Liberty gives happiness for city connections; you need lots of workers to connect and improve tiles. Have a Circus or Luxury in each city, Get your unique lux's traded early before other players know your a liberty spam. Maybe you get lucky with a city state aswell but I dont think Yoruus had a city state. You will go unhappy you just have to learn how to keep it below 10 unhappiness as if you go above 9 the penalties are massive.
Hey. Why are you making more than 4 cities in tradition(especially with so few unique luxuries )? I can see the following reasons: a) there are not many good tiles around to have strong enpugh tradition cities to win the game. b) you have to expand more because the possible leader of the game had really good liberty start. c) correlates with "b", in case you get attacked you need more cities to be able to produce a decent amount of military units. d) there is no certain reason, you are just having fun here not a real empire. e) the answer is in the video and I am just not listening good enough.
