Dude. Jake. Your sub-base has gone up so much since this! Honestly, I think this channel should be huge. The close ups (oh my, those damn beautiful close up freeze frames; its an artistic touch in a medium that often lacks stylistic expression) , you doing the face to face segments, and your up beat kind attitude. It may take a but longer, but I really do think this channel is gonna be up there with the big ones in the near future. Keep up man.
Thank you for your kind words. I think once I hit 10,000 subscribers, in the next couple months then it will begin to grow much faster because TH-cam is then more likely to promote the page and place it in front of people much more often when they open TH-cam. Once that happens then more people will watch, it's only a matter of time.
Thanks for another top notch, in depth review! Just purchased @ WMK. Finally some lefty love from Real Steel, this is my first knife from them. 14c28n is my favorite budget steel
That's a nice knife. I only have one Real Steel and it's the E571. Its a good performer, however, it has a bit of weight to it and the fact that it'as an all steel handle construction, it can, in combination with the weight, be a bit slippery in hand. I think I might get the Terra in G-10 for the added grippiness. The bronze washers are intriguing with the cut-outs on them. I suppose that will help keep the lubrication in place. Good vid, thanks.
Yay, I suggested you reviewed the Terra only a couple of days ago, and here we are! I love this knife so much that I've bought all three G10 versions. There are two main reasons for this, over and above the excellent design and build quality of the knife. First off, it is very friendly to left-handers - so much so that you can swap the hardware around to make the right-hand side of the handle the presentation side. Knife manufacturers, are you paying attention? And secondly, unlike American brands such as Spyderco, Benchmade or Ontario, Real Steel knives are not painfully overpriced here in the UK. I got all three of my Terras for well under £50 each, which is pretty much in line with the $60 US price tag.
Great video. I love the knife! I get that it is a budget knife but for the materials even though I like them the time it gets to my house in Canada that would cost me 90 bucks. So to me its not so budget. I think its worth every penny but Im not sure maybe its the high end of budget. Like the Ontario rat1 is budget to me. Actually with canadian tire and maybe the old prices i have stuck in my head 30 to 50 even 60 in my hand is budget depending on what you get i guess. Say it were 3cr13mov and bad everything at 50 bucks thats not so budget at least not a good deal. To me that is expensive for those materials. This being said i will probably buy this knife lol. All that being said I enjoy nice knives wether they are budget expensive a good deal can still be at higher dollar value.
The line for what is budget and what is beyond budget is an impossible line to define because it changes from person to person. 3 years ago I did a survey on what is the amount of money that is considered budget and I got almost as many different answers as there were people who responded and filled in the survey. So what I ended up doing is defining at the start of each year what number I would use as my definition of budget for that year. in 2020 I said that it was $60USD and I did not factor in the cost of shipping or taxes and duty, as that would make it even more complicated. For 2021 I didn't decide on a specific dollar figure that I would call budget, I just announced that it would be quite uncommon for me to review a knife that sells for over $100USD and that my priority is to find knives that are under $50USD, but I wont' limit myself to under $50USD. I use American dollars on this Canadian channel because Canadians make up less than 10% of my viewers. And most people around the world (I assume) have a better idea of what the American dollar is worth in their home currency better than they know how much the Canadian dollar is worth in their home currency.
Yes i forgot that you set a budget number. Some of the knife companies every year try to push up the cost of their budget lines like spyderco. As well as my budget from year to year can change. I also like all your reviews budget or not as well as i buy the knives. Just the more expensive ones slow me from buying as often. Which is a problem when yiu have knife greed and then find that next knifw that wont be around any longer and you feel that you just have to have it lol. Which always will happen. Id have tp be rich or less greedy for knives and i dont think either will ever happen lol.
If I didn't have this channel it is very unlikely that I would be able to buy the majority of these knives, my budget wouldn't allow it. So I know where you are coming from. Even with CCE I can't afford to keep most of what I review. I'm very lucky that I found a way to get my hands on all sorts of knives, even if I can only keep individual knives for a few months.
Great to see another budget-friendly knife done right. Thanks for reviewing, Jake!

Thanks for the comment. I am quite a fan of 14C28N too.
congrats on 8k!
Clean looking knife; great review: thanks Jake!
RealSteel continually putting out quality product. Lefty love finally by a manufacturer. I think a thumbstud version would do well. Thanks for sharing.

Hm, I'd like to see it next to a Spyderco Tenacious.
Congrats 👍
That’s a really good looking knife, so many good knives for 50 bucks these days. I have become a big fan of 14C28N.

I could only get hold of the carbon version in the Uk. Do you know if you can buy the g10 handles separately?
@@Whachadoon Sorry, I've never seen Real Steel handle scales available separately. I still love the Terra in general, though.
One small correction - the frame screws take a 4mm hex key, not 3mm.
For under $60, the Terra is a beast. I love mine and it stands up to more expensive knives.
Can you buy the handles separately?
I don't think so.
👍
thanks

I don't have one but it's impressive. I'd call it a poor man's PM2.
I would like to see it become as popular as the PM2
Beefy sucker
Jake, or the knife?
