I was at celebration and I saw him come in to his booth to sign autographs and he had a sign that said "sorry I lost my voice" I think he was just coming out of this panel to sign
The fact that he came out, under the weather and shared stories and laughter, tells me Mark is a treasure and an ambassador for Star Wars and good people everywhere.
God bless this beautiful man. Truly an American treasure. The definitive Joker and Luke Skywalker. What a damn legend. Such a huge part of my childhood. Hamill is the man!
such a nice, gracious guy. It's not like all his experiences with star wars, and fans have been positive. I think he focuses on the positive because he knows how passionate some fans are and what a comfort it is for some people. It seems like he makes every effort to support peoples fanhood because he doesn't want to screw with anyone's source of comfort.
To be quite honest --- it makes me nauseous to see Harrison Ford act all uppity about Star Wars and act like he's too good for it --- Mark always remained a fan and that's why he's the greatest ambassador for the franchise
Bill Belzek, he doesn't man. Harrison just isn't like Carrie or Mark. They're talkers, while he is more reserved. If his press during Episode VII or the 40th panel didn't show you how grateful he is, idk what will. Harrison is awesome. Yeah, I would love if he was as into it as Mark, but Mark's a passionate nerd. I'm sure Harrison has his passions.
Mark Hamill is such a class act. Of course, he is grieving Carrie Fisher like the rest of us and yet he still shows up with a smile, with enthusiasm, with a large degree of graciousness and patience. To get out of bed and carry on, even with laryngitis to talk to fans for hours, shows a level of Character that is rare among of all of us. Happy Easter, Mark... and thank you.
He said it himself during his tribute to Carrie. He needs this just as much as we do. There's a reason he does so many panels. He's a talker. He loves talking, and we love listening to him. It's part of his process. You know those times when you're with friends talking about real shit and you totally lose track of time? It's therapeutic. I think it's necessary.
I can attest that Mark isn't just a fan now, he's been a fan forever. I worked at a comic store in NYC (Funny Business on Amsterdam) in the early-mid 80s. Every week I filled his folder with comics. Never got to meet him but I can confirm his authenticity as a long-time geek.
I totally believe it. Mark has said himself that he has loved comics since early childhood and he is no stranger to comic book stores. There is even a interview he did that showed him taking his kids to a comic book store.
He's done a ton of voiceover work people don't recognize, because he's so good at making a voice that doesn't sound like him. He did the bad guy in the the old LucasArts adventure game Full Throttle, too...I didn't know until a few years ago it was him. Guess I shouldn't have skipped the credits :P
It really is underrated and nobody ever brings up the irony of Mark Hamill playing an evil emperor that shoots lightning, who also wants his son to join him on the "dark side".
Mark has been doing interviews and panels for 4 days in a row and he sounds tired but he won't stop cause he loves his fans so much ❤WE LOVE YOU BACK HAMILL
Kind of interesting how 30 years ago fans would have been much more interested to see Harrison Ford than Mark Hamill. But decades later, it's Hamill whom the fans love, pretty much above any other Star Wars actor. He's a fan himself, a great raconteur and with a real sense of fun. People appreciate that. Can't wait to see him back at the centre of a major feature again. His work in the OT is underrated, especially in Empire, where he anchors the movie. He has to spend most of his time playing opposite either a puppet or a guy in a mask, and he sells all the scenes he's in.
I was 9 in 1977 and liked Luke more than Han from the start. I like listening to any of them, but would choose Mark over the rest. Mark's energy and enthusiasm was far greater than Harrison's, and I see the latter more as Indy than Solo. Yeah, I know it is a bit odd since Star Wars was first.
I was 9 in 1977 too and since the first time I saw the characters of SW on a newspaper before seeing the movie, the one and only that captured my heart is that Luke Skywalker brought to life by the awesome Mark Hamill. He was and still is my hero icon. Now all these years after the RTJ, I understand we only have been waiting for this moment, to see him again.
