Bill it was a very busy fall and that day for sure was busy, I think I got there about 7am and didnt leave till after 6pm and it was non stop all day trying to get everything done before the rain set in. This might have been the end of farming for the year but it was just the start of a new project on the farm that I'm still cleaning up from ! Next video or 2 you'll get to see the start of it and boy was it worth it ! Bandit
I have everything paid for and plan to keep it that way for a long time to come. I farm the old school way with out all the fancy stuff cause when it brakes down it gets really expensive to fix and I wont be paying $350 an hour for a dealer flunky to come out and hook a computer up to tell him whats wrong with it. Nope if it brakes down I'll fix my old stuff myself and save all that money ! LOL A penny saved is a penny saved by me for my own pocket not the dealers ! Bandit

Merry Christmas bandit ! Was nice talking to ya last night. We spent most of Christmas Day watching your old videos, the kids said there’s bandit up to his old shenanigans again ! Ha . Aunt Pam and uncle Casey’s first time . They really enjoyed your cooking show ! Uncle Darrell, Brady and Ben really liked watching the equipment tour shows . Hopefully it ends up in the right town this time 🤦 one thing we know if it doesn’t old bandit will find a way to get it home ! Take care Don , have a great Christmas and holidays . Thank You for watching my video's, I try to make them so others can learn from them and not to make the mistakes I made and it might make there job a little easer seeing how something is done. On these combines there really isn't anything easy to work on ! LOL When dad bought his we only used it 2 years and he sold it to a guy (who never came back after it !) so we never really worked on it. When I bought mine and broke the one drive belt I decided to change them all as they needed it and on these combines there are so many of them it was a lot easer to change them all but there was nothing easy about it. I think it took about 2 weeks to go threw them all and there are a lot of them that if you broke one you might end up taking 5 others off to change it. My old 95 I know for a fact you could change all the belts in a days time and be running again. I hope my video's help anyone working on one of these to make the job a little easer. There good combine and do a good job but there not as easy to work on as the old 95 is thats for sure. I'm just lucky as both the 4400's are first year machines so the parts will interchange pretty easy, But there are differences between the 2 that are noticeable between them. I just hope yours isnt a gas like mine is and you dont have to take the starter off, It's a stand on your head affair ! LOL JD could have made this so much easer by using the new style starter on them instead of the old 3 bolt style you cant put a socket on ! I glad you enjoyed watching my video's and I hope to put out more showing how to farm on the small side and make a little money doing it. Bandit
Very successful day indeed ! All I know is was sure a long one and I was glad when it was over ! LOL But as you see it turned cold wet and nasty after this day but I was really glad I was done for the year ! But this also was the start of a new project on the farm that got done over the next couple of months and took till the spring to clean up from ! Bandit
Man I'm telling you when they say rain on Friday for like 5 days strait it really lights a fire under you ! I started cutting on Tuesday and ran into the ruts and did a number on the cycle bar and spent Wednesday morning replacing 8 feet of cycle sections and I had already talked to me cousin about when he got done (he was a mile from me cutting his last beans) to come over to help me finish cutting mine with me. To get done and have a day to load out the beans and get the disking done and everything cleaned off and put up I got really lucky ! I was still trying to find wheat seed but after that Saturday I knew that ship had sailed and it wasnt going to happen, But I did try. Bandit
I looked a long time before I found that White 263 disk and on the old 1850 it does a great job for me. If a disk is not adjustable I really dont want it but this one is easy to adjust and I really like it and its the perfect size for the 1850. Bandit
@@scottharvold6286 A non adjustable disk to me is useless simply because not all ground is the same and you need to be able to change it as the ground changes field to field. Sometimes you might need to set it like your going to plow it when you might need to set it light just to turn it a little. I have one disk (MF) that is not adjustable at all and its good for a 1st or 2nd pass but it aint worth a hoot to finish with, Thats whare the old MM disk really shines cause the disk does such a good job. My MM White Bush Hog and IH disks are all adjustable but the MF disk isnt so it dont get used that much. Its nice to be able to make a change if you need to and that what makes these kind of disks worth more. Bandit
Wow, I didn't realize the difference in size between the 4400 and the 8820 was so drastic. That 8820 is a beast! But really, for smaller farmers like you and me, the 4400 is fine. I think mine is just the right size for my operation. Wish they still made combines that size, but manufacturers don't think about us small guys anymore.
When I pulled in that morning and saw them setting there it was like WOW ! I got to show this to you guys, There is really a big difference in size between them. For me the 4400 is just fine and lets face it I might not be a big fan of these combines but when one pops up with 1200 hours and one owner for sale for $1000 I would have been a fool not to have bought it cause when would you ever get the chance to buy another at that price. You always hear about this kind of thing long after it was sold and its always ah crap I would have bought that for that price ! The equipment manufactures really dont consider you a real farmer unless you need something with an 8 row corn head ! Well all that does is drive up the price on good older and smaller equipment like we use, And thats cool with me cause that means its worth a lot more than I give for it ! In 10 years can you even think of how big a new combine will be ? What ever it is I'll still be using my old 4400 or 95 and smiling the hole time ! Bandit
@@banditfarmer1900 Yep - You got that right. The big guys can do what they want, and so will I. Pretty soon, a guy would have to make a shed door 30 x 30 to get the combine in without the head. 🤣🤣🤣

