my guess is that hiyori acts like a summon(maybe one of shinjis SP moves) that runs around and attacks for a set time and that might be why we dont see the flash from shinjis SP move during the trailer as hiyori was already out.
I believe you’re right I was hoping that hiyori would be her own character but at least we got her in the game
