there’s someone applying that has 9’s, so they will be accepted. If having 9’s was the exception instead of the norm at that ilvl, itd be fine to have level 7’s. Unfortunately it’s just survival of the “fittest” in pug lobbies and perception is everything.
11k gold diff per week is pretty huge tbh, esp if you can get to 1580 with bound mats. I dont know how gatekeeping in NA is but as long as you got good qualities and lvl7 gems then akkan nm isnt too hard to get into (sometimes it takes a decent bit of applying to groups but still)

you have to at the end of the day ENJOY playing your alt
so if you are generating enough income and can spare it then yes you hone
but if you are honing to increase your income you are inting
i have a 1620 1610 a 1590~ 1560 1550 1550~ 2x 1540s from previous express passes that got benched
the 1590 was with the soul eater pass and he got to 1580 for like 60k gold from 1550
but holy fuck getting him to 1600 is a mountain of mats
the 1610 im main swapping to after i get lvl 10s so not soon but planned
the 1620 is only getting elixirs from now on
the 1560 and 2 1550s i have no desire to hone
i might even swap one of them with a duplicate of my main just so it's easier on the bank
basically you have to also consider what you want to do
do you want to be blasting on everything or on 1 thing
then look at your income
then decide if it's feasible
if it is not reevaluate and repeat this thought process
my goals are the 1610 to be blasting and im basically just going to be focusing on that character

but he is extremely stressed for months now so he could hone only to realize that he is competing with 1630s
so play like you will just know that there are consequences no matter what you choose
so make sure you are fine with those consequences

1. Push 1 character to 1620 to play tower HM.
2. Realize you're only 1620 with 1 10 and +20 weapon.
3. Sit without a support, since they're very limited and only joining +23-25, full 10 gems characters.
4. Give up and run tower NM anyway.
The EUC bus discord's regular run channel is literally just endless + 1 support posts for Voldis HM, everyone honed DPS, and they have no support to clear with. Plus you need way higher DPS than like 90% of players actually do to clear HM without elixirs, most of the P2W bozos aren't going to complete it without a handful of elixirs anyway.

I honed 5 characters to 1580 because I like akkan and I want to play it more. Also why are we not talking about the gatekeeping happening at 1540? You're doing NKayangel and HBrel 1-2. Nobody is gonna take your 1540 when there are 1550, 60, 70s that exist. Brel HHN lobbies are getting rarer, means you have to get to 1550. Even then you're competing spots with other players from 1560-1600. What you farm now on your 1540 may be worth less couple months from now.
I just think its fun to play Akkan 6 times I think the 1585+ push needs to be thought about more so but I have no prob honing alts to my fav raid in the game
I don't know if that's the case in US servers, in EU , me personally i have 1 main 1620 and 9 alts 1580-1600except my main all of them have full lvl 7 , and i always make my own party with maximum one friend and i allways fill the loby, akkans go like 15-20 mins per run, Voldis maybe 1h and 30 mins cuz is still new for some people. As for brel i do 1 week brel 1-3HM 4 NM 1 week kayangel HM due to having same gold reward as brel 1-3 HM but with better mats for rewards. So is completly false that if you have full lvl 7 you will not get in parties. And IDK what kind of math was that guy doing, as 1580 you get akkan 7500 G + brel 7500 + kaya 6500 per character 21500 G x char x 6 thats 129000 gold. 2 weeks of raids only raises another alt to 1580. raw mats on 6 x 1580 considering a leap is 120g, you get 8 x day x character, 48x day , 336 x week , thats another 40k gold. so lets say with blues and reds . you get close to 200k a week easy. (not to mention u have access to higher tier of fate embers. Builds, you don't have to go 5x3+1 , and even if you do, a good build 5x3+1 + cost of peheons depends on the class can vary inbetween 40k-150k (not talking about 1820 spec/crt/swift+, but about 1770-1800) . The real thing is, how much time can you spend ingame. In base of that you build ur alts.
And then Korea's Raid Gold changes come in a couple months and I'll be glad to have my roster 1580+ not having to do clowns and brel normal that give me beggar's money.
When that happens, they will also give honing buff to get your characters to 1580. Exactly how they did with buff to 1490 when they nerfed valtan/vykas gold. Pushing alts past 1540 right now ain't worth it

people value characters on their accounts in different ways. Mains, raid alts, gold alts, lopangers ect. The video premise is solid for people who have gold alts. They are not efficient to hone unless expressed if all you are looking for is more gold for your characters you prefer more. Even as a raid alt it depends if you enjoy the raids you get access to by honing more. Kaya HM nty, Akkan I like but don't want to wait 10+minutes in lobbies up to an hour for a fun 25 minute session.

