Love the Motorola Quik-Call (1) Tone at 0:26 (It sounds like EZPZ/KZHZ) , I've been studying up on those tones as my county used them for siren activation, but sadly my station got rid of them in 2018, and only 3 stations in my county still use Quik-Call Tones
You're correct in that tone! Nice ears. I think Canarrus might still use them, not 100% sure. I haven't been down there in so, so long. I k own when I was moving out back in I think... 2016? Ish? Rowan County was moving away from QC1 and over to DTMF.
Most electromechanical (elektromechanische in German) warning sirens across America use a two tone or doomsday tone activation system while electronic sirens and blower assisted sirens use a Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) activation system. However, there are a few sirens that use an activation sequence that sounds like a fax machine. The DTMF tones sound like a telephone dialing.
FS model 5/7 it’s hard to tell between the two because they look alike Edit: Model 7A, the bottom skirt is bigger than the top and the windup is faster than a 7B.
The Nordic Stag I remember way back when in the 80’s lol it was the same. Then not as far back I was in an all Rescue Squad in the 90’s both of these in N.C.
almost makes me think of our fire department when we had our older NEC Mark III M pagers (They were only 1 channel, along with 1 Motorola Minitor 1, & a Shinwa Monopage pager).
I love the sound of the Volunteer Fire department going off for the FarmVille,Va Volunteer fire department siren going off on the roof of the FarmVille,va Police Station.

Quick question? So I am a VFX artist and I make analog horror animations. I was wondering if I could use the tones played at the beginning, add reverb and other effects to it, and use it for an analog horror animation Im currently working on? I would give credit to you for the origin of this sound. Because I watched this video years ago when I was younger and those tones traumatized me lol. And I thought it would make a perfect horror ambiance with added effects to it. But I wanted to get your permission first before I do anything?
Super Signal On Saturday morning around “10am” if I remember right the County would tone out each and every department setting off there pagers, and the and the base siren atop the roof or phone pole.
i know lol...well lesson learned with that..by the way my f.d. has a model 5 just like this one, an sth-10, and a newer sentry siren in its system..and the town storm siren system consists of new t-128s which replaced aca cyclone sirens
My fire department used to have two Model 5 sirens in service but were shut off due to residents living near them. The only one that my department uses now is the FS STH-10 siren located behind the fire hall.
While yes on NC, no on the actual area of Mt Mitchell. Why they cal this Mount Mitchell, I have no idea, but this is just over the Cabarrus county line from Rowan County, on Old Concord Rd, at the intersection of Old Concord Rd and Lane St.
The Nordic Stag I believe they issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Cabarrus last week. It produced Hail up to Half Dollar Size. I have 20 half dollar coins so I already know that it's pretty large.
Oh yeah, they did. I think Concord and areas around there got some hail, though I am not sure it was that big. Usually Iredell, and Davie get the brunt of the storms I've noticed.
@@Firebuff101 yeah that's fair. I'm honestly not sure why they use the bold QC1 2+2 tone anymore though. Activates off the oage tone si. Sole depts in thr County work off if QC2 only, and kannapolis went to a short QC2

@@THEFINALHAZARD looks way better on the inside new siren our brush truck got the front end took off other than being remodeled not much changed

the windup on a model 7 is faster compared to model 5
Don't 7's have a wider bottom cone as well?
That is the most longest siren activation tone I've ever heard of my fire department goes quick with their siren tone
+Austin Roe WEll this was a county-wide test, so they were testing each station. The E/G Pager and EZ+PZ/GZ+KZ QC1 tones were for Mt Mitchell.
+The Nordic Stag ah ok I wasn't sure how you're fire department worked when a call comes in
+The Nordic Stag that's a long gap between the Siren tones and the siren going off
That's due to the different tones were for different stations, this was the weekly county-wide test. Mt Mitchell's was the EZ/GZ tone.
The Nordic Stag I remember way back when in the 80’s lol it was the same. Then not as far back I was in an all Rescue Squad in the 90’s both of these in N.C.
Among the tones are some very old 2+2 tones. The last set of tones is for Mount Mitchell’s Model 5.

Fecgeg
Farmville doesn't have a fire siren. The only closest one here is Pamplin City. You'll definitely hear their fire truck siren.
How long are your tones. Holy shit lol
well there probably testing the entire county so they test every station so yea its long

They have the same siren sound in Clarksville NY
SO AS OYSTER BAY NY
They used to have two working in Dansville, NY, but the only one that works now is the STH-10 behind the fire hall.
I bet the neighbours really look forward to Saturdays. Do they not have pagers in the USA.
Roland Scarce Neighbors Not Correct Spelling

No we have pagers. The sirens are left over from the era in which pagers didn’t exist. Most rural stations still use them.

they stopped using sirens in the UK to alert their stations since 1974 .

It does!!
43 seconds of DTMF codes?!
Please read the annotation at the top of the video, also this is Motorola Quik-Call II, not DTMF.
It’s two tone for most pagers
