Been huge fan of Armin/ASOT for long time. Past 5-6 yrs, I seen Armin change his style of musics to blah blah blah and those “Indian tribe” beats, am not fan of it. I don’t even watch his weekly ASOT shows live studio on Facebook Live , nor buy his current/past Albums. Armin in early 2000s was very good! Nowadays, I listen to Markus Schulz more n more than Armin . Love his weekly GDJB radio shows/Albums. Markus never changes his style on his albums from Without You Near to current We Are The Light. As for progressive trance, I really Iove the tunes he choose/plays for monthly World Tour sets. Sorry Armin 👎👎. It’s time for Markus to be King of Trance!!!!! ❤️

I respect your opinion but tbh neither Armin or Markus are Kings of Trance and Im a very very big Armin fan. Tbh there are a lot of very good Trance DJs and producers out there that are much better than these two. You just can listen to the whole WOA 138 stage in Utrecht and all those sets are mindblowing. Giuseppe Ottaviani, Will Atkinson, Allen Watts, Sneijder, Davey Asprey,...
Nevertheless, I wouldnt compare or try to select who is the best. The bet is to enjoy the music of every Trance artist who this year eill dominate the EDM scene.
With respect of your view.... Armin van Buuren has most probably lifted the trace music industry with at 40%. Remember that it's more than just mixing music. Armin has his finger on the pulse of the trace industry. He is helping other DJ's and producers to make in the industry. I don't know of a better honest, down to earth person after making it so big its redicoiles... So mam.. In essence think what this man has done for us... Give him the credit needed. Tell you what.. where would Markus play his set that you committed on??? Armin van Buuren is State of Trance, Markus was invited to play.. Armin your the king!!! Thanks for all you have done!!! You are definitely still changing my life in great way... Don't STOP!!!
Rian vd Westhuizen Thats totally true. Probably 80% that like Trance where introduce to it because of Armin. As you said he is the reason why it is so big nowadays.
Markus Schulz makes music trouse, the only one I see who does pure trance is the great Mr. Paul Van Dyk, although he brings out the genre trouse a little. In the end I admire AVB, PVD and A & B among many others. This gender is changing.

I started to love trance a few years ago, yes maybe i didnt listen to the "real trance" in the early 2000s but im now just 20 years old. I have to say first i loved just armin but now i realised that armin is going just mainstream and uplifiting and so, its not really the trance i love. Right now i really love djs like markus, paul van dyk and giuseppe ottaviani of course, those made the reall trance music and are giving me the real energy i am looking for, sorry to say that but armin is not the king of trance for me, markus schulz is much better. I was at ASOT in utrech last year also this year, and at transmisson in prag last year where pvd and schulz were playing for me armin is just not on the same level and he can not keep up
i agree with you, i also loved armin but now i fell like he is just focused at the mainstage not on trance, well he just wants more fans and of course the mainstage, the bigroom and so has a lot of fans and much more than trance music but still armin was a tracne music dj and producer, you right, pvd giuseppe and markus never left trance they just doing what they love and give us the energy we live for, i really hate when people listen to blah blah and say they love armin and trance music

I had to double check when you wrote this comment. I would have dated it circa 2008-1012. Schulz has gone too mainstream and off the Trance track, too. This set seems to be an exception though.

How they mix without headphones?
Alexandr Hamhadera knowing the tracks in your usb helps a ton. If you know how your set is supposed to be, headphones come in when you need to hear important transitions or where to properly cue tracks. Also he is using headphones in this set. :)

@@STORYTXLLXR experience of many years anyone can mix without headphones and to feel the amount of bass and looking at the soundwave on the mixer gives you a pretty good idea of the bass or at what point the next song can be mixed... only DJS would get this though
No offense to any djs.. but my concern is not mixing without headphones.. but the constant urge to touch the knobs and pretend to press buttons and look busy while they are only playing 10 songs in an hour😁 if you look this busy you should be playing atleast 30+ different tracks
Nisarg Thakkar I fully agree. Don’t touch knobs unless you’re actually doing something. Observing Markus DJing, he really loves adding effects, especially reverb and echo. Hence it looks like he’s doing a lot. These are things I heavily pay attention to.
Fake DJ’s tend to show their ugly habits anyways haha

I have to say this wasn’t classic mind numbing trance. At times the old MS came to the surface though but they were few and far between. Nice light show!
I'm afraid the old cold harbour sound is gone, same with Vandit, PVD doesn't sound like PVD anymore.

Markus's music used to be so melodic, provocative, deep, soulful and tuneful, now he just churns out the same shit with the same shitty 'trance horn' instruments, none of his pieces are at all distinct or show a natural presence to make them stand out amongst the other tracks he makes.
It's depressing. I stopped listening to his music several years ago. Unless he turns a corner and starts to make his signature cool, sexy, deep, thought-provoking, ethereal and memorable music again, I won't be buying his works. It's a shame because I have 3 CDs of his very best work: Miami '05. Coldharbour Sessions 2004 and Ibiza '06. The rest has been mediocre, at best.