A system like bdo where you can copy gear to other characters would be game changing, or at the very least to transfer to characters that are in the same class(deathblade, reaper, souleater, dh). I hate investing hundred of hours in one character just to get gatekeept on the rest of my roaster
imagine being 1620+ and get gatekeeped again at ivoky tower HM. if you don't have stastic team, then being 1620+ is not really a good idea unless you are 22+ weap with tones of lv10 gems and also a good synergy or good meta class. Supports at 1620 are very rare and hard to find, they cannot respond for the rest of dps characters out there.
Honing your alt to 1580 was not that bad, since you have a long time stacking materials bound from chaos dungeon and other legion raids from 1540+ and just hone it slowly through time. higher content from 1580+ give you better chance for better quality accessories, better shards and honing mats from chaos dungeon. if you get 1580 early, you can saving up a lot materials from above contents for the future, also running akkan normal takes like 15+ weeks to get fully set. Example as me, my other alts stay at 1585 - 1590 and each one of them have like over 2 millions shards and 1200+ radiant honor leapstones.
if you can afford to hone 1620 ilvl you should afford atleast major skill gem 10lvl, like surge, barrage etc or bunch of 9lvl gems on character like gunslinger
i get about being efficient but i dont understand why ppl need to justify earning back gold u spend to play a char u enjoy? i see it as an investment to my enjoyment yes i might make not as much gold but i can do more fun content at least that's how i see it
Because everyone is different, brother. Thats the beauty of life and humans. I find enjoyment in progressing certain characters and hitting goals that I have for them, just like I do IRL. It’s fun for me. I enjoy playing my alts but I enjoy even more that I’m working them towards the ultimate goal of juicing my glaivier and slayer.

This reasoning is only valid to casual/solo or dual main players. For anyone else, the cost is only a detail and the pleasure taken playing their alt is more important than anything. I'm that from the point of view of a 1620 main / 3 1600 alt player.
Also the gem argument is bs, I have no problem finding a pug lobby on my lvl 7 gems alt and most people still have lvl 7/8 with events.
For most people, it is an issue. You're an exception if you never have an issue getting into pug lobbies at 1580 ilvl with level 7/8 gems.. an extreme exception.

I managed to save myself a little by having only 2 sets of gems for my top 6. 2 of the chars use event 7/8 event gems. I end up selling all gems I get when I need to hone and when I want to upgrade gems I sell all honing mats.
I stop playing cuz I keep getting gate keeped from doing raids or I sit in match matching for an hour and never get a que.
i got 7 chars, 4 1600+, 1 of them 1610 and 2 1597.5 and 1592.5 SE. just buy packs to be able to buy ark passes but i just make my money off market and just play for fun. i wont however push with alot of unbound mats
i must be weird then xD i got my main i love to play then i got rest of my gold earners i treat as true alts their just their to get me gold most them where made from power passes so i paid almost nothing for them my SE main is 1605 and rest my gold earners are like 1540 sept for my aero which is 1581 but ye i agree u dont need 6 1580s the cost alone is ridiculous if u have to make ur alts 1540 but personally i wouldn't go past it not how things currently are way to exspensive plus we got elixers its just not possible without swiping

if you have 1 main and 2 alts like me and im strongly suggest you hon your alt to 1580 at least the mats you got from legion, abyss, guardian and chaos is able to fund into your main if you dont do that i can assure you will not able to catchup to the endgame content. "REMEMBER DO NOT OVER HON" and "DO NOT HON ONLY THE WEAPON". Equalized it.

I have 5 1600+ bards. Gear sets are dirty cheap, and gems are swappable. Also split over 4 accounts so 3 of them had path to level with

Currently working on a dps so I can toss my extra support to lazy town because my friend group has literally too many supports.
This all may be true. But I have more fun in the game with all 6 being 1600+. I don't get why my chars have to make the gold back? I don't need gold I need juiced chars that pump dmg!

