How Wondrous indeed! Grateful to God for sending Baha'u'llah to humanity and for having such talented friends like you Luke and your friends who have contributed to create such a beautiful video! With loving Baha'i greetings from Mongolia
Every time I listen to Like's music I think to myself that it is not possible to top that work and yet I have to discover this finest work of art that so poetically combines the mystic worlds with even more souls stirring music, how wondrous a talent. Thank you for sharing it with us, luke.
@lukeslott you have an amazing voice and this is amazing composition, could you share your email I’d with me, I am Bahá’í from mumbai, India. My email I’d is Udatwani17@gsb.columbia.edu thank you.
“How wondrous a pearl!” Astounding performance! Such beauty and depth, great location. I joined you in spirit on the beach 🏝 keep making music. Keep dancing! Your art touches the heart ♥️
While engulfed in tribulations I heard a most wondrous, a most sweet voice, calling above My head. Turning My face, I beheld a Maiden-the embodiment of the remembrance of the name of My Lord-suspended in the air before Me. So rejoiced was she in her very soul that her countenance shone with the ornament of the good pleasure of God, and her cheeks glowed with the brightness of the All-Merciful. Betwixt earth and heaven she was raising a call which captivated the hearts and minds of men. She was imparting to both My inward and outer being tidings which rejoiced My soul, and the souls of God’s honoured servants.
Thank you Luke and ????? , so wonderful to watch and listen to you both while reading this Tablet of the Wondrous Maiden for Ridvan as the sun sets on the 12th day of Ridvan from the book of the Days of Remembrance commemorating the Holy Days. Truly inspiring uplifting our hearts and spirits.
You have pulled off a real miracle here. It is hard to imagine anything more inspiring than this. Everyone involved from Luke Slott, the dancer, musicians, the writers of the instrumental background, those who filmed and cut this video deserve the highest praise. It is truly inspiring to see the Baha'i Faith advancing at this level.
This is truly a wonderful work, Luke Slott, thank you! I feel that you have captured the mystical and spiritual nature of this Tablet of Baha'u'llah, although I have not found the original Tablet approved translation. You have captured the Revelation by the Wondrous Maiden ! I listen to it over and over, and it evokes a wonderful spiritual place !
Had the pleasure of hearing you sing this beautiful prayer yesterday. All who heard it were moved and a tremendous spirit flowed in that gathering. Thank you!
Thank you ever so much for this wondrous masterpiece! This is so very timely. I am completely enamored; and have been listening to it for hours yet it still makes me cry...
I followed along reading the Tablet (Ḥúr-i-‘Ujáb, Tablet of the Wondrous Maiden, #12 under the Ridvan section of the Days of Remembrance, www.bahai.org/library/authoritative-texts/bahaullah/days-remembrance/4#415543434). You have proven it is possible to intone His Tablets in such beautiful melodies in English, too. It has moved me more than just silent reading for sure and I'm sure I will be revisiting this Tablet and your music countless times. I will be recommending others to listen and watch the video and read the Tablet together.
Luke, this is so beautiful! Until now A Hundred Thousand Veils was my absolute favourite but The Tablet of the Wondrous Maiden has totally captivated me: the voice, the melody, the words and the backing. Thank you!!
This is so lovely. i have never heard it before, and am excited to study it. But please, please, have someone edit the closed captioning. It is far below the quality of the video. Bless you for sharing right now.
Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much. It would be wonderful to have the actual tablet included below the video because when caption is turned on, many words come out wrong.
