Falke news !!! Sugar cane is not produced in the region of the Amazon rainforest.
Brazil preserves more than 80% of the Amazon rainforest.
Brazil preserves a lot, with 66% of the territory formed by forests.
Most of the Brazilian soy is not planted in the Amazon, it occupies the biomes of the Cerrado, Atlantic Forest, Araucaria and Pampa.

This reminds me of English hedgerows. They have machines which cut and shape them. Hedgerows provide a lot of natural benefits.

Hi Renan, I'm also Brazilian and it is true that sugarcane is hardly ever planted in the Amazon. There are soybean plantations but it is not so common as people think. However, the deforestation of Amazon forest is increasing a lot in the last decades and the government has not been able to stop it. Deforestation happens to 1- raise cattle (cattle ranching), 2- to sell the wood to the market of the trees that have been cut down and, 3- to sell the land that were invaded. The cattle ranching boss pay to the Grilheiros to invade a forest (public land or a Native land), so they deforest it, sell the wood to the market and then fills it with cattle in order to show the government and the authorities that the land is being productive and is generating jobs. After that, he begins the process of subdivision of this land in order to sell it (or continue with cattle ranching business). So, the cattle ranching and sell of illegal tree and properties are the main crimes committed there.

@@nlptrader8320 Correct! The loss of the Amazon is increasing every year, and there is a large community of people who are not understanding the cost of losing its immense biodiversity, and all the ecological functions its fosters.