I totally agree how much all these years we unconsciuosly have missed Luke Skywalker and Mark Hamill, that when we first saw the movies may could have seemed too perfect and distant. But Time is gentleman and now we clearly feel that missing.
Isn't he?? As someone who is absolutely terrible at public speaking, I think I might be able to learn a lot about how to do it well just from watching him. Plus, he's entertaining as HELL to watch.
Matt McCallum It wasn't solely the talking, but the fact he had a medical condition going on at this time, a case of laryngitis. If it weren't for that, it wouldn't have been so severe. And even though it was, he was still perfectly content to keep trucking along, because he really does love the fans that much.
People, he also voiced the Hobgoblin in the 90's Spider-Man series. If anything, Lucasfilm producer; Kathleen Kennedy probably paid him enough of his favorite Ex-Presidents for Star Wars Celebration with his strained voice for you all. Joker ain't his only legendary voiceover y'know.
My life sucks right now and when I am really sad and depressed I always watch Marks beautiful works and he always makes me happy and one of the few people that makes me happy in this world
I could listen to this man tell stories for hours. One of the most underrated acting talents in the country and a class A human being. We love you Mark!
I could sit and watch Mark Hamill talk for hours and hours about paint drying on a wall. Luke Skywalker is quite simply the most iconic film character of all-time. But more-so, the man behind it all is the most generous, candid, and gracious class act of a human being working in entertainment. Thank you for all of your time, good sir. You made Star Wars Celebration 2017 SO worth my time. Looking forward to Anaheim 2019, and of course... The Last Jedi!!!
Mark is great. A great person. So humble and funny and just a fan like we all are. He is such a legend. Mark really enjoys staying on the stage every day on SWC. Thanks for everything Mark!
I wish the director(s)/writer(s) of Star Wars would listen to some of his ideas. Like his idea that there should have been a proper goodbye for the most revered Star Wars character, Han Solo, instead of just a wordless drop down a chute. For example they could have had Luke show up suddenly, but too late, as Han is stabbed. He uses his mastery of the force to throw Kylo Ren aside like a rag doll (cathartic moment for the audience). Then as Chewbacca holds Han in his arms, sobbing, Luke tries to use the force to save Han's life. Han says weakly "it's too late for me, kid. But the rebels need you. And take care of the falcon for me, would you?" something to that effect. Would have been a much more powerful moment for long-time fans of Star Wars, and a reverent and very important final moment to cherish Han Solo's wily personality. can you imagine if Spock in Star Trek had simply died to phaser fire and fallen out of an airlock without any connection to Kirk? Yah, that's what the writers have done to Star Wars. HUGE missed opportunity there, among many others.
Well he's losing his voice, they should understand and respect Mark more for trying to even speak and be at the event. Lol hard being sick. I know how he feels.
Yeah I totally understand. I think that by being a part of Star Wars from the beginning they shared a special bond in that no one else could possibly know what that experience was like, and even though they were not necessarily best friends they shared something with each other that that no one else could - and now she's gone, and it must be utterly heartbreaking for him
I feel ashamed, I'm not a fan of Star Wars, I'm an introvert who keeps my feelings to myself, and yet i am ashamed after watching this for not knowing that Mark Hamill was an absolute and complete LEGEND, kudos to the man, few actors become bigger more charismatic personalities then they play, but Mr Hamill just blows it out of the park, i am a fan just from watching this. :D
I think it's because he is in episode 9 and is famously contractually obligated to have a beard in the sequels. He shaved it off after TFA and then had to grow it back for TLJ. He has said it takes a long time for him to grow one, and he worried about having it grown out enough in time to begin TLJ. He might just be saving himself the time, trouble and worry this time around of having to grow it back again for 9.
41.43 when Mark Hamill mishears lightsabers for life-savers, that is just so ADORABLE! I kinda wish someone had just asked him what his favorite candy is or something.. He's such a genuine, unaffected person, he actually didn't even instantly go to the fact that he's Luke and people would wanna know about his pov on lightsabers, he just thought someone wanted to know about his favorite candy, not that he had misheard. The SW connection came soon enough, but second. It's like he said, he is an internationally beloved icon but at the heart of it, he's one of us, a fan and a friend. Gotta love the man!
