I really love your video. I’m happy you touched on different topics even if it wasn’t a con for you. Thank you for your unbiased opinions. You hear so many cons amongst military spouses and then when you get there it’s not your experience. We are stationed in Hawaii and they said the school system was horrible but my girls flourished academically. It’s really what you make it and I grew up in Richmond, VA small world. Great video love 🖤
We'll be headed to El Paso next, I always try to do a lot of research before we make our next move. This was helpful, thank you for the realistic review of the area!!
I know this video is a few years older but you are so right about the traffic. Now with the expansion on I-10 and the 375 are probably the worst right now.
I was on orders for two years 2016-2017 at fort Bliss with the army reserves. And I'll just say... Even though I'm from LA I still come back to El Paso at least twice a year. The weather is hot from May to August. September and October are hot, but they're like 80-90 degree days. But it was hotter in Kuwait. If El Paso had well paying jobs outside of the Army I would've probably stayed.
You seem SUPER positive and I LOVE that. I try to always look at the bright side too. We are coming there in a few months and im looking forward to it. THanks for the video.

Hello, I was looking at homes for sale in the area and found some within 79938 and 79934 zip codes. Do you know if these are nice areas? Thanks in advance for any info.
Just got our orders for Fort Bliss in August! Im curious, did you do on base housing or off? Im seeing bad reviews for the on base housing, so Im wondering if its better to just do off base and rent a home/apartment? Thanks! 😊

In order to put in an application for base housing you're going to need hard orders but in the meantime you can do your research and find out which houses you would like to apply for. get the application fill it out have all of your paperwork ready like your marriage certificate, If you have any children you will need their birth certificate or their enrollment in deers. so that when the heart orders come down you'll be ready to go. Keep in mind it's not likely you'll get your 1st choice so make sure you have 3 solid communities you would really consider living in.
@@anthonycates7778 yep I said town. Ozona is still considered a town. They don’t have city ordinances that cities have. For example, you can pop fireworks in your front yard. You don’t need a permit to add a shed in back of your home. That’s why it’s the Biggest Little TOWN in the World.
I thought I was the only one that saw the bad driving!!! I will give them a taste of their own medicine. One of the cons, another con is the number of attractions and the dating scene is half good, half bad. As far as other things, it has everything. Has many schools and has bars everywhere. It's so affordable. Good place to retire. No natural disasters.
Hi. Not sure what attractions you are specifically looking for but you can download an app called 'visit el paso' and it will list available attractions and things to do.
As a former life long born and raised El Pasoan, I felt this was a bit bias, but you did explain that was where you were coming from as a person who loves it there. I wish you luck there, and enjoyed your positive vibe... even though I don't think it gives a real world view of El Paso. EDIT: As for night life, El Paso has to be the Stripper Club HQ, as there are so many of them in the city... also there are plenty of dance clubs and bars of all sizes there to mingle if that is your thing. EDIT 2: Driving, yeah its gotten very crazy there in El Paso with so many people moving to the area, but it has nothing on Dallas or San Antonio, and for sure not Houston... When it gets that bad there, time to move. LOL. When I was at BLISS, all the soldiers hated it it seemed, they wanted to go back to Fort Hood, as they said they had stuff to do there, they could be in Dallas in a couple hours and see a Football game, or be in Austin and see a good concert.. Yeah El Paso is LAND LOCKED, and that there is a Major Con for people used to short drives to be in another major city and all its options for fun. Hey if you get a chance go check out CLOUD CROFT NM a short drive away, save it for one of the days its super hot in El Paso and you want to cool off.. ENJOY!
It’s hot! So what. It’s hot in other parts of the country. It’s also probably humid in those other parts of the country. So, you have the choice of being dry roasted or well basted. Lack of diversity. You tactfully dodged saying El Paso has lots of Mexicans. I grew up there. I was in the minority there being white. Yet I felt at home there and the people good and accepting. My education there was very good. The education you receive is what you decide to make of it. If your folks don’t appreciate the education system or the value of education, they will most likely not invest the time with the kids to ensure they get a good education.
Sir I feel you had alot of selective hearing when watching this video. Everything you said I literally agreed with. I stated multiple times throughout this video I was voicing opinions of other spouses and soldiers in order to give a will rounded look at the City of El Paso not just my love for it When you start off with a contentious attitude or pre conceived notions of a person you will only see things that bother you even if the person has the exact same outlook as you. PROVERBS 20:3

Whats the name of that man made lake 2 hours from El Paso ?
ascarate lake
In New Mexico, there is Elephant Butte, Caballo Lake, and a few others here are there. Those two are the most popular amongst El Pasons
Actually Ozona TX is “Biggest Little Town in the World”
Isn’t that Reno, NV? Biggest little city in the world 😀
@@anthonycates7778 yep I said town. Ozona is still considered a town. They don’t have city ordinances that cities have. For example, you can pop fireworks in your front yard. You don’t need a permit to add a shed in back of your home. That’s why it’s the Biggest Little TOWN in the World.
Omg she talking bout me when she said people drive too fast 💀
Kick ass👍👍
I thought I was the only one that saw the bad driving!!! I will give them a taste of their own medicine. One of the cons, another con is the number of attractions and the dating scene is half good, half bad. As far as other things, it has everything. Has many schools and has bars everywhere. It's so affordable. Good place to retire. No natural disasters.
Hi. Not sure what attractions you are specifically looking for but you can download an app called 'visit el paso' and it will list available attractions and things to do.
Are you Jamaican?
No mam, just plain ol' southern American 🤣
ENJOY!
I sincerely appreciate your candid feed back, I know that what I am looking for in this station of life may be so different then others.
It’s hot!

@@athomewithtroy1690 I couldn’t have said it any better. God Bless you and family
Thank you! Very informative. My husband just was sent there for training for Government Contract in KUWAIT!🙏🥲💙👆