What about all the extra items you get when you're higher level and sell on the AH for thousands of gold each week? You can sell some mats, accessories, stones, gems, quest items, to make up for the cost of honing over time, and every once in a while you get lucky and sell something for a huge gain. You can make 100-200k+ gold off a single item if you're lucky. That won't happen as often with low level characters.
Unlucky i didn't drop a single Accessoire worth more than 20k in about 6 months with my full 1580+ roster i have since kayangel release 😅
But yeah you can make a good amount of gold by selling unbound leapstones and shit
The numbers I presented are if you literally sell every single tradeable material you earn on a 1540 alt and a 1580 alt.
RNG is RNG. You don’t get increased good RNG the higher you hone haha.
If anything, your class is a more determining factor on sellable accessories than ilvl once you go past 1540.
My highest selling accessories were on my soul eater and slayer on release, both when they were between 1540-1580. Other than that, everything else is pure luck.

Personally, I hone my 6-pack in 1600+, and why? Because I want to play the game and the raids it offers with my favourite characters.
Why continue to give random advice on what to do and what not to do? Let people play as they want.
And stop inventing that Alts aren't profitable. The higher you hone them, the longer it will take for them to become profitable, but the more gold you'll generate.
People who make 150/250k a week don't just play one or two characters btw.

i made more character because i found it fun to play more but then the cost makes me dislike having alts because i have characters that i think are fun but will collect dust and just farm mats, etc. Im not saying they should just reduce everything but i think something should change. im fine with a grind but for the same reason in the video, they ARE boring. I want to play the content of the game and grind that instead.
Why bother even making different classes for your 1540 alts if you're doing them PURELY for just weekly raid gold? Just make 6 of the same characters and have them share high level gems. I push my top 6 characters to 1580+ because I enjoy playing them AND I farm materials much faster to hone my main. Currently my main is 1620 and my other five alts are 1600 and I'm not poor.
I very much enjoy my alts, even playing them at 1520-1560 (since I have 2 rosters). But I LOVE my Glaivier and Slayer. I don’t want to play only them though. I want to enjoy combat from all types of classes, perspective is what makes playing my glaive and slayer so special, if that’s all I played it’d get boring
I would agree with this pre-gargadeth, but even on ilvl the runs I've done are much faster than on ilvl sonavel. It's expensive as fuck but if you like playing those chars and can afford it might as well push

For real, y'all need to get the maths outta your head. Play the game because you want to. Play the game because you want to raid more and do more end game content. I brought up all my alts to 1580+ not because of the so-called "ROI," but because I liked playing those classes and I wanted to raid on those classes. Some of you guys go too hard on the maths/gold income, but what about the enjoyment. Imagine forcing yourself in real life to continuous to work hard because the money is good or you need the money, but are you enjoying what you do for work? I would hate to work a job that I did not enjoy even though the income was good. Here, same concept and really for any MMO. Now, on the other hand, if you are pushing alts to 1580 for both the enjoyment and the so-called ROI over the next year +, then it's a win-win for you.
I simply think some of these youtubers/streamers blow the whole gold-income scene out of hand. Play the game, have fun. Swipe if you want.

i do it because i want to play the current content more than one time per week. thats it. why play a game for max efficiency and not for fun? and all my 1580s have paid themselves back with lucky drops. the ROI argument is so fucking stupid. it doesnt count any drops you get you can sell.
How much gold does it cost for one caracter to go to 1600 from 1560 ?
If you have all the bounded mats, farm and make all your own prime orehas then average cost will be ~500k-1m with soul eater express. However, if you don't farm and need to buy materials. Expect it to be closer to 2m+ because radiant leaps are spicy rn 😂

@@omg1876if it costs you 500k-1m with bounded materials just to get from 1560 to 1600 then you are pretty much bad luck. I honed my alt from 1520 to 1600 during the event with around 300k ish or so.