Mitaali Shukla He seems like the kind of person that if you stopped him on the street and asked him a question, he'd just talk all day. And I'd enjoy every moment of it!!
I love mark hamill. He's such a genuine guy and unlike some other key actors in the original trilogy he really loves and takes Star Wars as seriously as the fans. Harrison ford for example is the total opposite and it's disappointing because he's such an amazing actor and HAN solo is such a defining moment in his long, extensive, brilliant career which he owes a lot to this franchise.i always figured with age he would come to appreciate that and he really never has.
Rasmus& Rasmus I am 37 and agree. I would just like to shake his hand and thank him. He seems like a great person to sit down and have dinner with. He also seems so humble. I hope you get to meet him.
best thing a parent can do is cover up their child when they're little and turn them into a Star Wars fan. My son has been watching star Star Wars for 10 years.
I love that they just let Mark just sit and talk without anyone asking him questions, it just gives a nice laid back feel to the panel, and allows him to just be himself (well, HamillHimself.)
I've said it before, Mark has helped restore my faith in humanity. He is so down to Earth and actually cares about his fans so much. He is so funny, and I could listen to his stories forever PS I agree with that woman at 2:56. He certainly looks great in a beard!
This was easily my favorite panel to watch live all celebration. It's so fun to watch mark just talk about behind the scenes stuff and other stuff about just him it's just so entertaining.
That was so cool! I live in Florida but couldn't make it down from Jacksonville this weekend. These videos help so much because I was so down about missing out, being so close to it all, but not being able to go made me even more sad and depressed. Having the chance to see some of what I've missed has really lifted my spirits and made me feel better. Thank you so much for sharing this experience. May the Force be with you!!!
thank you for having this conversation with us, I do think of you as my friend Mark, you have been my friend these many years since I first saw you in Star Wars A New Hope. I do love your sense of humour 💜

Did you even watch the stream? Check 11:27
2:24 That guy in the audience who shouts "you look great" is awesome
He's in a lot better shape than he used to be
True...
He's back Baby!! He's working Movies, TV, specials. They're pumping full of vitamins, fish oils, kale, all that jazz.
Enzo 1965 Even if he does, with modern medical tech being the way it is, I'm sure he'd be able to get a fix for it.
2:56 That lady in the audience who shouts "you're still beautiful to me" is even more awesome
Poor Mark, he's been talking so much his voice sounds so sore. But the fans and myself loved it. Could listen to this guy for hours.
I think he said in an earlier 'conversation' he was actually sick
He probably has a cold, thats all
He said the other day that he had a touch of laryngitis. It's clearly gotten worse by the sound of it.
I was at celebration and I saw him come in to his booth to sign autographs and he had a sign that said "sorry I lost my voice" I think he was just coming out of this panel to sign
pokey gorilla totally agree, I could listen to him for hours. He's so unique but yet, just an ordinary family person you could relate to.
I said this before and I'll say it again, Mark Hamill is Star Wars Celebration.
krisj827 Agreed. His panels and his apperances are always my favorite part of celebration.
Ikr
He and Warwick both! Warwick is also great!
Ricardo Gadelha both are complete naturals, along with Carrie. How cool would it have been if Luke and Leia had a sitcom
totally agree.
Love it when he does his Harrison impression lol
If you haven't seen the Bad Lip Reading vid he did, check it out, he does Harrison Ford PERFECTLY.
Yes! And, he starts reading out quotes from the BLR vid at 17.58 actually!
Mark Hamill just gives his audience everything and more. He's an International Treasure.
Mark Hamill and Nicolas Cage are...
... International Treasure
in theaters june.
REALLY!!!!!!!!!!
The fact that he came out, under the weather and shared stories and laughter, tells me Mark is a treasure and an ambassador for Star Wars and good people everywhere.
