The reason for most of the Tigers being man eater is mainly due to the geographical and topographical reasons.
No grasslands for deers and boards to survive unlike Jim Corbett, Ranthambore, Tadoba or for that matter most of the other Tiger reserves.
The rivers criss crossing the Sunderbans are salty and don't suit proper habitations The riers are full of crocodiles too.
Thirdly the place is also infested with venomous snakes mostly cobras which also don't allow the prey of Tigers to grow in numbers.
Hence the scarcity of food for the Tiger hence human beings become the main menu of the Tigers.
