    I live in Trinidad and have been in love with this legend since seeing "The Unknown" in 2006.

    As a lifelong Colorado Springs resident I must really thank you for telling me a lot I didn't know About a brilliant man I have always admired my whole life.

    Thank you so much for creating this content!! As I fall deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole that is Lon Chaney, every bit counts. Im such a devote fan to this man, family, and legacy, and not being near Colorado currently this ties up a lot of loose ends, and is so satisfying to see on screen! Thanks again!

    It’s cool to walk where Mr. Chaney spent his childhood and grew up.

    This was really beautiful because it was such a moment in time. It was during the pandemic, and it was the week you lost your grandfather. So thanks for taking us along with you, it was a special time beyond the interesting stuff about Lon Chaney.

    I live an hour South of Springs. I’ve been to his boyhood home, but I can’t wait to use your tour guide to see everything else. Chaney was to me a master of his craft. Thank you for this!

    I live next door to that house on Bijou and the owner, Ed is super nice. He actually lived at the end of the street and is working on the house. They had a house fire and had to move back into 509 W Bijou. He’s a great guy and would definitely let you inside to record!

    8:57 That was a "I'm outta the house! What sweet freedom!" cartwheel if I ever saw one.
    Seriously, great work on Chaney, AC.

    Antonia Carlotta... You did a great job! I also live in Colorado Springs and have visited several of the Lon Chaney sites. There was also the Strumbel’s Barber Shop at 12 S. Tejon where Frank Chaney worked for many years.

    Lon Chaney Sr was the best too. And his silent films.

    So glad that Colorado Springs recognizes Lon Chaneys role in the cities history. Lon Chaney Jr. Was born in Oklahoma City and most people here don't even know that. I wish some people would get on board with me at least making a memorial of some kind.

    Wow, cool, that is my house in your video! Good job and cool tour. I have just a slightly different timeline for the house, but it still is really great.

      Yes! For one, not gonna lie, it was just so nice to get out of the house. But the city was so beautiful, and it was so cool seeing all these places I knew Lon Chaney lived and worked. I'm inspired to make more of these videos!

    Antonia - the last address you were looking for (536 E Boulder) actually was 521 E Boulder (which is now Palmer High School property) .. hope this helps (Thanks for visiting our beautiful town!)

    • @AntoniaCarlotta
      @AntoniaCarlotta  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aahh so it was across the street! Thank you for letting me know! I think I remember seeing the school (or at least a field for sports) over there. I guess that means the house isn't there anymore?

    • @mosaicfrog
      @mosaicfrog 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AntoniaCarlotta You are more than welcome - looked at the old maps and other info - it is a tad confusing and hard to sift through, the history definitely is fun to scour through! (Yup, no more house, sadly a high school took over that property, and many others) -- again thank you for your insight! :)

    I was so excited by your video, Lon Chaney is (along with Veidt) my favorite silent film actor, and being able to see the sites that have been relevant to him throughout his life while living in Colorado was beautiful! As I would have loved to be there too, I'm sure I would have cried with emotion.
    Thank you very much for sharing it and I sincerely hope one day to be able to live that beautiful experience that you had

    Thanks so much for doing this! My son and his wife moved to Colorado 2 years ago, and I’ve had it in mind to have them take me to Colorado Springs to see what Chaney sites still exist! Your video makes me want to go all the more! Hopefully, COVID will diminish, and I’ll have the chance to make that trip. By the way, I live in Rochester, NY where actress Louise Brooks spent the last years of her life. She’s also buried here.
