This is my absolute dream I think. There was a picture book I was fascinated with as a child, called 'Where does the teacher live?' and the teacher lived on a house boat. Considering everything these days, I think this would be an absoloute wonderful calming lifestyle. Congratulations and thank you for the video of your beautiful boat life.

I want you as my grand mother , I bet your 17 grand kids , sons etc love your life style . You have what a lot of people want to have , Freedom , fishing and just a lay back life . . $60k for the boat $200k in renovating the boat not worth it plus cost of docking the boat too expensive living on this boat. 🤑🤑🤑
@@allentam5754 compared to buying/renting a house or flat in the area way cheaper, and the costs no where as expensive for one. Great views too.
@@allentam5754my house is 1.3 million in brisbane . it’s far cheaper than our realestate . dicing would be about 200 per week instead of 850 a week in rent .

Can We please get an update once all her new glass windows are in & she's set up her living area etc? Also, where does her kids, grandkids sleep when they come?
her grand kids when there for Christmas (summertime in Australia ) slept up on the upper decks in what we call swags, which are bascially waterproof sleeping bags with bug covers (some are more like individual tents beds.. she said she had five out of 17 and there are two bunk beds in the second bedroom.

You have to budget for insurance, taxes, mooring fees, repairs,etc. I can see it being an option to living in a RV
This was a great video. I liked when this lady told about fishing out of her window, bringing in the fish, and cooking it up. I would love this as well. My concern would be if it is too cold in the winter or safe during a storm. I hope that she enjoys many more years on her house boat.
I have a diesel heater which heats the whole boat now…a recent addition…on a swing mooring you just swing around in the wind…the mooring checked every year..so very safe.

Pauline, Glad to hear this. That is great. Hope you will always enjoy this house boat. It is so nice. I just love it but fishing has always been a thing with me. One of my fondest memories as a child was staying on a house boat for a few days while school was out during the summer.

You bet that Australia has got a jungle!!! It's just called Rainforest here. It's in FNQ (Far North Queensland). I've been there many times, hiking, mountain biking or swimming in the rivers there

She pays $70 per week for a permanent dock for the tender boat at the Marina.
$70 a week for your run about is a lot. $4k a year?

Is there no danger in the water, bull sharks, crocs, other things. Cannot believe it is safe for kids and dogs.
Yes - Bull Sharks are a real danger where the boat is. No Crocs she is in Sydney.

I thought that using 12 volt saved money and 240 drained your solar but I am not positive about that if someone would like to let me know if I have been confused about that for a while now I guess if I am wrong 😮🫢???😊👌😃
