- Since it’s Christmas, I’ll share one of my most mind-blowing tricks. I hate how long and tedious it is, but most math tricks are. If you can tolerate the wait, it’s a hell of a mystery. The steps:
1. You must be playing with a full deck.
2. Shuffle and deal 4 piles. Each pile must contain more than 10 cards.
3. Pick a random number 1-10 and move that many cards from the top to the bottom of each pile.
4. Turn each pile face up and subtract the two highest cards from the two lowest cards.
5. Turn the piles face down and move that many cards from the bottom to the top.
6. Turn the top cards face up and remember the lowest value.
7. Deal down to that number in each pile and you’ll find a matching four of a kind.

There must be something more to it. First of all, if the cards are truly randomized, why is each 10 in its own pile? No pile has 2 or more 10s! The odds of that are only 3/32.

Yeah those math tricks can get wild. I'm not into math enough to figure out exactly how they're done. My favorite is deal three groups of 5 cards and you can have someone think of any card they see, and a little 'magic' later and you find it without them ever touching or saying the card out loud

When you say 20 & 11 at one point, do you just add the 2 highest cards and subtract the 2 lowest cards or is it based on position?

It's not always 10's obviously. It finds whatever 4 of a kind IS available in each pile. It's wild.

Let's say there's different cards laying on top at that stage of the trick.
Do you always subtract the two lowest values from the two highest values?
Or what exactly is the system there?

2 kings = 20. 8+3 = 11. 20 - 11 = 9. I mean the cards are on the table.
Yeah, I would just assume (highest possible sum) - (sum of remaining 2), but that’s probably a key detail. I need to buy a deck of cards to try this.
@@frankpaws he’s asking how to add them and subtract them. If not highest with highs, and lowest with lows, it can easily end up 10+8 - 10+3 = 5

You know might sound dumb but I’m what ya call a nerdy Jock. I’ve been in mma for over 25 years teaching and competing. But in my spare time which is like this late at night till about 3 am I like to read comics, draw, chess, hell even working on card tricks and coin tricks. Just how I relaxed.
I lost my way with all that stuff when I had my 44th surgery and had to sell my fight promotion and gym and stopped teaching. I over the last year and a half just kinda went into depression as teaching and competing as my life since I was 20 years old.
Since day 1 of watching one of your videos I started following and laughing at your banter with these know it alls. My fav will always be when you say something about their moms or sisters. And from that day on either here or TikTok as soon as I see it’s you I like the post immediately. I have actually started working on card tricks and what ever stuff. Tryn to get myself back. I know sounds dumb but because of your videos and wittiness and remembering how much I liked doing this stuff is starting to help bring me out of it. Thanks again. I do not know and do not understand physics, astronomy, nor do I fully realize and understand Einstein's theories of relativity .... but this thing and this person should go down in the history of geniuses, or at least be awarded a Nobel Prize for calculation and talent in the fingers ...as well as the MOST nice and fun person to watch on TH-cam. I can only imagine what he does with those fingers ...after the lights go out and he and his wife head to the bedroom ....!!!!!!!