Taken Nov 10th 2022.My day started out early getting everything ready to load soybeans we cut yesterday on my cousins semi truck. Quarter after 8 I had everything ready to roll and got on the 1850 and started disking in the ruts left by the spray guy so I dont have to deal with them next spring or holding water to make a mess for me. With the disking done and the truck loaded its time to put everything away and cleaned up. I got the head off theJD 4400 and spent a couple hours blowing it off and cleaning it up so it can go back into the barn for the winter. As the wore on I got everything put up and was helping my uncle Bill load up fire wood and logs from the tree out front Craig took out. By the end of the day I can truely say I was tired ! LOL But the last few days have been in the upper 70's low 80's and there calling for rain tonight and tomorrow and a chance of snow showers Saturday so I was really glad I got everything done today ! I still was trying to find some wheat seed to plant some but after the next 2 day that idea went out the window real quick ! We got a little over 1 1/2" of rain Friday witch was only in the 50's and Saturday I woke up to 38* and snow witch we ended up with about 2 inches and it stayed wet the rest of the year ! I'm really glad I got these all cut and loaded out and everything put away when I did. I hope you enjoyed watching me as I worked threw the long day as a one man show. After this was the start of a new project on the farm. More on that later. Bandit
Well to tell the truth I havent touched it yet but I'm about to, I'm trying to catch up as best I can but the truck needs to comes out of the shop so I can clean the shop out ! LOL Bandit

But harvest is over and things have finally slowed down to ware I can think about how I'm going to cram all of the footage into video's to make sense of the year so be on the look out for video's to start coming out again. Bandit
I just read this comment. I glad you are well. Thought the worst.
@@rce8540 It has truly been one of those years for me, In fact this has been the first time sense last early spring I've had 3 or 4 days ware I could kick back and relax and not worry about anything for a change and it feels great ! Oh well I got plenty of stuff to work on before long when I get back at it. I've had a couple interesting comments on the turkey video, Some people just dont get it ! LOL I hope you all are doing good and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Say hi to everyone for me and I send my best to you guys. Bandit
You still farming haven’t seen u on TH-cam lately
I'm still farming and filming about everyday but I've been really busy and cant get time to make and load the video's on youtube right now. 2 years of dealing with kidney stones then the hernia and dealing with a Covid like illness that slowed me down, Finally I got to feeling better and I've got 3 years of stuff to catch up on and I've gotten a lot done. The last couple of days its been raining off and on and have taken it easy for a change witch I really havent done all year ! But when I get to start posting again (soon I hope) and you guys see what I've been up to all year you'll get to see how busy I've been and will agree it was worth it . Lots of big projects got done this year and they required a lot of work to get them done. Be on the look out for video's to come out soon. Bandit
Bandit just checking on you buddy wanted make sure everything is okay with you and your mom and dad just been worried about ya... Don bud!! And as soon as I get me a truck and trailer man man you might have to do some trading or something for something you have I really took a interest in those Dodge trucks that you got I'm trying to get me some stuff that I can buy and sell and probably some of it that you would want I'm trying to work my way up to get me couple farm tractors to buy and sell and maybe we could trade on the Dodge semis when I get some farm tractors or something...
Hey bandit how you been
Busy ! LOL I'm still waiting on the cable company to get the internet fixed so I can load video's again. Cant do much when it glitches out every 5 to 10 minuets, I really miss posting ! I got really busy last year and I had to let posting video's to keep up with what I was doing. In December I switched cable companies because of cost and of course had trouble right off the bat and couldnt post anything because of it but the last 2 weeks they have been out everyday around here fixing the lines and it seams to be working better now so I hope to start posting again very soon. There is a lot of video's to make and post for you guys I just got to figure out how to put them together. Bandit

Ol bandit needs a nice secretary or something to help get these videos out . Big job with all the other stuff going on I’m sure. Hope all is well Don .
Your right Tyler. Ever heard the song. Not as young as I once was.
Bandit

Richard will probably be there
Well on Monday I'm headed to Archbold Ohio to get some stuff I bought at there sale. I'll pass close by headed up 75 and I think its going to be a long day of driving getting there and back. Bandit
4400 had a son 8820 lol
Seeing them side by side like this really shows how big the 8820 is compared to the 4400 ! My cousin said after we got done he was impressed with the 4400 cause I was keeping right up with him round after round. All I know is I was really glad he came over to help me because the weather went wet and cold after this ! Bandit