As simple as it shpuld be to some point like 1560 or even 1580 shpuld be free atleast for gold taps and remove orehas. All content on that ilevel could be same as now with gold. 1600+ should get sensible more gold. I think alts shpuld be free of charge for playing. If you have 2-3 mains that is fine give them more gold.
I have 2 x 1606, 3 x 1590+ and 1 x 1560 (slowly going for 1580) everyone are 5x3+1, wd are waiting for rework but i have accesories to go 5x3+1. Some lvl9 gems and one lvl 10 dmg gem on scouter. Now im doing gems for SE. I dont have 1620 and what ? I have fun playing those classes and I prefer to do Akkan then Vykas or Clown ;) Im doing guardians and chaos unrested.
You don't get gatekept by level 7 gems if you just party lead :)

and 1 thing is true, 6x1600 will never be efficient, alts at 1580 too, its facts just it, nothing to be angry about, play your way and dont talk shit about others
I feel like something is missing here. Using his number assuming 26,000 gold per week income for one 1540 alt, it only takes two weeks of farming from 6 x 1540 alts to push one of them to 1580. That is so much more efficient/enjoyable than honing one character from 1580 to 1590 or buying one lvl 10 cd gem. So the benefit is obviously not in gold but in enjoyment.
The game is doomed man, there are less and less players. Expect less than 10k players next year.

Normal brels are insanely fast to get into. (Hard brels just ain’t it).
Clowns are easy to get into at 1540.
NM Kaya is sometimes a pain but it you have a built char it’s not too bad. Especially if you only have a few to run per week.
@@itsDubla I’m not sure if you have a normal pf experience since you a content creator and you have a static, but even at normal brel I had to push my character to 1560 just to get in a party relatively quickly.
I was still getting gatekept from some parties at 1540 because all the juicer decided they don’t want to do Brel hard and started doing Brel normal instead that lead to all the 1540 and under parties lacking supports for there run. so either you got into a quick party of your sitting for 20 minute plus in a 1540 and under party looking for support.
clown is hit or miss at 1540 for the same reason not as bad as Brel but most people are setting up skip parties and are looking for 1560 + as well but I’ve seen 1540s get in a bit more often if your lucky.
@@itsDubla but ultimately my main point is that I don’t think people are pushing alts for ROI, I think they are pushing them because the community sets ridiculous gatekeeping standards to get into raids.
so unless you keep up with them or have friends to play with your not able to get your raid done without getting gate-kept for hours.

I doubt people know the names of my alt roster characters since they have nothing to do with “dubla”, but I pug 8 brel 1-3’s and 8 clown per week on my (4) 1520’s, and (4) 1540’s and clown is the bigger struggle for me for sure, not so much on the 1540’s tho. I do have PLC title and horns on each character with good 5x3 builds and level 7 gems for the most part with DD30. Idk if that’s making a big difference but possibly.
For Brel I try to only apply to groups that have some dps and at least one support in it already because it’s usually easier to find 1 support than 2. I’m on NAE as well, so maybe there’s a difference in the culture to your region? Idk :/. I’m sorry you’re struggling in party finder tho, that’s no fun.
@@itsDubla yea it might be and experience thing because I’m in the same region and I use to be able too get into parties fast with my 1540s and 1520, but eventually you could start to see a shift in people gatekeeping mentality week by week where it just kept getting harder and harder to actually get into a group.
You get to the point where you just say fuck it I’ll just hone up another 10 levels to keep up with their requirements.
If it wasn’t for that I would leave most of my alts at 1490 and just focus on getting my main fully decked out, but I always feel pressured to hone if I want to raid on my alts and not spend 30 minute per raid just trying to get into the raid.
I work full time so I don’t have the luxury of spending that much time just searching for a party that will take me. So my only solutions are to keep up with the treadmill or completely drop the character.

This game chose to stay poor in the west. The level of gatekeeping that the game intentionally promotes is too insane. Even for a hardcore MMO player. This is a way to not enjoy games.

Your math is a bit off. There are very detailed roster spreadsheet calcs that currently put gold diff at about 20k. 1580 for try hards were due to akkan bussing which was additional 20-30k per 1580 plus char. The most up to date payback was in the 20-30 week range
Gems should never be considered gold spent. They're sellable. Liquidity on a character should not be included in a strict ROI.
Third : payback period is stupid to an extent. Do a cash flow instead over 1 2 3 years,etc.