Kaalen he has helped restore my faith in humanity
this guy needs a talk show
Yes!!!!
The world needs his talk show! I'm sure the Disney company could make it happen!
battlefield 1 fan pop culture quest, Google it.
and some hot tea.
He kinda has one, but his guests are toys and their owners... I guess?
God bless this beautiful man. Truly an American treasure. The definitive Joker and Luke Skywalker. What a damn legend. Such a huge part of my childhood. Hamill is the man!
Alex Love agreed
Goes to show that even with just one major acting role and one major voice acting role you can become a legend.

You hit the nail on the head.
MrShado beautifully said man I could't have said anymore better
Alex Love "You're a talker. talkers make me thirsty, and hungry." -Sander Glegane "The Hound."
Mark speaks very well..you can learn a lot just from his mannerism. Hilarious and very entertaining.

He is a legend and truly dedicated to his fans so much that hes lost his voice from all the panels hes been part of this year
well, the dude is sort of a fan.
Rubber Bander and Proud he has helped restore my faith in humanity
His dedication to fans is AMAZING!
His role as the firelord in avatar the last airbender is so underrated, I didn't know it was him for years blew my mind when I realized it
Yes, he was Ozai.
GandlafTheOffWhite yeah he was :)
It really is underrated and nobody ever brings up the irony of Mark Hamill playing an evil emperor that shoots lightning, who also wants his son to join him on the "dark side".
Closest thing well ever get to Luke being a Sith Lord.
Mark has been doing interviews and panels for 4 days in a row and he sounds tired but he won't stop cause he loves his fans so much ❤WE LOVE YOU BACK HAMILL

He is the Force.

What a great public speaker! The man is a living legend, love him!
Isn't he?? As someone who is absolutely terrible at public speaking, I think I might be able to learn a lot about how to do it well just from watching him. Plus, he's entertaining as HELL to watch.
you should just give him a whole weekend to talk... love him
Sham TKD he did a lot of talking and look what happened
Matt McCallum It wasn't solely the talking, but the fact he had a medical condition going on at this time, a case of laryngitis. If it weren't for that, it wouldn't have been so severe. And even though it was, he was still perfectly content to keep trucking along, because he really does love the fans that much.
Because his voice is gone all I hear is the joker
Unbound237 he sounds like an elderly reformed Joker who's been turned sane by Scarecrow's gas.
Unbound237 HELL YEAH!
Sometimes he even sounds like Yoda... :D
the sick joker from batman arkham city XD XD
People, he also voiced the Hobgoblin in the 90's Spider-Man series. If anything, Lucasfilm producer; Kathleen Kennedy probably paid him enough of his favorite Ex-Presidents for Star Wars Celebration with his strained voice for you all. Joker ain't his only legendary voiceover y'know.
My life sucks right now and when I am really sad and depressed I always watch
Marks beautiful works and he always makes me happy and one of the few people that makes me happy in this world
luke Skywalker the 2 Things will get better for you.
krisj827 thanks man😁😁😁
It'll get better bro. I used to be deep in depression and had little hope for the future.. Yet with time things got better. Be strong, you can do it
Luke Skywalker the 2nd
So.....you basically watch yourself.
Mark Hamill is an absolute professional when it comes to treating his fans well. I also get the impression he genuinely enjoys doing all this stuff.
I could listen to this man tell stories for hours. One of the most underrated acting talents in the country and a class A human being. We love you Mark!
"I have a question up here in the balcony"
"I dont care"
he's a goddamn savage, but thats why hes great lmao
He does not care about where the person is in the audience. He cares about the question. :)
Obviously lol. Hes probably one of the nicest celebrities when it comes to fan treatment
Luis Castillo and then the 12 year old girl asks her question lol
Little girl: :(
xDD
When
Can we just give Mark Hamill a talk show for force sakes.
Jackson Roemers
For force sakes. Going to say that from now on.
I've never seen a more wonderful human being. There's a good man with the best personality.