Absolutely brilliant and inspired. Superlatives fail me. We are loving your interpretation of this beautiful mystic tablet. Sending love and continued blessings to you and yours from the friends in San Clemente, CA😎❤️
Ḥúr-i-‘Ujáb (Tablet of the Wondrous Maiden) 1The hallowed Beauty shone resplendent from behind the veil. How wondrous a thing, how wondrous indeed! 2And, lo, the flame of rapture caused all souls to swoon away. How wondrous is this, how wondrous indeed! 3Rising up, they soared unto the blest pavilion ’neath the throne of heaven’s canopy. How wondrous a mystery, how wondrous indeed! 4Say: The Maiden of Eternity unveiled Her face-may her wondrous beauty be exalted indeed!- 5Shedding forth from earth to heaven its resplendent rays. How wondrous a light, how wondrous indeed! 6A lightning glance She cast, as piercing as a shooting star-how wondrous Her glance, how wondrous indeed!- 7A glance consuming every name and every title in its flames. How wondrous a feat, how wondrous indeed! 8To the dwellers of the realm of dust She turned Her gaze. How wondrous Her gaze, how wondrous indeed! 9And then did all creation shake and pass away. How astounding a death, how astounding indeed! 10She then let fall a raven lock, an ornament of spirit in the darkest night-how wondrous a hue, how wondrous indeed!- 11From which the fragrant breezes of the spirit were perceived. How wondrous a scent, how wondrous indeed! 12In Her right hand She bore the ruby wine and in Her left a portion of the finest fare. How wondrous a grace, how wondrous indeed! 13With hands encrimsoned with Her ardent lovers’ blood-how wondrous is this, how wondrous indeed!- 14In cups and chalices She passed round the wine of life. How wondrous a draught, how wondrous indeed! 15With harp and lute She sang in praise of Her Beloved. How wondrous a song, how wondrous indeed! 16Whereat the hearts were melted in consuming flames. How wondrous a love, how wondrous indeed! 17Of Her sustaining beauty She bestowed a boundless share-how wondrous a share, how wondrous indeed!- 18Then brought Her sword of charm upon Her lovers’ necks. How wondrous a blow, how wondrous indeed! 19Her pearl-like teeth did flash, no sooner had She smiled. How wondrous a pearl, how wondrous indeed! 20Whereat the hearts of them that know cried out and wept. How wondrous a piety, how wondrous indeed! 21But they that doubt and boast of self denied Her truth. How astounding a denial, how astounding indeed! 22And, hearing this, in sorrow, She repaired to Her abode. How astounding Her grief, how astounding indeed! 23She returned from whence She came: How lofty were the steps She traced! How astounding a decree, how astounding indeed! 24She cried a cry of anguish, as to reduce all things to naught. How astounding Her woe, how astounding indeed! 25And from Her lips there streamed these words of warning and rebuke-how astounding a stream, how astounding indeed!- 26“Why do ye gainsay Me, O people of the Book?” How astounding is this, how astounding indeed! 27“Claim ye to be the guided and the loved ones of the Lord?” By God! How astounding a lie, how astounding indeed! 28“O my friends,” She said, “We shall not come again,”-how wondrous a return, how wondrous indeed!- 29“But will conceal God’s secrets in His Scriptures and His Books,” as bidden by One mighty and bounteous indeed! 30“Nor shall ye find Me till the Promised One appear on Judgement Day.” By My life! How astounding an abasement, how astounding indeed!
Mr.Luke, with all due respect and admiration, I humbly suggest that you seek out a new set of artists, or at least get a new mix, this is much too (imposing) I think that the sound tracks accompanying your smooth and appealing voice is very overwhelming and I cannot adjust for this, neither electronic nor ear.Remix and rejoice!
Thank you Ken - I always appreciate my listeners' feedback and value it greatly so I will certainly take note of your suggestions. I love the artists I've worked with and I will certainly consult with them about your suggestions for future projects. On a related note, someday I would love to do an album of 'stripped down' versions of existing songs with just voice & acoustic guitar as I think that may be an enjoyable listening experience. I hope to do it someday soon. Thanks again for the notes Ken, much appreciated 🙏 Happy Ridvan! 🌹
@@lukeslott I'm pleased with your response and I look forward to your unplugged presentations ,I hope to hear many more songs 🎵. When I was in recording I was selected to mix the final cut,and I know that is crucial to a successful outcome, however one must have a reference of what the music will sound like on playback...in my day it was radio and the way we compensated for the format was compression. The whole track was limited both top and bottom, this made for a unified signal that was a little bit more homogenous. If you work live, then choice and placement of microphones is crucial. Happy Ridvan 😊 and know that the Almighty always will help you to make known his name!
I can’t listen enough of this song. So inspiring. We’ll done Luke.
Glad you are enjoying it Fataneh! I was lucky to work with a fantastic team on this.
