One thing to note is to never ever place your mud can/bucket underneath or near your project, for if you do it when your scraping or sanding, the hard granular dried mud falls into it, & then you can never seem to get another smooth coat out of it as it will mix w/ the wet stuff, scratching & scraping it as you apply it. Now I'm not saying you would do that but the fact i did that is just my point of warning those that might also do that. Thanks for your time & how to do it.

Using a heat gun will significantly reduce waiting times and personally i think the tape is unnecessary, it will protrude from the wall and not make a flush patch.
Also you must use undercoat before painting topcoat otherwise you'll always see a shodow of where the patch is and eventually will peel.
Paint shops never make perfect colour match so its better to repaint the wall, unless you dont care too much about a slightly off colour touch up on the wall.

Pretty sure you need to apply a primer paint coat on the patch and then you'll have to paint the wall from corner to corner so you can't see the patch difference

    .
In the right sort of light, that patch repair will stand out like dogs gonads, because the product GIB Tradeset® is on the surface of the wall, by 2 millimeters or there about.
    .
The right sort of living room lamp will show that 2 millimeters up, well.
I have that very same effect on my ceiling in the bathroom !

So much overkill for a small hole.
Cut a square out of a new piece of plasterboard use this as a template to neaten up the hole.
Place a length of scrap timber like a piece of skirting behind the hole (use 2 or more pieces if required)
Make sure the timber overhangs the hole by at least 3 inches.
Screw through the plasterboard fixing the timber to the back of the wall. Seat the new piece of plasterboard in the hole and fix to the timber.
tape the edges and plaster. 2 hour job at max.
Top tip use natural wood as its easier to screw in to, not ply or chipboard.

  • @lWhySoSeriousl

I guess everyone has their own way.. I dont exactly disagree with using a back block but I would've deff screwed the block in.. Let alone the hole is damn near 16" already why not cut it to brake on each stud and do it rite.. New piece has no screws.. Yeah scrape off the bigger clumps but you should deff sand it the first time also so you dont have any runners. It won't crack instantly but give it a few weeks maybe months if, me personally, i use a primer instead of a finish coat of paint to see any imperfections..maybe not on something that small but hey like I said everyone has their own way, then theirs codes haha

I literally have to tape it up with wall tape and plaster

I put a large 3D sticker of my little brothers over it and I put my Xbox in front of it. i use a self adhesive paper tape (dip in water) and 5 minute quick set plaster. I can have a hole patched with 3 coats of plaster in 45 mins. Good weather its dry and ready to sand in about 2 hours. And you'll definately need to coat that at least twice to not see that repair, possibly 3 times.

This is overkill. Several processes he's used are not necessary. Why use the paper tape?

  • @tonebeatz24
    @tonebeatz24 12 ปีที่แล้ว

Thank God for internet today. See now I can do that on my own by going to Home Depot buying the tools instead of calling a dry waller to come to my house paying him. See how much you can save.

Yank in England means to pull something as well
Example my mate beat me at fifa so I yanked his ear and his head went through my plasterboard