God bless this man for doing this even though he was sick
Mark Hamill is a hero, a true role model and someone we should all treasure. It's so good to see him having such a good time.
Mark is great. A great person. So humble and funny and just a fan like we all are. He is such a legend. Mark really enjoys staying on the stage every day on SWC. Thanks for everything Mark!
One of the most like-able humans, I can think of. Literally one of the most grounded, very witty and smartest man I can think of.
Mark Hamill is great. What a personable guy and funny storyteller.
I could listen to Mark forever. Like, really, forever.
mark is my favorite actor of all time, he such a beautiful man and he is the most loving and down to earth man ever
Two panels with Mark Hamill this year? Nice.
That was the most entertaining hour. The man has charisma coming out of every where. Thank You for giving your time this past weekend. It's been fun!
Funny because in Star Wars he isn't as likeable as Ford, yet in real life he is such a great person and seems way more grounded than Harrison.
thorinbane harrison doesnt even care man xD
Those Harrison Ford impersonations are on point. XD
Wish I had a father like Mark Hamill
SamS but what if he's suddenly going to act like a Joker ???
Wish I had a father. :(
Well, if carrie is space mom, he's space dad.
SamS I want him to adopt me. Is that to much to ask!?
I heard he's a grandfather now, I would love to have him as a grandpa. That kid is so lucky!!!
MegaSheen15
Tell me a story Grampa!!! 3 hours later.....
😂😂😂😂
He looks way healthier now than a few years back, good for him!
yoruneko34
He's trained hard.
Damn he was sick and he still showed up and did the panel! Such a nice guy
I could honestly listen too this man for hours and hours
Mark Hamill is my favorite human.
I wish the director(s)/writer(s) of Star Wars would listen to some of his ideas. Like his idea that there should have been a proper goodbye for the most revered Star Wars character, Han Solo, instead of just a wordless drop down a chute. can you imagine if Spock in Star Trek had simply died to phaser fire and fallen out of an airlock without any connection to Kirk? Yah, that's what the writers have done to Star Wars. HUGE missed opportunity there, among many others.
"I Love Cherry Lifesavers!!!!.. Oh!" ~M.Hamill, Superstar
I love this man so much.
The SW Celebration keeps reminding me of the Galaxy Quest movie.
Funny how Mark is sounding a little bit like Yoda here
Whatever they're paying this man, it's not enough.
I don't think I've ever heard him say "fuck" before
Hamill is such a humble, down to earth guy. Love him!
I'm so glad Mark is able to play Luke again. He loves this stuff.
Great actor in my book and a wonderfull human being.
OMG, When he said "I don't care" Some people in the audience threw a fit lol He didn't mean it like that FFS!!
Well he's losing his voice, they should understand and respect Mark more for trying to even speak and be at the event. Lol hard being sick. I know how he feels.
Poor Mark he clearly couldn't talk but he pushed himself for everyone there. There will be no one like him none can replace him never.
Even when he's holding a panel about himself, and already having had a whole separate panel only about her, he still slips into talking about Carrie.
He's still getting over her death, he mentioned how doing this kind of stuff is theraputic for him and a lot of the fans.
Yeah I totally understand. I think that by being a part of Star Wars from the beginning they shared a special bond in that no one else could possibly know what that experience was like, and even though they were not necessarily best friends they shared something with each other that that no one else could - and now she's gone, and it must be utterly heartbreaking for him
Yep, watching this YET AGAIN. I can't get enough of Mark Hamill's live appearances.
Oh my god I love him so much!
Love his reaction at 16:23 when the guys in the audience says "Are you the last jedi!" haha try not to give it away mark
Funny how Mark always has a beard despite claiming he hated them back when he was doing TFU. I guess he realized it's a good look for him.
evilemperordude or maube it's because of the filming of episode 9.
Probably he'll be back for Episode IX? I'm guessing that's why he's keeping the beard.
Pretty sure he meant TFU: The Force Unwakens.