Idk what charts you’re referring to, if you refer to them, you should at least link them instead of saying, “some charts.” But, unless there’s an untapped system in the game that I don’t know about, it’s not 20k diff per week after dailies and raid gold. My numbers and “the detailed chart numbers” can’t be that different. Maybe from a 1580 MAIN and a 1540 ALT, due to other roster wide weekly activities. But in pure tradable mats/gold, it’s not 20k.
Gems should absolutely be considered. If they are sitting on an alt consistently and aren’t being traded back and forth with your main (because they are the same class)…. They are with that alt. And unless you eventually put them on your main, even if you switch them from one alt, then one day decide to give them to a different alt, it’s still invested into an alt lol, it’s not contributing to your main, or giving you positive gold into your roster, so it’s still negative roi. That gem ain’t giving you positive roi just sitting there. So unless one day you decide to strip that alt of gems and throw it on your main, it’s negative roi, period.
Last year at this time we were struggling to get to clown. It was expensive as hell just to raise an alt from 1415-1475…. Now we are getting passes/events to raise a character to 1580 lmao. WHY on earth would you calculate an alt’s roi for more than 6-12 months??? The game changes way too quick for that to happen.
Shoot, we might get the 1580 event in MARCH with Breaker. Getting to 1580 and above for cheaper than ever before. WAY cheaper than spending 290k to bring a current alt from 1540-1580 lol.

The thing about this video is that because I got multiple 1580s (7) The amount of money I've been making from just purely rested chaos and sonavale has exceeded return on investment maybe 3 to 5 times over which helped me create a 1620 in the end of the day. Maybe 6 months from now if you are a new player doing this would not be good but doing it in the moment was way beyond worth it
It def hasn't returned 3-5 times your investment. You likely haven't even returned it once, even if you honed them to 1580 as soon as we got the honing nerf to 1580. It's really simple math. Even with mats at their absolute highest right this second (which is the math I used), it's still 5.5 months. And they haven't been at this price forever... they've escalated to this high. Meaning that a couple months ago when leaps were only 100g instead of 180, your ROI would take even longer. So again... you likely haven't even made back your gold back from honing costs for 7 1580's....

Also I've held out on months and months of leaps and do my una's every day and only home with bound Matts. I've only used raw gold and occasionally had to buy unbound blue (1g a stack lol) just to make final push when I'm close. It's not has hard as you think it is and doesn't cost as much. The amount of money I've made at this point when game is slowed down with 1580s is insane.
@@SeanCat sona been out since August… even if leaps were at 200 gold the ENTIRE time since it released (even though that’s completely inaccurate), thats still only 180k. If it was 2k per day like you said the entire time (which is again wildly inaccurate), it’s only 224k. Again… you definitely have not made that money back just from leaps or sonavels period. It’s just math. It might feel great to sell those every day and it “feels” as if you’re making your gold back.. but the reality is that you aren’t, especially if you’ve done any honing past 1580, or bought any gems past level 7 for that character.
You can do what you want and play the game however you’d like. As long as you’re having fun that’s how you should play. But saying things like “making 3-5 times your investment back” is just wildly incorrect.
@itsDubla why would I ever buy gems? Game gives you literally a level 8 every week atm. With chaos (x3 a week for weekly) across them + cube + kaya shop and tons of other means if obtaining them just doing weekly grind you can even sell that and make a ton of money. You're looking at it from very few avenues when there is ton more you get throughout the week. The knowledge you're presenting kind of shows me there is tons of things you're doing that you're forgetting, missing or not using time optimization well. I don't even think I am doing everything perfectly. I have a full time job and do side gigs so my time isnt fully lost ark. I do my weeklies, weekly raids, and sitting una on everyone and I still am raking in over 350k+ a week. Every hone on the 1580s have been with bound mats OR free hone. My zerker is literally 1593 alone from free hones. (Occasional weekly weapon tap on Akkan weapon fully solar juiced with all bound solars.)
Using your logic if im making 350k a week I literally pay off a 1580 every week. I have never bought any leaps and I sell all my reds + leaps and its been a good life.
I think a few months from now, 1580 will be a horrid investment. At the moment (Or if you got to it sooner) its insane return on investment.

The guy on the video its only right if youre a "new" player. If youre a Veteran you should already have you Roster 1580. And all them with 9 gem dmg at least.
