In the later 1980s up to 1992 I used two Tesoros - Silver Sabre and Royal Sabre which could be belt mounted, giving a very light stem and coil to swing. Many good finds with those machines, even down to tiny hammereds.
Like you was in the 80's ,but bought Garretts (Master Hunter) My first one was a push Button retune. What you did today was like Light Tackle fishing :)) Nice to see it, I always wanted a Telsoro, The name was cool :))

Beautiful old machines, easy to use without any stupid and complicated settings turn on and search. With a closed coils. Unfortunately, hardly any manufacturer today makes closed coils. I do not know why? they go through larger vegetation more easily.

I got an original Lazer Rapier yesterday for 100 with a polo coil on in A1 condition so that's no4 on my man cave wall of my Dino's the Nautilus DMC 2ba being in spot one :) who knows I may get one of these for spot 5 one day . Nice to see it picking out them Romans in the iron area and how that signal on the cob nail was clipped or choppy, but like you say always worth investigating in case it's a coin under iron or with alot of iron around it.

Before getting it, I built a detector kit from Everyday Electronics Magazine, it picked up radio One when I detected an object, I guess the best targets would have been if it was tuned in to Gold FM

I'm not sure what you can do about it Gary but I miss your vids on the Deus 1. I guess you must have covered all there is to be said on the 'one' but can I suggest a couple of vids? Comparing the 9" hf coil with the 11" X35 black coil and (still using the D1) a bit of a real specialist detecting, seeking those difficult targets, gold thrysmas. Even with the best setting, the wrong sweep-speed and we will still miss a thrysma. Best for Christmas.

by the way, have you ever used a BFO, they were even before our time, more like the 70's, I saw a guy with one, I think it was more like a Geiger Counter :)) Not much depth

My favorite 25 years ago was that Tesoro Tejon. I found a lot of coins and some nice things. He was good for non-ferrous metal and iron.
