Hi I live in the u.s. but I have a cousin married to a thailander. She lived in Thailand, have family there. She travels back and forth, phil and thai. But she stays in the philippines most of the time now. Because she is the one taking care of their family farm. She may be glad to meet you. She lives in another visayan island, western visayas in kalibo, aklan where boracay is. If you are interested, I may be able to introduce you. Just let me know. She may be delighted to see a thailander in the philippines.
The Pilipinos that I know are all smiley people. I don't know what it is with them but they just make your heart feel warm and put you in a good mood! The first time in my life I tried Karaoke, I was so shy, I never sang outside of my shower before. Maybe the reason for that is it was during my first trip to Japan and I ended up at a Karaoke party, being the only guy in a group with 15 girls. I was terrible but I discovered how fun this is and since then Karaoke is one of my favorite party things. My singing is still terrible though!

I could definitely live in the Philippines and plan to in the near future. The people make you so welcome and everyone is so happy and friendly and willing to help. It's paradise to me and so many beautiful places to visit.
Thank you so much for the kind words :) Economically, we are still a long ways off from other SEA countries like Thailand and Malaysia, and so our infrastructure is not yet at par with theirs. But our economy is continuosly growing (we are one of the fastest growing in SEA), so hopeful for continuous improvements in the quality of life here. But as Tah said, it's "the people that makes places" stand out the most. And we definitely exemplify that based on what i've heard from many foreigners coming over. Salamat!
Tah -- I'm late to comment and hoping there is an occasion for your to read this. I like that you are searching for meaning in a place that is loving surrounded by caring people. You can allow your heart to be open and vulnerable. At this point, the only thing that can break your heart is saying goodbye. This means you found your special place.
Lechon means cook in charcoal,, while liempo means. Belly that is deep fried... Im glad that you find your happiness here in philippines.. and also sorounded by nice family that keeps you welcome... Enjoy staying here😘😘
I'm so happy for you Tah!!. Been an OG Fan over here!.. It's nice to see you making videos again. Keep posting.. You dont have any idea how'd you helped us get through our darkest days by watching your videos. Keep 'em coming 😘🙌🙌

Filipinos actually have a similar practice of inviting people to eat with them. We say "kain tayo" when we're eating and see someone else arrive. Sometimes even to strangers.
HI Tah. Great video. To answer your question yes I think you can live in the Philippines. You seem to be fitting in just fine. You will notice some of the words in tagalog and bisaya are the same like the name of foods and some others. I need to start learning more of both languages. I have been in the Philippines now for 7 weeks so just starting the next chapter in my life. Keep smiling and stay safe
The Philippines definitely has an assortment of languages. About 13% of the population are native Tagalog speakers. Everyone else who speaks it speaks at least one or more other languages. When I was in the Philippines back in 2019 (right before the pandemic struck) I was with three ladies heading to Antipolo from Quezon City where I ordered a Grab car service. Upon entering the taxi the ladies started to speak in their provincial language. That's when the taxi driver started to laugh. He said he's from Pangasinan and speaks their language. And it's unusual to run into people speaking his language. There are many other languages especially in Mindanao other than Visayan language. There are some people who don't speak Tagalog too. Many years ago I and my girlfriend were in Puerto Princesa, Palawan when we needed some directions. We came upon a man whom my girlfriend asked directions in Tagalog, he did not understand. She tried Visayan, her native language. He still did not understand. She ran out of languages so she tried English. He still did not understand. She came over to me laughing telling me "that man does not understand Tagalog, Visayan or English." Turns out the native people in Palawan speak Palawano languages, made up of three distinct languages. So finally she saw a traffic agent she asked him in Tagalog and he was able to give her directions. So where ever you're in the Philippines best bet is to speak to a government official they tend to know Tagalog and English.
Because Tagalog is the language we mostly speak in Metro Manila. The capital of the philippines on where the most important global affairs and businesses takes place..
However, English is an official language here, so many can speak English here (with varying degrees of proficiency depending on the education level the person reached). We are actually the 4th or 5th largest English-speaking country in the world. And so foreigners still find it easier to communicate with locals here compared to other neighboring countries.
You are such an ambassador of goodwill between Thailand and The Philippines. I want your videos to be watched by more Thai too.. Thai subtitles maybe? But looks like hard work typing subs right? Hopefully more Thai would want to come visit the Philippines too.. Love from Chiang Mai, Thailand jaooo!
Great vlog again! Feels like you don't want to go back home, because you feel already at home there. The food at the party looks great. This year, I celebrated my birthday at Philippines as well. Everyone loves the lechon, and love to do karaoke and make Tiktok-videos.
