The band name REO stands for thier names... R for brothers first names Reno(drummer), Ralph (base), Raymart (r. guitar), RonJoseph or RJ (lead) and Roymark (keyboard), E is for Evasco brothers maiden name while O is for Otic, the brothers last names. They are from Tacloban City, Philippines..
Ron Joseph (RJ) is the lead guitar and singer in this video... short story, he is the one who put up the group, Rj taught Ralph(bass) the drums and guitar, later on Ralph taught Reno how to play the drums. Then Ralph taught himself how to play the bass guitar. Rj also taught Raymart (rhythm) how to play the guitar. Knowing that they have no formal school in their instruments and playing like what you said "perfect cover songs" shows how brilliant this brothers in their craft. that guitar trill at the end 8:32 was the way Mark Knopfler wished he had done it in the studio version that had a quick pause, but later did it live which is continuous. Great job RJ and band!!!!!

Good honest reactions from two music pros..covers are to do justice to the sound of the original.. no one will ever replace the first..otherwise, REO bros did a wonderful job.
I love reaction channels. Mostly I gravitate to the younger (what this 80s gal calls “The Hip-Hop Crowd”) as I love when they discover our classics without all that auto tune and are shocked they are playing all their own instruments… often live too!! What made me subscribe to your channel just now is how you get into the vocal and musical nuances. I’m a gal who somehow remembers lyrics and like you, really gets into vocal nuances as well as the little things instrumentally. I discovered REO Brothers through reaction channels. (Also how I got into Nightwish which is now my all-time favorite group!). I am amazed at their vocal diversity amongst the five and how depending on song covered, which brother is leading. It surprises me every time with each cover I watch! They have an incredible natural ear for hearing the original and come out almost the same. Even with The Bee Gees which is mind blowing! The lead singer in this one (blue shirt) is completely feeling the vocal nuances seen in his soulful approach to mic. The guitar work seems so natural and he feels every cord like it’s an extension of his body! ! Love it.🙌🏼🔥 I hate to say this, but I prefer REO Brothers version of Sultans of Swing!! 😲🎉

E (Evasco) is their middle initial and O (Otic) for their last name. So technically, you're right about it being an initial or abbreviation. however, even the brothers pronounce it as re-yo.
