Gordon is only angry on other shows where the people deserve to be shouted at, like professional cooks on Hells Kitchen or stubborn owners/cooks on Kitchen Nightmare/Hotel Hell . In MASTERCHEF on the other hand, the cooks are homecooks with less experience, so Gordon is not harsh and the most common phrase he says on Masterchef is "what a shame" and he sighs in disappointment often, but he has almost never shouted or cursed on this show.

Marissa was very smart when she chose to do a smaller amount of custard, thus reducing the time it needs to cook. And of course she nailed the sugar shell on the first try.
Yeah the thing is not only did she fill her custard only half way of the ramekin, she also put it in the oven 3 minutes earlier before Jonnathan. As of Jonnathan, he put it in the oven quite late thus he filled the ramekin too much making it impossible to actually cooked and set in time. Also he messed up with the sugar cage twice and it's still ruined while Marissa she completely nailed yhe whole thing almost perfectly

Seriously respect the judges right now. He lost, and they encouraged him to get better instead of yelling the living heavens out of him.
I've never seen Masterchef judges yell at their contestants though. Strongly berating them (especially the overly cocky ones), yes, but never straight up yelling. That's because their contestants are more or less amateur chefs who are still learning. Even Gordon Ramsey is really kind when he's on Masterchef.
@@clarizamae09 Well Ramsey is overall a good guy, his nasty temperament is really only for people he feels are wasting his time and aren't even trying. If someone has passion and drive for cooking he cuts them alot of slack for trying.

I really like the fact that despite Johnathan's failure, the chef still tasted the dish & appreciated him for not giving up to lift up his spirits and also so that Johnathan did not feel bad for losing it.
The MasterChef Canada is like a therapy to watch, people being nice to each other❤. Where as, if it was MasterChef US, then the dish would've have been thrown in the dustbin & the chef's would've done best to demotivate or bash the contestant.
I like Jonathan's smile even though he was in a sad situation.

Marissa's balance between precision and speed is excellent, you can tell she was under a lot of internal pressure, but her drive saw her through.

The second he said that, I knew he would lose. When Marissa said it was unfamiliar and it’s going to be tough, I knew she would win.
That's what he basically made; a creme brulee except without the torching part xD as soon as he said that I'm like, "sorta but not really xD they may be similar in taste but consistency is different. creme caramel is more custard-y where as brulee is more creamy."
