As someone who has been a fan of the legend of spyro since I was 10, I approve of this series! I think Tempest would have fit in with the Skavengers from the Eternal Night, they're those sky pirate dudes who capture creatures and force them to fight each other in gladiatorial arenas. I imagine that would be how Tempest and Twilight would meet, as Tempest would be the Skavenger's reigning champion of the arena. Maybe Ghal/Stormking pawned Tempest off to the Skavengers once he realized that Tempest wasn't a purple dragon.
Coincidentally, I happened to read up on the etymology of hello recently! Hello came from hallo, which came from holla, borrowed from French _holá,_ from _ho_ (hey!) and _lá_ (there). But holla meant "stop, cease" back in the 1500s, which kind of makes sense in the context of shouting at someone to get their attention.
Storm King and Tempest look fantastic! It's funny how well they sort of translate to Gaul and Cynder both design wise and in the context of their sources of media lol.

Idea: Turn Capper (the cat dude from mlp movie) into furry cheetah like Hunter and others are in The legend of spyro. And mayby turn Star Swird to time guardian like Chronicler, bc that would make sense, they are kinda similiar, and Star Swirld already owns good colour palette for that idea.
Could you do princess Cadence next, since you already did princess Luna and Celestia? And maybe do Twilight as the adult big princess at the end of the show as well where her hair gains some stars and becomes more blue, maybe some of her scales or her wings could change color to be more blue with sparkling.
What if she was going to be a purple dragon but wasn’t because she wasn’t in the right mental environment to hatch as one (so like they only hatch in loving environment’s because love and friendship) 🤔
I really love all of your takes and designs, and I'm so excited for King Sombra! I think we can re-use some of his original lore (with some of my personal head canons bc I think hasbro did him dirty both in comics and show). • The Shadow Dragons (maybe give them a different name/species lol) were at war with one of the dragons empire, The Crystal Empire. A place whose magic's bloomed of the love and hope of its inhabitants. The Shadows need fear and ill feelings to feed their rotting, barely tangent bodies. As the furthest kingdom from other dragons, the Crystal Empire was the perfect target. • Sombra could be a creation from The Shadows, made to infiltrate and get the dragos trust. Of course, that's not what happens, and he is shunned away by the others because of his appearance and weird behavior (like there's something uncanny about him). • There would be some kind dragons that could overcome the eery feeling and become close to him, but he'd always find himself in situations where something bad happens/people are fighting, so he's seen as a bad omen and the cause of misfortune (he only shows up bc his instict is to feed os the bad emotions, but our little kid does not realize that). • Eventually, when he learns the truth, he trics all the Shadows into believing he is on their side, only to end all of them. They'd function as his puppets, like a Necromancer. Then he took over the Crystal Empire, turning the dragons into his slaves, and erasing the memory of the few he cared about the opinion. • Eventually, the princesses defeat him, but he does not go without taking the Empire to the limbo with him. I didn't watch Spyro, and I have no idea how this could really work for you, but I hope this was a nice read. I had these ideas cooking for a while now, and i hope I can actually post it one day. Good luck with the redesign!!❤
The thing about Hello is true. The BBC has a program called Horrible Histories, which is a comedy/educational skit show with a lot of fun songs and characters. That aside, they did a bit about the word hello in one of their episodes. They're all up on TH-cam, you might enjoy it.

I think tempest would be a fear dragon and Sombra a shadow or fear dragon, and I still really hope you do chrysalis and she's a poison dragon, I just really think it'd be cool if all three draconified villain ponies were a form of dark dragon One you could do is Chrysalis and her army of changelings being dark dragons be at war with the non-dark dragons and it play into her invasion (in the og she was trying to feed her colony and here they could look thin and be attacking for that because they need more territory and resources)
Sombra being Fear and Chrysalis being Shadow would be perfect. Sombra controls others through fear and corrupts them, Chrysalis much like a shadow, can blend in and take the form of another like "shadowing" another dragon. Cozy Glow being poison would be interesting as well, considering her ability to manipulate and poison the relationships of other ponies in the show. Besides, it'd fit her personality for being so toxic
@@marshmallowloaf But sombra is known as the pony of shadows, which in this case would be dragon of shadows, and so much of his magic in the show is shadow based (mainly one of the things he's known for being very accurate to the ability where the dragon becomes enveloped in shadow) that it'd feel odd to not have that be part of him, best compromise is he gets both but at least shadow powers if not because he can intimidate others with sheer power instead, Chrysalis felt more fitting with poison because of the nod to her bug themes and the green in her design but she could be like another evil cynder concept and have multiple so it'd vary with the changelings. And I don't really dig cozy glow being a dark dragon, I don't dig villainizing a child to irredeemable means like the show did and think she'd be better as like a fire dragon with blue flames or something and just an orphan in the background.

As someone whos a fan of both series this is AWESOME and fits too well!! :D Maybe Malefor could be a combination of Stygian and King Sombra? So Starswirl could be The Chronicler and the other Pillars could be based loosely on the dragon elders. They could be possibly mentor figures from an ancient time during Sombra's conceivement that helped guide Celestia after the travesty of Sombra/Pony of Shadows, due to them fearing for his inevitable return at a time where theyve since passed. Kind of more tinfoil hatish but maybe it could work!!! Also maybe Celestia has a big sacrifice moment for Twi, Luna and their friends like Ignitus, similar to how a lot the times when a big bad thing happens, shes always conveniently incapacitated somewhere and how at the end of FIM, she and Luna retire to leave Twilight in charge. Similar to how Spyro, Cynder and the remaining residents kind of have to rebuild from the ground up at the end!! That was kind of a nerdy brain dump but I hope it makes sense.

Imma be honest, Twilight's original "flat" spike mohawk appeals greatly to me as a better visual representation of the original pony design, but I also appreciate the theming of your new "star" spike design in reference to her cutie mark, as the shapes do seem to fit well with the Spyro aesthetic and make her look more special. Also, the "flat" spike mohawk kinda looks more like Tempest's pony mane than Twilight Sparkle's pony mane anyway.
My brain has just latched onto this AU and won't let go, would it be alright if I tried writing some myself? (And potentially drawing them in the future? With credit in both cases of course) Your art is fantastic by the way, it feels like you married the look of both series perfectly with these!
Aww, its so sad that dragon tempest lost a wing to the ursa major. But why her wing? Its on the opposite side of her body to her broken horn and scar? Would it not have been as dramatic if she didn't loose her wing? I kinda wish she still had it so she could fly. Or at least have a mechanical replacement. :< But yeah, after watching the movie, I love Tempest too. Still my fav character.
