- On our trip to Ethiopia, we visited the new Unity Park on the premises of the Grand Palace in Addis Ababa. Our family joined us as we viewed the many beautiful sites.

7:04 yes people used to build houses using eggs. They put egg in mud to make it more stronger and to make the mud stick together. So it won't crack or fall for thousands of years.
The fact that she supported the idea that the houses weren't made out of/blended/ by eggs was dissapointing

I can’t believe that Betty simply said “Derartu Tulu is my God mother” wow 😮 Derartu is the first African female athlete to win the Gold Medal 🥇 and she is an idol for the nation. Oh how cool is it to be a daughter of Her Majesty The Great Derartu Tulu!
Just to comment on the egg house it’s named egg house because it was actually built with egg. The explanation and narration is within the leaflet which is usually given by the entrance, which I noticed you have one. Also for the question What is the special thing about black lion 🦁 you asked is also in the leaflet which kind of says the number of Black Lions 🦁 in the world 🌎 is decreasing and Ethiopia the one of the few countries where this kind of rare Black Lions live. Also FYI there also was a display/notice board which describes everything. However, you guys were busy with filming and of course excited 😊 to see all the beautiful thing.

the first car was introduced during emperor Menilik II regime, before Hailesilassie's regime, not in Hailesilassie's regime
Glad to see Belayineh Densamo with his children and Derartu !! Heros of Ethiopia ! Coming to the vlog, first it 's a very high resolution camera and it gives the best quality record of the place. In the story, to correct and add info, the yellow flowers r the representation of Adey Abeba(flower) which symbolizes Ethiopian New Year, the Black Lion, called bc of its black mane. The word 'Black Lion' was then used to name a resistance guerilla fighters of Ethiopian patriots against Italian occupation. The birds, the big bird symbolizes peace, the others are for the birds found in and around Ethiopian rift valley lakes. Empress Tayitu is not the wife of Haile Sillase (his was called Empress Menen), but she was the daughter of Emperor Minellik II who up on his death became the direct heir of the throne.

Thank you for the peek inside this great park. From what I saw in the previous videos, I noticed you have enjoyed your trip in Addis. I was able to see the various places that have now almost totally changed with many high rise buildings. Amazing...it feels like New York in the making lol. Hey Matthew, that's a good idea, but I'm afraid it is not possible... at least, not for a while. We returned back to the USA a couple weeks ago. However, I'll add it to the list of places we need to visit for our next trip to Ethiopia!

Hmm... they allowed us to bring in our phones and didn't say we were not allowed to record. It seemed like a lot of people were taking pictures and recording with their phones in the park, so maybe they changed the rules.

The MENILIK house was built partially with an egg in stead of cement. Cement was not used back then so the only way that they could stick the stones and bricks was with white part of the egg mixed with straw.