Mark NEEDS A TALK SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Brick Studios 43 you can watch pop culture quest its kind of like a talk show
but i agree he needs a talk show!
Can't wait to see him in the Rogue One sequel
Matt McCallum That was a bombaroonie *crickets*
You just made me throw up in a my mouth a little... BLEHAGHAHGHAH... never mind, that was a legit barf.
Mal Reynolds thank you!
Apparently they had to put someone taller and larger in the Darth Vader suit, so he doesn't have to go into game mode to be menacing.
Matt McCallum who is he playing
41.43 when Mark Hamill mishears lightsabers for life-savers, that is just so ADORABLE! I kinda wish someone had just asked him what his favorite candy is or something.. I love Mark Hamil such a nice fella so interesting and he so cares about the fans.
Mark does the best Harrison Ford impression ever :D
The fact he lost his voice but didn't let that get in his way to talk with fans shows how professional he is. A true pro :)
He's the best!
When you think about it, Mark really is the backbone of the Star Wars universe. All the other Characters are really side Characters.
My Biggest dream is to meet Mark Hamill and to go to the USA, I live in Sweden and my friends says that I'll never meet him!
I'm 13 yrs old
Which is completely relevant...
Rasmus& Rasmus I am 37 and agree. I would just like to shake his hand and thank him. He seems like a great person to sit down and have dinner with. He also seems so humble. I hope you get to meet him.
haha i am 13 btw :)
Rasmus& Rasmus jag med.
Han är en Legend
Man, what a cool guy. He comes across as so balanced and has an innocence about him that people are beholden to.
best thing a parent can do is cover up their child when they're little and turn them into a Star Wars fan. My son has been watching star Star Wars for 10 years.
brandy baccus
Cover up?
I love that they just let Mark just sit and talk without anyone asking him questions, it just gives a nice laid back feel to the panel, and allows him to just be himself (well, HamillHimself.)
I've said it before, Mark has helped restore my faith in humanity. He is so down to Earth and actually cares about his fans so much. He is so funny, and I could listen to his stories forever
PS I agree with that woman at 2:56. He certainly looks great in a beard!
What did we do to deserve mark hamill
Salo
Grace of Apollo.
If I'm ever lucky enough to go to a SW Celebration, this is the panel I will be looking forward to the most
I have to make it to a celebration.. just to sit and enjoy his friendly fire side chats.
God bless Mark.
This man is absolutely fantastic.
WHEN VERONICA HAD A QUESTION IN THE BALCONY AT 39:39 LOOK AT HER FACE DROP OMFG MARK YOU SAVAGE
He's awesome, laryngitis and all.
lol i can hear him say "you're giving away the blue sweater hide it" at 46:47 xD
This was easily my favorite panel to watch live all celebration. It's so fun to watch mark just talk about behind the scenes stuff and other stuff about just him it's just so entertaining.
Mark is so good to his fans. Also, I always forgot how FUNNY he is. Could do stand-up, this man.
Mark Hamill is an international treasure.
One hour is not enough for Mark! He's got lots of fun stories. Even if he has a sore throat, he still did the show. Bless Mark, a true Jedi!
The awesome enthusiasm at these celebrations and my love of listening to Mark Hamill speak has actually gotten me back into Star Wars.
Every time I see Mark I just get happy. He's such a chill and fun dude.
Still love this man!!! First crush, always an amazing man! He's aged well, still as handsome as ever!
I fucking love this guy
I could listen to Mark Hamill any day of the week with his story's.
I could listen to him for hours on end. What a personality.
Mark Hamill, you are the greatest and you will always be my inspiration and hero.
thank you for having this conversation with us, I do think of you as my friend Mark, you have been my friend these many years since I first saw you in Star Wars A New Hope. I do love your sense of humour 💜
what an interesting personality , i hope i could hear him talk everyday . wish he had his youtube channel or personal talk show or something
ariyan hm Maybe, hopefully, he'll write an autobiography and he'll narrate the audiobook.
His 'Amazing Stories' piece was great.
