How difficult / challenging was the drive up to the top? I understand that parts of the drive are at an 18% grade ??? I don't want to blow up my tow vehicle...

I've never thought that the drive up to Mount Magazine was difficult or challenging. There is a grade of course but nothing that would blow up your truck! LOL! Unless you are towing too big a trailer with too small a truck, I think you'llbe okay.

Another great video on an Arkansas State Park. Thanks for the RV spot pictures. May do 2 Arkansas state parks this summer in our RV. Wilhilmena, Crater of Diamonds and Mt Magazine are on the short list. BTW, Petit Jean was always pronounced with a silent second T when I lived in AR. Like Petty Jean. Cheers !!

Mt magazine isn’t very high in total elevation but it is a pretty prominent mountain and ranks in the top 1% of mountain prominence in the US

Your prayers are greatly appreciated Doug! My father-in-law is doing much better but still has a lengthy recovery process ahead of him. We love the state of Arkansas and Mount Magazine is one of the reasons why! Thank you for watching!

Very sorry to hear about your father in law…my dad has fallen off the top of his FW, but luckily he caught himself some and did free fall…I did want to share one thing…I always clean the nose cone of bugs when I get home and found with MY trailer, since it has 6 hydraulic jacks, I can press “retract all” and the legs will all come up and the trailer will sit find and the nose cone will be so low I can stand on the street and clean it W/O having to stand on a ladder to do it…just a suggestion for those who can do the same…for some reason, I wasn’t sure I COULD “retract all” not connected to my truck, but it’s very helpful when cleaning!

Yes, my father-in-law does have a similar jacks system but he keeps his 5th wheel on his property out behind the house and set up his ladder on sloped and unstable ground. It was a terrible lesson to have to learn the hard way, but it's done now. Thank you for watching!!
